Yeah I didn’t like the way she presented herself. I mean if you are in love and engaged to someone else you wouldn’t hold this big of a grudge to her ex who had his own reasons to leave. Tbh I just don’t think she wanted Blake but just the fairytale engagement moment and that’s it.
I don’t see how she was mean. Greg was incredibly toxic towards her, whether he was acting or not, and she was in shock at the time. Now she’s had some time to gather her thoughts and she’s justifiable angry.

Also, if he truly loved her, he would not have left based on a single moment. She was on her knees begging for him to stay, and he still left.

I really relate to Greg. I feel like if I was on the show, I would end up looking emotionally unstable and neurotic. He was a person who never should have been on the show. I used to like Katie, but she just seems mean here. :(

Exactly. A therapist on Dave Neal's channel points out that Katie was inconsistent. She told Greg, early on, that she was "falling in love" with him. But then she decided to withhold any expression of love after meeting Greg's family. Then, she said, "I love you" to Blake -- instead of showing Justin the respect of waiting until she had broken up with him, first, as she promised to do. Instead of taking accountability for her own inconsistencies and mixed signals, Katie lashed out at Greg at ATFR -- in a very hostile manner.

When he saw Blake and Katie’s date I think it triggered his unhealed wounds and then come hometown when he spilled his heart and she had nothing to really say back, his unhealed abandonment and rejection wounds got triggered and hurt people hurt people unfortunately which is why it’s so important to heal.

Imagine the roles reversed. If a woman poured her heart out to a man the way Greg did to Katie; and the man responded with “I just love looking at you” everyone would be on the woman’s side for getting upset the way he did. I don’t think either of them is technically wrong in this but I do feel there’s a double standard here. Greg doesn’t deserve the amount of criticism he’s getting, he had valid points.
Oh my goodness, I said the exact same thing earlier. Her reactions last week were way too lighthearted compared to the depth of emotion he was sharing with her. It was like night and day. He was totally right.

I think that he was at least looking for a caring answer, like “I appreciate you telling me that” not necessarily “I love you too” We will never know the whole conversation. I personally think she had every right though to call him out. Maybe she could’ve been a little more in control but she was hurt and rightfully so. He talks bs about a relationship being a two way street but gives her an ultimatum or else he’ll leave with no chance to talk and compromise!? And the fact that he’s able to just be so composed after everything that went down just makes him seem more like he’s completely acting. If he really felt anything he’d be WAY more hurt by these wrong accusations. But that’s just it. They aren’t wrong. He didn’t truly love her. Maybe he really thought he did. But he didn’t and it was clear in the way he left.

The moment someone dares to “disobey” her or something doesn’t go her way, she becomes the meanest person who just wants to destroy that person to dust. Our relationship is not what I thought it was and we’re in two different places. That is NOT gaslighting, and it’s NOT emotionally abusive. Sure his delivery was a little blunt, and he changed his tune very quickly, but he poured his heart out to her and she gave him nothing, she replied with “ … I love looking at you.” That is the worst response possibly ever lol. And yeah maybe production told her not to tell anyone that she loves them before the final rose (which I doubt, because again, she told Blake the next day) but even still, she could’ve said something … “thank you for sharing, it means a lot” “you’re so special to me,” “you mean the world to me…” anything. She loves to point the finger at him and say that he wasn’t ready but neither was she! They clearly weren’t meant to be. But he is NOT a gaslighter and is NOT abusive. I believe Greg loved Katie. I think he started feeling insecure in their relationship after catching a glimpse of her date with Blake and then when he poured his heart out to her during their hometown date and her response was so cold, he felt hurt and began doubting that she loved him. I think he needed her to profess her love for him at that point and when she didn't and was willing to let him leave, he knew then that they weren't on the same page.

Greg was like "I'm glad you're happy and found your person" it seems that pissed Katie off even more. 😂 Even once they brought Blake out she still seemed visibly upset. It was truly awkward to watch. She clearly didn't own what she said she was going to do by not saying I love you until there's only one man left in doing that she validated Greg's response which to me were VERY valid for the weight & gravity of that moment he was pouring out his soul. Katie either still has feelings for Greg or that her ego was bruised. May ALL parties involved receive healing. 🙏🏾

Exactly! I think she is mainly angry at the fact that they were so perfect to that point and just b/c she did not give him what he wanted he decided to be a child. He decided to throw a tantrum, be rude and disrespectful, and run away. It was disappointing and tbh I think she was just giving him a taste of his own medicine in her delivery. Yea may have been harsh but who cares. Blake and Katie are together hopefully forever. Sorry Greg but Katie said "thank u, next" and got a man who even when she couldnt give him full validation stuck around, fought for her. Took her Aunt's harsh skepticism, and still chose her. Blake is amazing!

For me, it was the fact that Katie had the audacity to claim Greg was lying and faking when he opened up to her about how she "filled a hole in his heart" after his dad died that sent this over the edge. Even if you believe that, no one in their right mind would openly say that about such a sensitive and personal issue for another person. Especially not to their face. She basically said he used his dad's death and the trauma he felt afterward for clout. That's an extremely serious accusation. I think Katie invented this strawman of Greg after the split to compartmentalize her heartbreak, cause she didn't know how to process how a guy being totally genuine about his feelings could leave her the way he did. That unresolved heartbreak festered into anger, which spilled over at the ceremony because she hadn't truly come to terms with the situation and simply wanted revenge. But like I said, she went too far with her accusations and it really made her look bad.
i agree! she has not processed the break up and instead of taking time to do so she decided to subconsciously compartmentalize all her greg feelings until she had no idea what was true anymore. katie's accusations were extremely immature. it hurt watching her attack greg when he for the most part put his truth and his feelings completely on the table.

After watching the entire episode, I understood where Greg was coming from in that moment. She didn't respond at all. So from my personal point of view, I think he felt rejected and that she is stringing him
I agree. She just patted him on the back and says, "I love looking at you". I would have also been as upset as he was. Although, he could have done a better job in how he communicated it. And the way she treated him here is absolutely out of line and petty.

I don't know what Katie was expecting Greg to say here. He apologized as best he could for the part he played but she played a part too. I mean, she tore him to shreds here and no one stepped in to try to calm the conversation down. Did she expect him to get on his knees? He guided the conversations and stepped in when they started to spiral out of control or emotions ran very high. Her anger was out of control and destructive for her, Greg, and her relationship with Blake. Disappointing that Tayshia and Kaitlyn just acted as spectators and not hosts. This ATFR just left a bad feeling on the whole season. The truth is nobody won.

Katie lost me the second she put that Instagram story about "gaslighting" up after last week's episode. Katie clearly does not know what gaslighting is (as you can see when she's asked about it). Also, she couldn't say "I love you" to Greg bc of the show but then turns around and says it to Blake while Justin is still there??
Thank you! I really liked her until that gaslighting post. Everyone ganged up on Greg and let her play the victim after that conversation..it obviously went to her head. She doesn't want to admit that they were both wrong in how they were acting. And if she had truly 'loved' Blake then why would she even care if Greg left? Wouldn't she have just told him goodbye (just like Justin) after the overnight?? Looked like she was just trying to make the best of the situation after Greg and Michael both left.

To me the problem with Greg wasn't that he was rude, it's that his reason for being upset made no sense. Well ok it at least made sense how he got to that point, but he needed to understand the reality of the show he was on. He can't get mad at Katie for comparing his progress to other guys when the concept of the show is literally dating multiple guys and eliminating them until you have one left. He also just kept contradicting himself, tonight for example when he said he respected Katie's decision to wait until F1 to confess her love, and then later that he expected her to say she loved him in that moment.

Wow I loved Katie I wanted her to be the Bachelorette and after watching this she has totally lost me. Her character assassination of Greg was totally uncalled for. She is clearly hurt but to call him an actor, that his shy guy persona is an act, and accusing him of gaslighting her when he was genuinely upset that she failed to give him the validation he felt he needed. Respect of emotions is a two way street, his feelings were and are just as valid as hers. I was really proud of how she dealt with the drama this season right up and until this moment which is a real shame.

I have never liked Greg, but I am angry with him, too. :D She is over him, but at the same time she can feel anger because she was on her knees begging to this man who didn't even say goodbye to her. In my opinion. I think Katie felt completely disrespected by Greg talking to her the way that he did, and so it's anger and frustration fueling this conversation, not unresolved feelings.

She was already rude to Thomas who on the grand scheme of things, wasn’t that bad & passive aggressive to Michael who left to be with his son. I don’t think she’s in love with him, but she’s angry he walked out on her and it wasn’t her eliminating him. So now she’s talking down on him & wanting him to feel hurt the way she was. All around, toxic situation for both parties.

Katie acted like a spoiled rotten brat in how she treated Greg on the finale show. All Greg was asking all along was for feedback in his communication with her. He told he he loved her and was so in love with her. She gave him no feedback at that moment. She needs to learn how to communicate better. He was not rude to her at all. He kept asking for more feedback before he left. She gave him nothing at those moments. She needs to own up to her own emotions. No one makes another person feel the way they do. Each of us is responsible for our own emotions. It was sickening to see how she treated Greg on the finale. All she did was blame him for everything. She needs to own up to her decisions of giving him no response at that moment they had these discussions. I feel sorry for whoever marries her.

As someone whose experienced gaslighting and didn’t know until my therapist pointed it out, this is NOT it. Greg likely has anxious attachment and Katie did do a terrible job of validating his love in that moment.

But she made it very clear to Greg that the only reason she wasn’t saying “I love you” was because of the rule she set which she broke for Blake a day later.

She didn't need to end up with anyone in the end and although I hope she can make it work with Blake, I am not sure they will last long term because she didn't do the work she needed to do. She was angry after months of not taking the time to mourn the breakup. Of course she would have questions, have some sadness, want to get some clarity, etc but the issue is that she acted the was she claimed Greg was acting though. She kept throwing shots at him and seemed fueled by the audience. As I said she is entitled to feel how she feels, but it was up to her to focus on healing and letting go of the relationship. She spoke her truth, but was hurtful, didn't let him really explain himself and when he tried to she would go on about how she validated him with this, this and this and refused to actually listen. To me it showed her true colors as well, they are one in the same and need to work out what they need to work out within themselves. She was condescending here and is talking down to him whereas Greg is over all of it. If she was as happy as she says she is with Blake, why not just say thank you for getting me to my person, what happened really hurt me but I am happy now and leave it at that? Being the bigger person would have just been letting him speak what he needed to say, her speaking her truth without throwing jabs in the process about being an actor and this and that. On both sides it was "I this and I that" which shows an issue in the way they communicate and that they both focus on their own perception of their relationship and not seeing that they both could have acted differently at the end of their relationship.

I think the reaction was in response to her listening to his solo interview with Taysha and Kaitlyn where he says he had no regrets. I feel that if he said he would have done some things differently, she would have been a lot more empathetic. Unfortunately that didn’t happen. He still stands by everything he did.

Ok I must have watched a different show because as I see it, in no way shape or form is this anyway Greg’s fault she knew she was not in love with him when he said it to her. She was just going to keep him around for the drama. She is a hypocrite, keeping someone around is not validation that shows love them. And he knew she didn’t feel the same way. She should have let him go just like she did to the other guy. Honestly that guy should be pissed because he just found out he was actually 3rd runner up.
Katie is a child she knows she’s in front of an audience full of women and knows everyone gonna be on her side so she continues to bash him and tear him down, throughout the whole season all she did was act and cry her eyes out with crocodile tears so she has no room to talk
She's going way too far. I liked her before this, but she is actually borderline abusive here. I think she's actually the one doing the gaslighting here, twisting things to make it look like he never had real feelings for her when there's really no evidence of that. He walked away because he couldn't really deal with her reaction to his feelings. Also, I don't really believe that she and Blake are going to last. It looks like she chose Blake because Greg left and took himself away as a choice, and Blake seems to basically just fall for anyone and everyone who is put in front of him - first Clare, then Tayshia, now Katie.

I don’t know, I think this was her expressing her hurt and how she felt about what he did. When you look at how he did a complete 180 and refused to listen to her. One minute he’s like “you’re my everything I love you more than anyone I’ve never felt this way I wanna marry you” for her to comfort him and be there for him and listening to him and having to hold back because she had to, because that’s the nature of the show, she’s not allowed to show that she chose him before the show ended. Then for him to go “You don’t love me I don’t think you love me you’re not good, I gave you everything and I deserve more, bye” after a single night of just maybe her not expressing what he expected her to, like he put her on a pedestal and the moment she wasn’t doing exactly what he wanted her to, he was cold, and abandoned her. I get that for him it was probably relational trauma, but that doesn’t excuse it and I don’t think she’s in the wrong to have those thoughts or to say them
I’m embarrassed for Katie and her behavior. What an incredibly angry response she had, for someone who is so blissfully happy. It was painful to watch her rip him a new one, She never stopped playing the game long enough to realize that Greg was asking for a genuine moment between himself and the woman he cared for, not The Bachelorette. If she honestly felt that he was her person, she had the opportunity to open up to him and share her feelings - but she chose not to do that. She couldn’t even see what he was asking for. She seems like she’ll be a Bridezilla, Godspeed to Blake. Third time’s the charm for both of them…

It's not that you have feelings, it's how you express them. He revealed himself to be a self victimizing emotionally abusive person during their breakup. His entire behavior was filled with textbook covert narcissistic tendencies. I'm also glad she stood up for herself because however valid his feelings might have been, they did not give him an excuse to treat her in that way. They never do, but emotional abusers will always use them as such.

He certainly tried to confuse her and punish her , every time she said something he responded with changing what he said and telling her she didn’t understand him. I don’t care what that is technically called, it came across as manipulation to me. Why are you all so judgemental of Katie, she did her best to work out what he was saying, just because it didn’t meet your approval does not make her a bad person at all. Whole thing just showed they were not meant to be together as neither could communicate well. He did not understand her position either, and showed very little compassion.

katie literally manifested greg leaving. she kept saying "i feel like you're going to leave" to him every time they were together and then when he finally did leave she said "greg is someone i never thought would leave like this." he poured his heart out to her and she just laughed in his face. katie was so awkward when meeting his family, she could barely even look greg's mom in the eyes when she was talking about their relationship like she felt guilty and didn't even believe what she was saying. i think katie knew she wasn't going to pick greg and let him self sabotage the relationship so she didn't have to look like the bad guy and break his heart. she said it was "the biggest heartbreak of her life" but then says i love you to blake a couple days later???

They were both wrong in their own way, it was mostly just miscommunication. I will say that I do not like how Katie came on stage acting like she was scaring somebody 😂 The way she spoke to Greg now, no matter how upset she still was, just goes to show that she really did not see anything from Greg’s point of view. Yes, Greg was wrong for leaving the way he did, but he is here apologizing to her while she’s just making excuses and trying to make him look bad. She looked ridiculous and Greg was the only one here trying to talk like an adult, and was the only one who apologized for whatever happened.
I don’t think that’s fair considering the way he left. He didn’t let her speak at all and kept talking over her when he left. She has every right to be upset with him and of course he’s going to act all calm now to make sure he still looks good. Plus everything she was saying was true so all he could really do was sit and apologize. When I look from Greg’s POV I get it. He needed to hear that she loved him for him to stay and that’s completely valid. He has every right to want to leave if she is unable to say it to him. But then he should have just left. Instead he goes to her and gives her an ultimatum. That’s unfair because he says a relationship is a two way street but there’s no compromise in an ultimatum. He wanted her to want him to stay but only on his terms. Maybe she could’ve been more calm and maybe a little nicer or maybe she could’ve “handled” things better because it was on national TV. Katie just embarrassed herself. She acted like a brat the entire time while Greg was mature and civil. Katie knew he was going to be logical, upfront and mature as it’s shown, so she tries to act over the top, and tries to cut him off with whinny attitude because she knows she can’t defeat him civilly. She’s definitely got her aunt in her: Insecurity. Katie created a bratty attitude towards Greg who was mature because her insecurities took over her, it’s clear to see. She’s too busy in defense mode rather than instinctively responding, not acting as if it’s an emotional competition. Many people fail to realize the bigger picture in the end

Well said! there’s a lot more women who would rather emasculate their male partners and test their masculinity instead of lifting them up as a result of subconscious bitterness towards men that develops when they’re raised with this idea of not needing men. Katie is a terrible long term relationships option because of this “I don’t need no man” attitude. Women like this tend to treat men more as toys or objects to be enjoyed and discarded as opposed to treat them as someone who deserved to be honoured and respected.
