- Alabama Accent VS Louisiana Accent
I met these ladies Robin and Vicki at a Girls Beach Trip 2022. We went to Panama City Beach Florida for a week. When I met them I knew we had to do a accent Challenge. I thought this video turned out good. I hope you enjoyed this video.

If I could put it into written form:
The Alabama accent is: “Awww”
The Louisiana accent is “Ahhh”
Tho shall not speak ever.
As you go further down southern Louisiana the accent changes and gets stronger because of the French speaking
That's definitely true. I've been in south Louisiana all my life. Born and raised on the coast. Some Louisiana accents are deeper than others. The southern accent here in Louisiana is known as Cajun accent
That woman is definitely from south Louisiana - probably closer to NOLA. Most people in North Louisiana don't say "my-nez" for mayo. Cajun accents are different from NOLA accents and even around NOLA the accents differ depend on where you live (West bank, NOLA proper, Slidell, etc). Neither of those ladies said "mais" enough while telling stories to be cajun though.
Yup. Ita my favorite. My uncle is from there and its the most interesting accent. My grandpa is from all over Louisiana. We have picked up his accent over time. Texas and Louisiana accent together is crazy. It's a lomg drawl but fast too. Lol
My son loves chili cheese dogs. He asked for one at school. He says it "chi chi daw". They had no idea what he was saying. The called me and I knew right away. I had to slow down to tell the lady so that she knew what I was saying. Lol
We say man-theys instead of mayo up here 😂@melissas4874
Louisiana accents change every twenty miles 😆
I'm from loosiana and can confirm. Abbeville lafayette area and no on talks the same
I'm writing a book where a character has a Louisiana accent. I got curious and found this 😂
Let me know when it comes out!
Same! I came here for research. Was the louder lady from Alabama or Louisiana? Which lady told the cat story? I'm blind, so I wasn't quite sure who said what.
@@blindvision4703 I'm not entirely sure, but at 9:09, the woman who says "Oh my goodness" is the one from Louisiana. Sorry if this didn't help but good luck on your book!
@@eeperton thank you. Although, I must make a correction of my previous post. I’ve actually mostly finished that book; it’s just a matter of how much I want to revise it. Getting the correct accent and dialogue would be one of those revisions. Best wishes to you on your book as well. God bless you in Christ, and may you surfing.
@@blindvision4703 the loud lady is Alabama and the cat story lady is Louisiana. Hope that helps!
Wonderful! Love the accents, thanks for sharing. The Louisiana accent is so nice to hear as we don't hear it as much.

I enjoy watching videos about accents! Thanks for this!
I could sit and listen to you all chat for hours. My Northern Irish accent might cause some confusion though! Beautiful accents.
I love the Northern Irish accent! I'm one of the minority of people who watched 'Derry Girls' without the subtitles!
Ya'll just crack me up. Love it!!
Good lord, bless these ladies 😂
I love these videos. Hello from Pa 👋🏾😃
So cute watchin these ladies. Reminds me of bein home (moved from Louisiana to Utah a couple years ago) And I LOVE how they corrected her, "LOU-WEEZY-ANNA"
Love this
such a vibe lol
Louisiana native now living in Alabama. Loved it. However, for Alabama y’all missed “carry” something and “mash a button “.
me: **I wonder if as an european I will be able to tell apart southern accent from a regular accent**
0:02: HEY YALL THIS IS TREE SOUTHERN AXAINT
(love it btw haha)
LOL never seen accent the way I say it.
You are right. I think Alabama and Mississippi accent sound alike.
@@TrueSouthernAccent well that’s how it sounded to me, i’m from Spain so maybe americans think it doesn’t sound that way, but it’s definitely cool to see accents from different english native speakers!
Im 47 now, always living in Germany and I always love to listen to the Alabama accent, I dont know why, but it has something of the old western movies or the good old times, which are like conserved. Amazing accent! I recently am learning the history of the european, african and american continent. A neverending story!
We got similar age and are "neighbors", and just like you I love southern American accents for the same kind of reasons, grew up with my dad and grandparents always watching western movies and all American sitcoms, got those 80s in the blood! 😊

I'm from Alabama but I don't say Mississippi and Louisiana. I say Miss Sippy and Loosiana.
I say it like that too. They told me I did not say Louisiana correctly. Yea
I say it like...
Louise see Anna
Lou ease see anna
Miss sy sip pee
Miss sigh sip pee
Miss i sip pee
Missy sip pee
I say loosiana too 😂
Missipee loojhana
@@TrueSouthernAccent My parents, from La, moved to California when my dad joined the USMC. Someone on base asked my mom her home state. “Loosiana”, she said. He told her that she was mispronouncing it, too. After her righteously indignant response, he learned that day that it’s pronounced “Loosiana”. 😉
much love from britain 🇬🇧 the states are extremely diverse!
😀✋hi there jenni.much love 😘❤️
But Britain is much more diverse for a country the same size as the state of Wyoming😂
I’m from Connecticut but every time I go to the south I pick up the accident pretty quick. Love southern accidents.
To my East Texas ear, these Ladies sound super twangy like out in west Texas. Most people around here; including myself, have that syrupy drawl.
Lovely Ladies ❤
Usually I like Yorkshire accents, Australian accents.
I'm a French speaker.
But Southerners? I can't tell difference between which is which until this vid gave me a hint on what it sounds like.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please do Alabama va Georgia
I’m from Mississippi and I sometimes pronounce Louisiana as Lou weeze anna.
Well here in Virginia we pronounce our words just like the pple in Alabama...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha ❤
👍🏻
Which one's which? I can't see. Where's the cat story lady from? I want to know for research purposes. And did they both deny the Lou'siana pronunciation?
I’m from the south. The lady in the black is Alabama, the one in the middle is Louisiana. I’m not sure about the one in green. I think she’s Louisiana too. The middle lady sounds like she is from New Orleans. Yea, the green is Louisiana too.
mawmaw and pawpaw in Louisiana.. she was right We were also raised to be very cordial. you see that here. Not so much in AL/MS. And yes, you don't ever call Louisiana Loosiana.. you might start a fight lol
Howdy y'all from Southern Alaska!
Howdy Alaska 👋🏻
Please more videos 📹
Louisiana rules.
😆 if someone asked me to say mayonnaise I'd respond with "dukes".
Come to South Carolina
You say "water" like the Australians...Waddaa
I’m from Alabama and I’ve got to say I don’t think I have much of a accent I say some things with a accent but I don’t talk with a accent
Ain't Ms. in between?
If ya don’t get enough asking for more. It’s because ya ain’t ask for boocoo
German moving to Cali🙋🏼♀️ workin on my southern accent lol
Do yerself a favor and come to the south. California sucks
Bless your heart "Cali" isn't southern baby 🙃
@@gabriellemorehouse3979 Bless her heart, she aint all there. 😂😂😂
Wait, the lady on the right is the middle one's mama? They look about the same age!
Could have done not hearing about that cat story!
Hallo glad to see you 👋🏻
❤ from 🇺🇬
Louisiana, like most states, is hard to pinpoint to one accent. I'm from louisiana but in my parts, we don't sound near as twangy as this lady did. More emphasis on the drawl. Also, just close enough to cajuns to get a little influence from them too
I’m a Louisiana Cajun to my bones. 😂🎉
cajun accent ?
Yaw'd is the past tense to y'all.
Im from Louisiana and I always used yaw’d like “y’all would”
Louisianna accent is easier to understand
Don't mind the accent
but the pronunciation of the indefinit articl as 'ay' instead of the correct 'a' as in Ago Alive Anew is just sad.
ay ay ay is just an utterly repugnant feature.
ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE AMEN
Well here in Virginia we pronounce our words just like the pple in Alabama...🤣🤣🤣🤣
