I am and have been a West Virginian all my life! Love this so funny! I don’t notice an accent like this young man’s! But great video love it 🥰
I live in Scott Depot West Virginia. It's close to Buffalo.
The BEST tea is Red Rose tea with sliced lemon and lime.
My hometown in the Shenandoah valley of VA. is only 20 miles east of the WV. state line and we have that similar Appalachian twang. I use a warsh cloth or warsh rag and I say a carpet sweeper for the thing that sucks up dirt and the sweeper sweeps it up and we put our pokes in the buggy and in the winter I put a tabogen on my head. I prefer lemonade to sweet tea but I enjoy them both but the sweet tea must be sweeter than the lemonade whereas the lemonade must be more tart
Listening to different accents and different words is entertaining. And what’s funny is most people think is the way they talk is normal, and not think they have an accent. Until they hear a different accent and point it out. I’m born and raised in Northern New Jersey, and when southern people hear me speak they immediately know I’m not from the south and ask me which part of the north I’m from. I was a little annoyed by that at first but I don’t mind it anymore; I enjoy it!
