You're some kind of artist to make a jumbled hole in the ground look so special.
I appreciate that EJ!
These shots are AMAZING. Just wow. Composition and subject are just telling the story. Beautiful project work.
I'm a sociology student and am def gonna use this as inspiration for a photo project my last year.
"I now live in the quarry" 💀 Great shots man!
hahaha thanks buddy
The opening boulder pile is exactly my vibe. You nailed it!
Hell yeah buddd!
Hi, Robbie.
You are absolutely right, safety first.
A beautiful environment to make a documentary.
Your photos are sublime as usual, man.
I really enjoyed watching this video again.
And one thing is certain: as soon as the work stops there, Mother Nature will just take it back.
Have a nice weekend, friend, and see you in the next video.
Antoine.
You too buddy! Thanks for hanging
Hi Robbie, really enjoying seeing more of your photography, there were some excellent images shared in this episode and I'm sure you made many more besides those you shared. Hoping that you may long continue to visit and make work at this site, I feel it would reward many repeat visits through the seasons - forgive my enthusiasm, I'm housebound with a crummy health condition, very grateful for your sharing your adventures with us. I really like how you see and represent the world, some great photography happening here!
Thank you, Andrew! I am happy that I could keep you company for a little bit
Again Robbie you did it again, wonderful you made the ugly make sense and added some beauty to it. I don’t know if we have some kind of parallel life but I told you I live in a village in Northern Spain and shoot 5x4, well my neighbour is a quarry exactly like the one you’ve photographed but I’ve never seen the beauty in it until now the holding pond and Vultures that frequently fly in and out of the quarry are all present and less than 100m from my house.
I know I can’t produce anything like what you’re producing because my thoughts on this quarry are very negative and this would come through in my work, your photos on the other hand are stunning. I’m so excited about this I forgot to listen to the film stock you were using. It looks like Ultramax but I Guess it’s Kodak Gold 200.
You are pure inspiration. Simplicity and storytelling plus your photos and own ambient music... Watching your videos is like reading a unique story!
Thank you so much my friend! I always appreciate your kindness
Excellent work once again, Robbie.
Thank you my friend!
I was seeing those beautiful images and at the same time, thinking you finally didn’t arrive to the exit on time 😂
haha choices were made. I have a made a nice home here in the quarry
Nice pacing to the video. Enjoyable to watch.
Thank you, buddy! I appreciate it
Good vibes & great shots once again. Love the music too. 🙏🏼
Much love bud!
Awesome images! Also, I have that hat
Amazon gang!
Awesome video Robbie. Makes great viewing alongside Kyle’s Slate City work in North Wales. Fantastic images. Sorry for the nay sayers. I did not take your tone to be disrespectful. You just got lost the work. We have all done that before. And nice to see the C220 getting a workout.
Thank you my friend! I really appreciate that :)
Another great video, it really is beautiful there. I share your dislike of heights, I didn’t discover mine until I was visiting Paris and only made it to the lowest viewing platform on the Eiffel Tower when I had planned to go to the top🤣
The final line on the video made me laugh out loud!
This is such an interesting project, hope there will be more in the future.
haha Im happy you made it all the way through. Im only responding because I just got wifi in my granite shanty
Robbie, im a relatively new viewer. I'm absolutely loving your photography, this little quarry series is right up my street, floats my boat if you will. I have a really boring non artistic question though, how do you find the peak design anchor looped through the metal strap lugs? My GFX50S has those metal strap lugs and ive been using a traditionally strap put though them. I am worried that the anchors might spread the weight distribution of the camera and pull the lugs at an angle that they weren't designed for. Any experience? Thanks from the UK.
Thanks, Thomas! I just threw caution to the wind and put them on. It is not a great fit but I haven't had it fall off yet so fingers crossed
@@RobbieMaynardCreates thanks Robbie, appreciate the reply. Also if you ever do a quarry zine, I'm here for it.
Seems you took the "hard out" time for granite?
hahaha ohhhh shit. Thats a brilliant pun
Bro they know you’re locked in that’s why they’re not answering their phones after a hard days work the quarry workers are not going to wait for you I’ve learnt this the hard way too. Try to be respectful of locking up or closing times when out photographing projects this is a valuable lesson to heed.
I will keep that in mind in the future. They actually made me a key in the interim lol
hey! The leaf blades get stuck sometimes on my sekor 80mm, any advice on how to remedy that or better to give it to a pro for a CLA?
Im not tech so my advice would probably only make things worse lol
@@RobbieMaynardCreates Thank you...I only asked cause I saw u fix your own things in videos. Probably wise up and take it to a CLA haha
@@hmuz8388 If you want to try some lighter fluid on the blades, that may be worth trying but you have to be super careful. Those blades are incredible fragile and too much fluid can totally wreak havoc on the internal components of the lens
@@RobbieMaynardCreates gotcha! Appreciate it man
As long as homes and businesses are being built and remodeled granite will be highly desirable. As always lovely photos. But with lady like that she will probably find it extremely disrespectful being late for closing when the employees want to get home. Hope she invites you back again after that.
She thought it was funny and helped get home. I got a bottle wine heading her way lol
Some of those views are begging for the Tex-Pan aspect ratio. Part 3 someday?
Well we need to know how this end...
I chiseled some granite into a home. Just got electricity and wifi. The coyotes are a problem though lol
@@RobbieMaynardCreates Let us know how that stone toliet works out for ya 🙂
So it was extremely disrespectful of you to be late and I'm glad you got locked in. You were disrespectful and selfish man. Not cool
Suck a fart lol
@@RobbieMaynardCreates disrespectful as fuck
