    *Works so well **Fastly.Cool** for rv that it only requires daytime operation until high temp and humidity are overnight. It is difficult to get to side filters, but back is easily accessible.*

    Upgraded our 2 thermostats to Micro Air on our 2013 Phaeton. We’re on our first trip now with them and we love them! Adjust the climate while lying in bed via Bluetooth or the WiFi. Love it!

    • @danamckittrick2162
      @danamckittrick2162 Před 3 lety +3

      NOTE: Depending on the thermostat you are replacing, the Micro Air model may come prewired to a white multi wire connector that will mate with the same type connector from the coach’s factory wiring. In that instance it is literally ‘plug and play’. No individual wires to connect. 👍

    • @danamckittrick2162
      @danamckittrick2162 Před 3 lety

      UPDATE: If your RV is equipped with an Automatic Generator Start (AGS) that will provide backup power in case of a power failure, the Micro Air thermostat will work seamlessly with that function. As you would before, it must be turned on and set to the desired temp and heat or cooling.

      I have the 2012 Phaeton and it is not a plug and play. Do I need to cut the wires from the motherboard? Also the micro air has connecters on it too?

    You guys have changed my life once again!!! Watching your videos has inspired me to get out in my RV more, my girlfriend and I just made a 14 hour drive from St.Louis to Gulf Shores for vacation which I’ve never hauled my RV more than a few hours before........ I spent weeks researching how I can get a smart thermostat and never found any promising results then I just laid down after a long 2 days of traveling and you’ve solved my long mystery of getting a smart thermostat!!!!! I ordered myself one before your video was even over for my 27th birthday coming up on Wednesday!!!! Your code worked flawlessly! Thank you guys so much!!!!!

    Hvac tech here ..Regular thermostats absolutely can control multiple heat and ac sources.. most of your modern day thermostats will have an RC and Rh terminal with a jumper factory installed between both terminals . if you remove the jumper and hook up your heat source power wire to rh, and your cooling r wire to rc, that’s running a dual power setup . If you buy a home wi-fi the tstat, that’s powered off batteries and not a 24 volt power source .. it will work fine since the thermostat terminals are open and closed switches and the Batteries are the power source .. no different then having a straight ac system with duct work and a boiler system for heat . One stat can control both . I installed two residential wifi thermostats in my travel trailer without any issues . Works perfect .

    My first Easy touch thermostat failed in under one year, maybe because it was I think the second one ever installed (May 2020). Screen just blanked out. Luckily I kept my old thermostat in the rig and just reinstalled it. Contacted Micro-Air and they sent me a replacement unit right away. Reinstalled that one and I got the latest unit, so that was good. Kudos to Micro-Air for their support.

    I had this thermostat for my 5th wheel, it was the first company to make a wifi bluetooth thermostat for Rv's and it worked very well. The initial setup took a few minutes with the connection and pairing process but otherwise it was great. The price tag for a one of a kind system is high but to be expected. Unfortunately I can't use it anymore as I traded in my RV and it's not compatible with my new Coleman mach system. The system I have is for the Dometic , I removed the thermostat and it's only 2 months old. Now I need to look into the Coleman Mach version.

    Bought a Beta unit from MicroAire and worked with then on some of the startup issues. At this point the unit is very stable and works exactly as it should The guys at MicroAire were great to work with, appreciated feedback from the field, and were very responsive to any issues. After watching/hoping the market would produce one of these, MicroAire rose to the occasion, and I believe have the only one of it's kind in the market. Very happy with mine, and anxiously await Google/Alexa compatibility.

    I installed one of these maybe 5 months ago. It works fine although I would have liked a better touchpad. I do think they could improve the app. I have an iPhone and to exit the app you swipe up but doing that I often turn off the thermostat because of the location of the off button or change the mode setting or fan setting. If they just put those three settings on top and moved the temperature and wifi/bluetooth to the bottom this won't happen. You can touch those all day long and nothing will happen. I contacted them about this and their answer was there were other ways to exit the app. True. But when you do something for years, changing that habit is difficult and it shouldn't be necessary for me to learn a new methodology. It would be so simple for a software engineer to flip those lines.

    I love the thermostat but not the price. When something like a Sensi Wifi for your home is $79, I just can't justify the price. Hopefully a newcomer will enter the market at a more reasonable price.

    Chad I would like to ask you personal question. You travel a lot though different states. Do you stop at all port of entry. I believe if your combed weight trailer and truck is over 25000 lbs you should stop. Am I right I wrong ?

    Have you ever thought of solar? I have been looking into the company who made your amazing rv! I really love the company and I am looking at getting one in Canada this summer so we can travel up into the north off grid.

    Nice upgrade, but at $250 a piece, buying enough for our rig would be too pricey to be worth it. We just monitor with a govee and wireless camera and have the phone number to the front desk for emergencies. $60 total system.

    great job! I have had mine for about 6 months now works great. in the last several days i have had an error come up AC Freeze Lockout. has anyone else had this error?

    • @jimevans6311

      i just got an update from EasyTouch support, this thermostat will give you let you know issues with your AC. If anyone faces this issue here is what support states.
      This means that the freeze sensor is indicating that your evaporator coil is freezing up and shutting down to prevent damage. Note that this functionality is from the Dometic control board and the thermostat is reporting the state.

      A temporary solution as you have found is to turn the system off and on, however the root issue must be addressed and best handled by an HVAC technician. Some potential causes:

      Misplaced sensor
      Poor airflow
      Closed registers
      Dirt/debris on coil
      Dirty air filter
      Failing fan assembly
      Low or mischarged refrigerant (note this should never leak or need recharging)
      Great Product thanks for Sharing Chad & Tara !!!

    I love micro air products like the micro easy start but this thing is just overpriced. But i agree, having this with dogs might be worth it. Along with our monitoring of humidity and power with the meetmarcell unit. I will have to just bite the bullet and buy it. As always, great video.

    Sounds good but.... Is this device more smart after a power loss? ie have a default of power on and control of the AC after power loss? I know the original thermostat does not do anything after a power loss. Let's say you are on a nice hike and your out of cell phone wifi range of the camper, then what?

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes  Před 3 lety

      No internet means no access.. Not much we can do about that scenario. But at least we can turn it on as soon as we're in cell range. The RV is almost never outside cell service.

    Great video! I just installed the same thermostat in our Grand Design Solitude. We also have a heat pump and gas furnace connected to our Living Room AC. You mentioned an issue with the temperature jumping - how did you correct that (firmware update or something else)?

    • @ChangingLanes
      @ChangingLanes  Před 3 lety

      The device had to be swapped out. The symptom is a 3-4 degree straight jump when the compressor kicks on. If yours does that, contact your reseller or Micro-Air. 👍🏼

      @@ChangingLanes I took a video and spoke with Hutch Mountain. Camper was 95 degrees according to the Easy Touch, I turned on the AC and as soon as the compressor kicked in the inside temperature jumped to 98 degrees and then slowly (over a couple of minutes) returned to 95 degrees. Hutch Mountain recommended talking to Micro Air so I will call them tomorrow.
