Man is teasing awakened alma and still beating her to the ground while I’m trying so hard and using all my rebirth talismans and still loosing.
Dude your videos have been SO. HELPFUL. I used to have straight up anxiety and sweaty thumbs fighting her on higher difficulties lol and now I just take my time and plan my attacks and I just crushed her, god this game is so awesome

That's good to hear :) My main motivation for doing a lot of tutorials is I know how tough the game is to learn without any help. Glad you're making your way through the modes.

Thanks for making all these boss tutorials and weapon guides! Just finished my Very Hard run on Sigma today and I never expected myself to clear it at all. One thing I discovered was that when your flying swallow gets deflected, Awakened Alma tends to punish you with the grab attack, but if you were to cancel the recovery with shuriken + helm splitter, you can actually escape the grab attack unharmed and continue your attacks at her.
I've been watching videos of you playing NG since the early CZcams days and I'm still learning new strategies about this game till this day :D
Just wanted to say thank you for the amazing tutorial videos. I never expected quality of this level when I searched for help on this game. Just kinda expected uncommentated SD videos where I'd hope to watch for strats. Your videos are great, didn't expect someone so into the game and knowledgeable to be producing content so recently for this great game.
It's wonderful to see you still putting out content on this great game. Was daydreaming the other day about the IW community and the sweet videos, especially Tatoshka's (sp) karma run vids. The community introduced me to as much new music as anything else.
I'm doing a base health 100% on Master ninja and these guides are just perfect for this run! Thanks for helping me achieve what I wanted since 04!
My favourite way of taking out minions: (this works in so many NG games and fights, to the point where I do this against Dagra Dai in NGS 2 too)
Wind Path off the heads of the minions while Alma is throwing projectiles at you. You don't even have to do anything yourself.
I wanna say I commented on this tutorial before about how AA always give me trouble, but thanks to the tutorial and the vids and streams, I just beat Awakened Alma back to back on Very Hard after being away from the game for a bit. Thanks for the tutorial, and curse that first pill bug room in the pyramid lol.

I played dark souls 3 for the first time recently... it's super easy compared to ninja Gaiden black in master mode.
@@victormurphy7956 to be fair, dark souls doesn’t have difficulty modes. The normal mode is difficult enough. That’s why we love it lol
Even my 9 year old cousin could beat Dark Souls lol.
Then I gave him Ninja Gaiden and he could not even beat it on normal :D
Very different games. I struggled more with dark souls btw.

Adding my two cents with how I learnt to fight her as a kid:
When in close range as she's flying, Alma only tends to use either her single charged blast or her grab attack, so dodging fowards through them, it's possible to punish with a simply X - Y - Y string, but it's inconsistent which of the attacks will connect, if any at all, but the advantage is that she doesn't have any punish for a whiff.
Sticking close to her also gives you an opening as soon as she lands, for which I use Fortuitous Phoenix, because while usually only the first three hits actually land, the last spinning vertical slash prevents Alma from countering immediately as she starts to fly again, as she'll cancel any retaliation into a dodge.

I think you can Flying Swallow her when she just lands on the floor (not when she's running). I did it pretty often on hard. Might try again but I can't reach first save point on master ninja lol.

Honestly, after reading all the comments on how annoying people think she is and me already attempting her over 10 times, just to have her get knocked down with this unbelievably easy strategy...

If I'm not mistaken aren't there life of the gods on the tower in chapter 15? Or is it different on MN?

Hey JTB, I don't know if it's the same on Ninja Gaiden Black, but I play SIgma. The Inazuma doesn't knock her down, but I am able to flying swallow whenever she's on the ground. I had no problem beating her doing that. It's a 50/50 chance, but it still works.

Yo JayT! 2 Running slash attacks do more damage than a flying swallow but it has to connect 5 times lol

Luckily I have all weapons leveled up all the way, Talisman Rebirth, full health, and plenty of stuff to build my health back up at this point. Only thing now, is I think I might have missed a couple of the golden scarabs to probably get the light saber(but I did manage to get the light saber on Hard), but to be honest the light saber is pretty much like the dragon sword that looks like a light saber for the most part. Not a huge deal if you don't have it. All my ninpos are at least level 2 except for Inferno being maxed at this point.
when is she vulnerable? when can i flying swallow her?
just beat her and it seems random. try hitting her with FS when shes using her single orb or throwing rocks. it works sometimes. as long as shes not moving. FS makes it a joke tho provided it hits. im not sure if the blocking is random or not.

I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention Windmill Slash (>X) into Violent Gale (running XX) to i.frame through her dash. Works pretty solidly once you get the timing down. Also dodging her dash and then punishing with XXY with the Kitetsu or >Y with the Dabi into Inferno is a true punish since she cannot dodge in that recovery for whatever reason. Though maybe you're saving this for the follow-up? Since it is more dangerous stuff.
All in all though, still great video! Was looking foward to this one!
You got it. These videos are intended for brand new players, ones that might be fighting these bosses for the first time. At that point in you're not going to have the knowledge to use things like windmill slash. That will come with time.
Gotta say this method, while being a bit tricker to get the timing down, seems a lot more effective. The ET never seems to do anything to her when it connects.
Curious. Could x hurt her? I wasn't sure after her charge you could do a combo on her.
Cuz I love Dabi and wasn't sure if any fast move could work when you dodge her charge

Playing Sigmas She's somewhat different. Her fireballs are easy to dodge and you can get a flying swallow by dodging towards her. Also Figured out that windmill slash was much more useful than anything really on this video. I think the fight is just somewhat different on sigma.
A bit of advice Izumi drop the help on her does a nice piece of damage on her!
What if I haven’t got the art of inazuma ? It’s because y pass it ( hard difficulty) after defeating the dragon ... fuck
Bro im pretty sure that in the original Ninja Gaiden Black for Xbox the minions helping her were these massive black demon crabs with lasers which made this fight 100% harder.

never really thought of Awakened Alma being the hardest boss in the game, I thought that was ghost doku.
It's mad that I could be ghost doku when I was 4 years old but can't beat him now at 17

This is probably my most hated boss of any video game I've ever played.
It's not even a boss, it's a puzzle. In an action game.
The thing I like most about her is that she'll always be challenging, since she can always randomly dodge/block.
She's by far the most annoying boss to hit. I get so frustrated that I start making mistakes and she kicks my ass. I'd rather fight Ishtaros any day.
This boss is poorly designed and not fun to fight. This encounter ruined my experience with this game. Pity
Sigma is a terrible game I've given up I killed her on hard 1 in 20 times they made her invulnerable and my controller is broke I think because he rarely does flying swallow anymore which I used to catch her. Then when I beat her I got killed by the berserker after have to fight her again. Games a piss take think I'll snap in half.
This games difficulty is owed almost entirely to the garbage camera controls and enemies having broken hit boxes and grab spam
@@3headedsnake388 aw yeah don't get me started on the camera angles. It's crap that bosses Can just one shot you and have unblock able grabs yet your attacks are terrible. Plus the amount of enemies that just keep spawning in. I prefered the original ng1 the amount of new bosses is over the top.
