  • Amazon has invested $4 billion in Anthropic, a startup that has developed an AI named Claude, which reportedly surpasses OpenAI's ChatGPT in various capabilities. Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI engineers, emerges as a key rival to OpenAI, especially after OpenAI's partnership with Microsoft. This investment is part of Amazon's strategy to enhance its position in both the cloud computing market and the broader AI industry.
The AI sector is divided into four main categories: hardware manufacturers like Nvidia, AI model developers like OpenAI and Anthropic, application developers that build on these models, and companies specializing in data operations for AI training. Amazon plans to capitalize on its cloud infrastructure to support AI model development and to offer personalized shopping experiences using AI on its platform. The company also looks to integrate advanced AI with its robotics to potentially improve order fulfillment times significantly.

I don't think amazon will be sole winner. Google and many more companies will take a good share.
