Yeah there are some pretty rare ones out in the sticks. I search eBay everyday, even if my budget Isn’t right, gotta keep an eye out for random ultra rare ones that pop up. I was unaware of this until recently but apparently Kyosho used to be big on doing small batch runs of specialty Autoscales & only releasing them to the Japanese domestic market… makes it impossible to figure out what all they have released since they would only produce a handful, provide zero marketing material & they needed up in collections that never see the light of day 😫
I also noticed the prices have been skyrocketing. I've been browsing for a body for your DRZ2 I just picked up. Car should be here today! I'll just use one of my current bodies for now.
Yeeee! I’m excited to see what you think of it. Just be aware if your not using an R32 shell the weight balance might be off so you may need to adjust the electronics layout & battery position. Weight imbalances are very subtle in this scale & can reek havoc on a car if not properly balanced. Just something to keep in mind.
@@Jasta315 perfect! Next thing to consider it the battery. That 280mah was the perfect weight for me & I noticed when I would use heavier batteries the car would go to sh*t. Just keep the overall weight distribution in mind & you will be fine. I’m glad to hear the chassis is arriving today!! That’s perfect, just in time for the weekend 😸

I'm using the DRZv2, Drift Art 2.5 Summer Edition & the XRX. Drift Art is by far & away the best chassis, really no comparison. Between the DRZv2 & XRX its a toss up, XRX has much a better steering system & the DRZ has much better weight balance but its difficult to build & trouble shoot since the plastics quality is trash. Im not sure what the mustang patrol car is but it sounds like its toy grade, not hobby grade, so modifying into a consistent drift misel will be extremely difficult, if not impossible. My suggestion would be to save up until you have a solid budget of around $500-$700 & get a hobby grade drift chassis like the Drift Art.

I have been on the fence for over a month on which kyosho mini z to get. I’ve been in rc for over 30 years but never knew about this particular hobby that’s all the rave. So Hobbytown sells the ready set rtr and then a brushless model of course you get no wheels or tires or receiver or radio. To simplify my question, I would just like to get one that if I decide to upgrade it, the parts are readily available anywhere and not limited and upgrading isn’t a issue. I feel like the ready set for $179.99 would be my best bet as long as I can upgrade anything I want and be able to put a brushless motor in if possible down the road. Or is that even possible to do to any of them. Anyhow your help would be much appreciated, thank you.
Yes you can upgrade the stock chassis to brushless but its not worth its since it will cost nearly as much as the brushless evo chassis. Unless your racing an open class then you don't need a Evo, the stock RTR will do you just fine & if you get into racing down the road you can always upgrade or buy a new one (we all end up buying more & more 🤣) Let me know if you have any further questions, I'm happy to help!
Yes there are a few outstanding bodies out there but I don’t race so I’m not an expert. That said I know the Ferrari F430 is outstanding for 94mm & so are the JGTC Supra’s, for 98mm I know the Audi R8 is king since it’s rounded & can take a beating (bounces off the rails). There are other bodies that are very well balanced but those are the ones I know off the top of my head.
Don’t worry about it, the motor will get hot & it only decreases the life of the motor. You want to keep it as cool as possible but don’t worry too much about it, I’ve never had one break on me.
where can I get alloy motor mounts for the ma020? I found the alloy motor heatsink but cant find the motor mounts?? I'm running a 32623GTV fully stock and I don't like how hot the motor gets.
@@fiend9514 yes & no. The motor touches the heat sinks & the sinks sit on top of the clip so the heat has an easy path through the mounts into the clip & out to the air. The clip does touch the motor a bit & it will help a little with heat but it won’t be nearly as effective without the mounts.
@@BMR3 Ok. one more question. I found a 3Racing motor mount and they have A1 A2 A3 options. I assume a1 would be the stock configuration so is that what I should get?

@@Jasta315 basically if your using a heavier battery, you may want to put it on a lower center of gravity.

They are about as good quality as the price. I have never purchased one but I believe Beaver’s Hobby Channel has the mustang if you want more info.

Don’t worry about it, the motor will get hot & it only decreases the life of the motor. You want to keep it as cool as possible but don’t worry too much about it, I’ve never had one break on me.

The heat sinks can be very hard to find in stock. I bought my from Kenon Hobby but you might have better luck checking eBay & the Facebook groups
