    Very cool!!
    I have a Ma020 r32 kit(dark grey) the rear seems to sit funny againt the Ma020. One wheel seems to be a little more in vs the other and the same wheels seems to be a little off center in the rear arch. Nothings bent or something like that. Have you experienced this with the r32 mounting to mini z chassis?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yup, it sounds like the little white tabs inside your R32 body are not perfectly aligned causing the body to sit awkwardly on the chassis.
      You can VERY carefully pry the white tabs out with something like a dental pick, or I have used the flat blade of an exaco knife. You just need to wedge something in between the white clip and the body and VERY VERY carefully & slowly pull the tab off. Sometimes they come off easy and sometimes they are a bitch.
      Once you have them off, just clean off the old adhesive and reglue them back on the body as far down and evenly as you can.
      Alternatively, you can go the full boat and swap over to magnet mounts. Highly recommend going with magnet mounts since it makes changing the batteries 10,000x easier & you don’t put stress on the body by prying it off the chassis every time.

      @CokePopLabs Před 2 lety +1

      @@BMR3 had to do alot of trimming on the front end and had to file the offset on my wheels, but now i use the s13 body cus i found out that it fits without any rubbing as well and has perfect fitment so it looks super clean

      @@CokePopLabs so your running a zero offset rim right? I noticed that I had to put zero offset rims on my R32 & has to sand down the linkages so the rim dident rub, but how did you get the S13 to fit? Did you cut down the linkages or sand the arms?
      That’s awesome you got such a narrow body on the XRX!

    • @CokePopLabs
      @CokePopLabs Před 2 lety +1

      @@BMR3 yea ive got 0 offset on all the wheels, i had to cut down the plastic that you screw the metal bit into on the ball cups to be able to make em shorter and had to sand them like u said so they dont rub the wheels and for the steering links i had to trim the metal piece with some wire cutters to be able to screw the 2 ball cup ends together closer took me about 2 months to get it running with no issue but now it runs amazing

    Can those bodies be used on a mini z or are the just model cars?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  Před rokem

      These are Mini-Z bodies, they are called "autoscales" since they double as models, but you can also drive them around.

  • @riderdav
    @riderdav Před 2 lety +2

    I want to get a 1:28 drifter. I like the idea of mini z’s but I kind of want more options. I might do some racing as well on RCP tracks. Any recommendations? Around $500, $600 if extra stuff needed

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  Před 2 lety +3

      GLA is a good option, especially with the hyper crank to add extra steering angle. You can drift it (some consider AWD power sliding & not true drifting) but you can also turn around & slap grip tires on it to turn some wick lap times.
      To be honest with your budget you could get both the ma-020 & a MR-03 so one is dedicated for drift & the other for grip/racing.

    • @riderdav
      @riderdav Před 2 lety +1

      @@BMR3 thanks man!! In terms of performance can the mini Z’s compete with a lot of stuff out there? (Like gla, drz etc..) Just trying to find bang for buck. Thanks for the content, making me excited to join the dark side!

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  Před 2 lety

      @@riderdav muwahahaha! Welcome to the dark side
      To be honest, the mr-03 can hold its own against other RWD chassis on a grip track, but the ma-020 can’t hold a candle any dedicated RWD drift chassis.
      It depends on what you plan on doing the most. Will you be racing with others or driving home alone (like me)? If your a lone wolf I would say get a dedicated RWD drift chassis like the DRZv2 or Drift Art & have fun with it. If you decide you want to “race” around the house then you can reverse the gyro direction, severely limit the steering angle & slap some grippy tires on there.
      However, if you plan on going to a track to race or even play around with friends in a grip situation, you want a dedicated racer chassis.
      You can pick up a rtr mr-03 for under $200 & you can build a DRZv2 for around $300 if you have a transponder (keep in mind $300 is a conservative estimate, electronics will be a big variable).
      Also keep in mind that a drift chassis can carry a lot of speed if your just driving around the house in a large wide open area (like a hallway connect to a living room. Lots of area to gain speed & a wide open space to throw her into).

    • @riderdav
      @riderdav Před 2 lety +1

      @@BMR3 I think I’ve decided, I’ll get a dedicated rwd. I feel like I’ll have more fun as I’m just lone wolf at the moment. One last question (I’m sorry) if you could pick between drzv2/ XRX/ GL what would you pick?

    • @BMR3
      @BMR3  Před 2 lety

      @@riderdav DRZv2 hands down. The Drift Art 2.5 summer edition is a better chassis but it’s ALOT more complicated to build.
      GL & XRX have a sliding rack for steering that I’m not a fan off. DRZv2 uses a bell crank. Just some random info.
