    Jiraya didn't trained them because of prophecy he did it out of kindness to make them survive war, he thought about prophecy when he saw renegan so timeline makes sense that this time he believed minato to be child of prophecy

    • @alexandrenamor8463
      @alexandrenamor8463 Před 3 lety +14

      True, he had no reason to think that one of them was the Child of Prophecy at this point, specially after so many failed attempts to find him/her. The fact that Nagato literally had the eyes of the "God" of the Shinobi World must have made Jiraiya think it was more likely that it was Nagato rather than Minato.

      @@LustArt How so? Nagato lived in a war torn nation that has been consistently ravaged in world wars and minor conflicts, without any aid or relief being offered after the fact so he would already have general detestment for the great nations. He and his family also likely lived in poverty considering the rain is barely economically stable due to the constant warring of the great nations. He watched his parents whom he loved be brutally murdered as a child by Leaf ninja only developing his hate and mistrust for the great nations. After this he travelled alone for sometime, finding companionship with a dog that he became attached to because he literally had nothing else going for him in his depressing life, he is still a child here.
      Eventually he meets Konan and Yahiko and for the first time in his life, finds some stability and peace. Short lived however as world war still rages on and numerous times they are caught up in explosive battlefields, where eventually his dog is killed, the first good thing that happened to him after his parents were murdered.
      I haven't even gotten to all the other mayhem they go through and this already sounds depressing as hell. Living in the rain would legit be like living in places like Palestine. That's no way to live.

      The thing that makes Pain/Nagato such a great character for me is not exactly about how sad his past was. Of course the things that happened to him + the way that he was led to think he was the sole responsible for fixing the world is still sad (and certainly seeing his past is good and important to understand his character better). But what makes him such an incredible character for me is more the way he understands the fucked up world he lives in, the fucked up mentality he developed because of it and the way he confronts the protagonist and forces him to "grow up" (I'm not saying I agree with what he does, but I think he's an really interesting and good character for the narrative)

Jiraiya did not even know that Nagato had a Rinnegan at this point. He just wanted to help them out because they were orphans from a war torn country, too poor and too weak to do anything by themselves. Jiraiya took them in because he wanted to help them fend for themselves. There are real life counterparts to this like orphans from war torn nation of Syria. Maybe if you think of things from their standpoint you might understand how hard life is in other third world countries. People would to anything to survive and cling onto life.

    while the man in the house not giving Nagato anything to eat can be seen as someone just being greedy and hoarding food, which is a definite possibility, considering the time and place, this can also be a smart move for the one inside the house. it's during the time of war, and as such there are bound to be tons of people who are in poverty, unable to get fresh food & water like Nagato. however sometimes, those same people could be hiding weapons to go up to strangers doors, beg for food for the intent to ambush and mug those same strangers for everything they have once they have their trust, even for a second, not unlike what they tried at the market.
    but considering they don't outright say it, it can just be open to interpretation either way, so.

    If everyone should be held accountable (which I, for the record agree with) shouldn't 90% of the shinobi world face consequences? Many people committed so many heinous crimes in this world, and we're forgiving them, or at least not talking about it, because they were on the right side of the narrative.

    • @Birthday888
      @Birthday888 Před 3 lety +3

      Yeah. Which is why Sasuke eventually decides to burn the whole thing down and start again. But really, the situation in the Rain, and in the Shinobi World in general is just fucked up. You're really left with only two choices. You either forgive and try to do better while cooperating with one another (Naruto) or burn everything down and start with a blank slate (Sasuke).
      Like, look at it from the Leaf Ninjas points of views. They're behind enemy lines, haven't eaten for some length of time, and they thought they were in an abandoned house because the civilians were supposed to have been evacuated from that area. They're probably under a great deal of stress. Then they're confronted by two adults that suddenly rush towards them. So they're going to defend themselves. It's only after everything is over that they realize Nagato is a kid. If they had noticed Nagato sooner, or if his parents hadn't attacked them, none of this would happen. But from the perspectives of Nagato's parents and the Leaf Ninjas, I'd argue that both of their actions were completely understandable. It's just that the Shinobi World and war in general is just a fucked up situation to be in.

    It is true , because Kishimoto wrote the story as he went along he had to use so many plot holes, retcons so some shinobi ages don't make sense like Kakashi's being chuunin as 6 year old and in the chuunin exam fighting Guy, and Anko also being there as a 4 year old which doesn't make sense when Kakashi is the youngest graduate from academy, also Itachi knowing who unleashed the Ninetails at the Village years ago but he didn't say anything to Village elders that he suspected it was Madara he even let him join in slaughtering the Uchiha clan ,then after he joined Akatsuki he was supposed to be a spy for Konoha then how no one knew of Akatsuki members abilities at all, Itachi doesn't make sense as a character , he was supposed to be evil at the beginning but he was retconned into good guy but he was bad at being good either, it seems all his plans relied on blind luck and chance, Sasuke not becoming crazy and commiting suicide or getting taken over by Orochimaru,Naruto dying before the crow becomes useful,dying together with his brother vs Kabuto if he didn't have another cheap jutsu from his sharingan.

      @alexandrenamor8463 Před 3 lety +2

      @@SSS-ie6mh
      Why "bad storytelling"? Do you have any idea how many times this must have happened in real life? In this scene, it is frightened civilians trying to escape enemy soldiers who have entered their home. Nagato's father surely didn't think he could fight ninjas, but attacking them first, he hoped he would surprise them and that would give his wife and son time to flee.
      And it's not to defend them, but these Leaf Shinobis are in enemy territory, in the midst of war, are apparently starving and thought all the civilians were gone. So seeing a man jump on them while they were on edge without being able to see the kid hiding in the shadows made them react right away.
      It's a scene that seems rather realistic to me to be honest.
