And the voice of tobi was him copying spiral zetsu voice.
I have been waiting for this reveal for a while and it didn’t disappoint. Lindsey’s analysis was pretty spot on as well. Now I can’t wait to see what her reaction will be to what happened to Rin. That episode is so intense and one of my favorites in the series.

cant blame him. kakashi always miss obito and he always goes to obito's grave. kakashi also feels guilty for what happen to obito.
He was also having a panic attack once he started to piece things together. You can see him hyperventilating when naruto was fighting obito.
Kakashi formed his world view based on Obito's words. He tried his best to live up to Obito's sacarfice. If I did that and that person came back and was not only the polar opposite, but blamed me, well I might react the same way.

Obito's reason for going rogue and becoming a villain was not because Rin died but her death was the reason on how Obito see the world as a failure and nothing more but a rotten world where hatred rules. Thanks to Rin's death, it made him realize that he wanted to make the plan of infinite tsukuyomi where everyone will be happy in his own view. People kept calling Obito a simp because of a simple reason of Rin dying but you'll find out the real reason soon enough.
I hate when that happens....it ruins his character

It often gets me how people don't empathize with him but assume his motivations are thickle ?Obito is actually the most human imo if you watch the world rip apart those you love hatred becomes your confidante . There's not a single person who isn't a sociopath that wouldn't end up just like obito they just like to pretend they would be more noble try being noble when your sisters guts are spilt all over the floor or your lovers or your only friends in life . Regardless of the form of love we have hatred is the risk consequence of it .less you know what's it's like to experience these things I don't think people can really understand the character they tend to either glorify or redicule rather than sees him as the sad cautionary tale of atonement his arc is . People also do the same with itachi putting him on a pedestal it's kind of grotesque to me .

@@yonyalexander3833 I think we miss the fact that Obito was at a point we're he kind of gave up on Rin and him being intimate . He already imo stupidly resigned himself to being happy and content with her just being a part of his life and the world . Rin not acknowledging his feelings would of been irrelevant to him imo it adds a depth of context to just how selfless pre kamui Obito was and to a fault too . There's a wonderful irony how the young kind child soldier giving his eye away is the reason why the cruel nialisitic harbinger of the end of reality had a Achilles heel . Again I get so invested in the many phasets of obito as a character I can't help but feel this was a magnificent mistake by kishimoto he never intended to write such a complex and incredibly human antagonist at the start .no one can plan such charecters out from the start imo

The way Rin died was a catalyst for Obito to think GENERALLY that the world is not a good place to live. He doesn't just use himself as evidence, he appeals to Kakashi and Naruto, he literally sympathizes with Kakashi saying "You don't have to stand in front of my grave every day!" and to Naruto "Neji's death is just the first on a path that's gonna cause you to relive your worst nightmare: Loneliness!"
Exactly bro. I don't know how many times he has to say it. He's mad at the shinobi world and system in general, not the fact that Rin died. This becomes even more evident when Obito says he already knew what happened to Rin.

I think Obito is a mistake tbh I don't think kishimoto these plans for the character at first I think he was a motivational plot event and nothing more .however I think like a vast amount of the greatest antagonists kinda evolved to solve writing problems . KAKASHI chronicles was a lowkey retcon imo allowing obtio to be introduced as a potential candidate for the Tobi character . The problem in the story is Obito activated the kamui pre mangekyo development . Without that thought kishimoto couldn't keep him Alive . It's fascinating how the greatest antagonist in story telling imo he is the goat ,all be that he is a brilliant accident.
I love that Madara is just that guy who shows up like a meteor crashing on earth despite being a shinobi just like everyone else who appear with barely any sound.
Obito is an perfect example of how anyone is cable of doing great evil or great good. Also the transition of Kakashi and Obito in the past to the ones in the present was so fire.

So good to finally see Lindsay’s reaction over the Obito reveal. I still wish I hadn’t got spoiled about this so early in the series. But man it is really a tragic twist of events. Makes you feel bad for Kakashi. Adult Obito’s voice actor is so good too. He has the perfect amount of distain and irritancy in his voice. The complete opposite of Tobi. We got a taster of his voice earlier in the series and it was nice discovery for me when watching your reactions prior to this moment. Guy is being a good support system for Kakashi too. Aaah and the trouble gets doubled with the real Madara showing up. You love to see it.

This was the craziest episode ever! Obito being revealed and then getting backed up by the GOAT. Obito 🔥 & Madara 🐐 vs Guy, Kakashi, Bee, Gyuki, Kurama, & Naruto! I’m so damn hyped!!!!!

Man I say this all the time it seems now but whatever new unveil we get in this arc is just so fking hype. I mean yeah we somewhat saw that coming at this point since the anime did a decent job in crossing out potential people behind the mask where even some people really held for so long that mask man was Shisui back then.
Sidenote I like how Lindsey's heterochromia seems enhanced to match the thumbnail perfectly.
Fun fact: Obito's english voice actor is Michael Yurchak who voiced the goofy Tobi persona. I also think his voice is a perfect fit for the adult Obito. Kid Obito was a character filled passion, ambition and hope. Contrast that with a voice for his adulthood that sounds raspy, harsh and hoarse befitting a character that is jaded and has suffered severe psychological and physical trauma. There is a rare scene in the Three-tails filler arc where Tobi is by himself surveying the lake where it resides before his reveal as Madara. He makes an observation in a serious tone that sounds exactly like Obito's adult voice. That is some serious foreshadowing on the part of the ADR staff lol.
Quick note: There will be an episode coming up that allows Obito to clear up his motivations. Maybe Boldcast has seen it already at this point, maybe not so I won't say much. I feel like a lot of people misjudge or don't understand Obito's character motivations right away. I think that's partially on purpose because he's a deceiver and likes to fuck with people. Just keep in mind when Kakashi asks Obito why he didn't come forward, his initial response was "It's irrelevant". He's showing more emotion than he has in the past, but he's not "deranged" at this point. He's calm and detached. If anyone is making him shaken, it's not Kakashi and his past, it's Naruto--for reason they go into later.
Obito is just broken. He's not evil, its just the cycle of hatred that got him diluted! Love him
He's both broken and evil. I'm not about to pretend killing innocents isn't evil. I always go against what Itachi did but at least he did it for the "better of the village." Obito is ruthless.

And yeah it sucks seeing people put Itachi on a pedestal and idolize him as a hero because that's exactly what he didn't want for people to do. That's why I love his character, he accepted what he had become and the consequences that came with that, not a hero nor a saint, a killer who did the dirty work and carried his burdens to the grave.

@@AshSmashReacts there was a better alternative. He could've just went for the men and let the women and children live. The survivors would have still seen Itachi as the bad guy and lost focus on the village along with man power, the surviving children grow up with a hatred for Itachi as Sasuke did and tadaa you have multiple determined Leaf Shinobi set out with a goal to avenge their clan. Izumi's death was also not great in the show and overall completely unnecessary since she loved Itachi enough to understand why he did what he did. To put it simply there's too many details in the Uchiha's eradication for me to give Itachi any props.

I wish I hadn't seen it coming. The first time they showed his Sharingan when he was talking to Nagato in the Hidden Rain the first person who clicked into my mind was Obito. I just involuntarily pieced it together.

Mistake by having the kakashi chronicles episodes to close to the Tobi introduction . So the one eyed mask was a massive give away as Obitos death scene was still fresh in my mind . One day, while Shippuden was still airing and before I properly saw it, an episode was released and I randomly decided to check it out. I had only seen OG up until Tsunade became Hokage, and I was yet to see the rest of it. The episode I saw that day just happened to be this one. I had no idea who Obito was, and I didn't know the origin story of Kakashi's Sharingan. The flashback in this episode was the first time I learned about it. Then, years later, I saw all of it properly, and that's when I realized how badly I spoiled myself.
The way they used the continuous music without any voice in Obito's childhood was itself so so so much Nostalgic, as If we are re watching a whole series.🤧💖

If it werent for kakashi who has the other eye of obito (a counter) , obito would Just play with Them he would beat Them all together. That's Why he's The strongest in the akatsuki especially after taking one eye Rinnegan from nagato. Prime nagato would smoke obito Orange mask im pretty sure, but not That version. This Rinnegan obito is Only below madara right now. And juubito beats madara.

No its not because o obito, its because of the god of shinnobi hashirama senju and hes absurd ovepowered cells lol. The one who slaped madara with a full 9 tails lead. If it wasnt for hashirama senju obito would be nearly this strong, mainly, controling the rinnegan, spaming kamui left an right (we dont know if he has the ems lol) and controling the tailed beast or potencially the 10 tails. Obito has nothing on hashirama, not even with rinnegan or 7 tails.

Tobi being Obito has been theorised and speculated by fans for an extremely long time throughout the Naruto series manga run. I myself proposed to my fellow friends this theory too. There had been many hints and clues dropped throughout the series to foreshadow this and it all depends on whether you managed to pick them up and piece them together.
1) Name: Tobi actually being Obito spelt backwards in Japanese.
2) His dimensional jutsu: Whenever he used the dimensional jutsu to teleport himself far away or to teleport others, it has the same vortex sucking motion as Kakashi's Kamui. Of course during this time not much is known about the Mangekyo Sharingan because only Itachi and Sasuke officially had them and displayed their full powers. We all thought that the Kamui is something that all Mangekyo Sharingan users can perform, like the Amaterasu and Susanoo. That is until the introduction of more Mangekyo Sharingan users and we found out that each Mangekyo Sharingan technically has their own unique jutsu, Kamui being one of them. Sasuke's Kagutsuchi was unique to him, along with Shisui's Koto-amatsukami.
3) Tobi's mask and the side of the face the Sharingan is on: We all know Kakashi's backstory of how he got his Sharingan. Kakashi's right eye got blinded, his friend Obito got crushed on the left side of his body and gave away his right Sharingan eye to Kakashi. It will explain why the right side of the mask having no eyehole and the left side having one.
4) Kakashi: Look back to his dialogues with Kakashi as Tobi. During his confrontations with Kakashi, he always seem to be overly critical or have something against him as compared to his lack of care or neutrality to other people. This signifies them having some sort of past together.
Comparisons between Obito and Naruto: both were the "competitve" members of Team 7, both like their female teammate, both wear goggles during their debut, both have the same spiky hair, both wear orange and blue outfits but with inversed colors(reflecting their contrasting paths), and both dreamed of being Hokage.

Gotta agree that the anime really did it wrong with that Kakashi flashback during the pain arc and not closer to the start like the manga. Can we just take a moment out to appreciate the love Carson has for Lindsey's entertainment? The man is explaining like the entire backstory of why Kakashi is late all the time (something I've never seen anyone else do) and how Kakashi modeled his whole life after his dead friend.. and I've not seen anyone else put that into perspective. I wish I had someone hyping me up for all this, but instead I watched every episode when they came out, blind.. all the filler (I watched every damn Naruto.. Curry of Fucking life I could of done without) and I am just blown away by the love this man his showing his girlfriend when it comes to a simple (albeit long) anime
Back in the day, when I was reading the manga, most of us manga readers used to discuss in the forums about who the guy behind the mask could be. The anticipation and hype, week after week was so amazing. All the theories people came up with and plotlines to tie up different character arcs together was so refreshing to read.
Who knows how the story could have turned out if it was Izuna Uchiha (Madara's younger brother) or Shisui Uchiha (Itachi's friend) or Kagami Uchiha (Shisui's grandfather who was among Danzo, Hiruzen and Tobirama before the Kinkaku/Ginkaku fight) or some kind of character having both Uzumaki and Uchiha clan's bloodline who could basically tie up the storyline about why the Uzumaki clan got wiped out.
When Obito said Rin was the (MAIN) reason Kakashi, he was then just toying with Kakashi's feelings, he did say "Relax Kakashi" and then began laughing.

The parallels in this show are amazing. Kakashi and Obito both have scars on each side of their faces, both have worn a masks a majority of there lives, and just so much more

Sasuke’s and Obitos English voice actors are probably the best , naturally some lines sound out of place than the Japanese original that can’t be helped but obitos adult voice seem like the only that sounds natural throughout the reminder of the show. And I mention Sasuke’s because his voice actor can portray the pain so well especially in episode 332, and 371 Obitos was great

Fun fact, in dub the true voice of Obito is the same one he used as Tobi. You can’t tell the difference since the Voice actor did an incredible job at changing it. In the three tails filler arc, in the dub version, you can actually hear Obito use his deranged voice when he finds the beast.

The way they decided to just give away Tobi's identity though that flashback montage first is so stupid. Even if you didn't figure it out after it turned out he wasn't Madara and realized Tobi's name was just Obito's scrambled, it ruins the whole reveal

2 GNW was when the legendary sanin got there name and when Jiriaya found the 3 orphans (Nagato, Yahiko and Konan) and when decided to stayed with them and trained with them with 3 years and left them during this time too. Also this was around the time when Kushina was brought to the village and was in an attempt kidnapping from the Cloud. This is also when Sakumo Hatake committed suicide.
3rd GNW
The 3rd GNW is where we know more of Minato beating the stone shinobis, Obito "dieing", Minato fighting A and B and also the time when Sasori was named "Sasori of the Red Sand" and left the Sand Village and killed the 3rd Kagekage.
I kinda don't like the execution of Obito's reveal, I wish what they could have done is have last episode ended with Naruto blowing up Tobi's mask and then revealing his face to be Obito, leaving it off in a cliffhanger and this episode opens up with all the flashbacks of Young Obito, with Kakashi, Rin and everybody. I think the shock factor is twisted because all the flashbacks take you out of the moment of the big reveal, that everybody's wanted since Tobi was first introduced before we even learned of Madara. alas, that's just how I feel it should have been directed.

For me I never believed Tobi when he said that he was Madara, there were some things that just didn't add up, and then when Kabuto showed up to the Akatsuki hideout and showed Tobi that final corpse in the coffin and I saw how scared Tobi was that's what confirmed it for me, because there was no one powerful enough to scare Madara like that. After that I ran through all of the potential suspects for who Tobi could be, and it wasn't long before I realized that it was Obito.

Which is true tbh, Madara doesn't give up like how Naruto doesn't give up, Madara has dream that he wants to fulfill like how Naruto had a dream he wants to fulfill. Madara's is such a "protagonist" he was good writing and has a good motivation and has somewhat the same plot armor as Naruto (somewhat, if you know you know). But I think it's funny that this is true to Madara.

I think what the other piece here is how Obito was Naruto if Naruto went bad, it’s the other side of the coin. Where Naruto saved Sasuke vs Haku and we saw glimpses of what if Naruto went down the dark path, Obito wanted to be Hokage, wanted Rin to like him, Wanted to be the best for his village…and had insane power. He’s the Shadow to Naruto light and you get to see both sides of the coin which is a powerful part of the show.
What if Orochimaru turned Naruto and not Sasuke. What if Sasuke was the good guy…etc.

Honestly the placement of Kakashi's backstory didn't really affect me, either way, especially since around that point, I was still so convinced he was Madara that it dispelled the original theory of him being Obito for me, and then when the real Madara appeared, it still could've felt pretty open ended from my perspective, even if I saw the Kakashi part later, so I don't fault the anime's airing in any way, especially since the NARUTO Shippuden series would make a lot more sense to start with Naruto returning to the village from their standpoint
This is why I think Obito was a plot motivator and meant to just be dead . But kishimoto needed a second Madara to get himself out the corner he wrote himself in . How to have Madara dead but still walking the earth . You can see kishimoto broke consistency with Obito activating kamui before he aquired mangekyo . Also for me they had the KAKASHI chronicles episode way to close to the introduction of the one eyed masked Tobi so I assumed it was obito but I think originally your correct the man behind the mask was meant to be madara at first in kishimotos mind imo
