This is such an incredible fight. This is really the kind of set piece that a show like this deserves. Its so intense, so beautifully directed. The music, the editing, EVERYTHING.
A lot of people had a lot of things to say about Lindsay take on Sasuke last episode. I just want to remind everyone that Lindsay is watching this for the first time, and that she has always had a sour opinion of sasuke. We will likely be doing a deep dive into Sasuke's character in a seperate discussion in the future. @@sinless4088 I think the sharingans precognition kinda levels the playing field in terms of combat speed but in terms of movement speed at least in the boruto era Sasuke enhances his speed with his lightning release to keep pace with naruto I think it was called lightning style body flicker although I don't know if he had it at this point

This fight goes from epic to heartbreaking almost instantly. Onto my favorite episode of the series 478. beautifully animated emotional masterpiece.
478 is so good. Its amazing how after everything this series went through, especially toward the end, that something this long and meandering can have such a satisfying conclusion.
I donât think you gave Sasuke enough credit for thinking things through. Heâs literally saying that Narutoâs dream is too good to be true. Thereâs been peace in the past and someone always screws it up. To be fair, he is describing it like a dictatorship, but heâs essentially saying everyone can live happily. Heâs not going to control villages through combat and heâs not power hungry. But the minute a Madara or Danzo shows up to start a war, he can pay them a visit. Danzo didnât start wars, but he committed war crimes for the âsake of the village.â Killing the beasts is kinda heartless, but itâs intended as nuclear disarmament. I donât support the plan, but it doesnât sound as evil or stupid as rendering everyone catatonic or dead.
We gave it more than enough credit. His plan is just as naive as naruto's, just in a different way. He came up with this plan less than 24 hours ago, and expects that with all of of his psychological baggage, he will stay vigilant and just as empathetic as naruto over all of eternity. Just as empathetic, even though he's on more than one occasion fought with the intent to kill all of the people who care for him most and just want the best for him. Up until breakfast this morning, his entire goal in life was to kill everyone in hate and revenge. Then after one day we're supposed to believe that this guy has it all figured out? he's a 17 year old kid with more trauma than anyone else currently alive. And we're suppose to trust this unhinged child with the lives of millions?
I like Sasuke, even if Lindsay doesn't. But this plan is terrible. Eternity is a LONG time and he is not mentally prepared for this promotion. As evidenced by the fact that he immediately changes his mind at the end of this fight. because in the end, he wasn't actually concerned with the lives of random people all over the world. What reason does sasuke have to care about people a world away when he can't bring himself to let his best friends get close without killing them? No reason.
The entire point of this plan is to show us how far his trauma has taken him, to reinforce the shows main ideas.

Iâve always enjoyed that Sasuke kinda has the most character development in the series even if itâs not always in a positive direction.

He is emotionally intense and just like a real person, doesn't have a perfect hold on his psychology. He genuinely thinks he's right, but just stop and consider what he's actually saying and what he's been through (and consider how things eventually turn out), and you'll see not some perfect edgelord badass, but something a lot more human and flawed. and that is WAY better to me.

5:00 No he didnât. Danzo never took on any of the hatred himself. He handed that responsibility over to a 14 year old boy. Itachi alone bore the hatred for the benefit of the village and thatâs what Sasuke was trying to emulate. Not sending others to do his dirty work but doing it himself. Thatâs why he was so fixated on being alone. To make it easier. Sasukeâs true flaw is that he doesnât have faith in anyone but himself to be able to do this the same way he alone tried to carry the task of avenging his clan too.

No Carson, Hagoromo meant that the tailed beasts themselves don't need to do anything because Naruto already has their chakra. The two things needed to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi are the chakra from the tailed beasts, and the Rinnegan.

Actually if you are not aware, it has been hinted and protrayed throughout the entire series of both Naruto and Shippuuden that naruto uses his Clones when he feels cornered into a tough position and also it helps him feel less isolated. But it was never mentioned directly in the series until now, when Sasuke finally revealed that naruto's clones is actually a weakness because he only does it when ever he feels like he needs the numbers to help take down his opponents, thus making him more vurnable to attack.
Although it kind of ridiculous because naruto at this point is no longer lonely only sasuke is so the entire thing is kind of null

@@dancarli8639 Well part of it makes sence though. I remember talking about this at great lengh when this chapter was first published. It is different for manga readers then anime fans, because we deduce and analysis every little panel and scene for a whole week well waiting for the next chapter. This paticular moment was interesting because its the first time that anyone in the manga stated that his clones are there just to cover up his loniness and solitary lifehood. It kind of hit us readers like "wow so someone finally had the balls to admit this directly to naruto" It stabbed him right where it hurt, both metorphically and psychologically. Its funny how people would make such a great deal over something like that but its quite significant when you think about naruto as a character and why he feels safe with all his clones all the time.

I kinda understand Sasuke now. The guy just has clinical depression. I don't mean it as a joke, but I know a girl irl, very close friend of mine, she suffers from depression since she lost her dad to an accident. I'm not gonna pretend I am her Naruto or something like that but her actions are exactly the same as how Sasuke behaves here. The sad part about storing up this sadness inside you and bottling it up is that it eventually puts you in a place where no one can actually make sense for you, all you can really do is be there for them. I made her watch Naruto last year and Sasuke immediately became her favorite character and she even said that she sees herself in him. So when I rewatched this episode today with you guys Sasuke's actions suddenly made a lot of sense to me and infact it's Naruto's actions which imo are kinda nonsensical but that's why he is the hero of the show and the mc of Jiraiya's novel. He is 'better' than the average person and has a unique perspective on life and what it means to be a shinobi that puts him above everyone else in the show.
This show is almost over damn, quite the journey, don't think I have actually stuck around for the full show episode after episode, everyday for any reaction channel lmao you guys are cool. I am seriously not into Boruto tbh but I'll stick around, I know most anime reaction channels lose some viewership once Naruto gets over but you guys are like a TV series for me at this point lmao. I think youâre giving Naruto too little credit by calling his actions nonsensical. Naruto took the entire series to develop and use this final battle to show Sasuke everything heâs learned-not just in combat, but using all his past experiences and trauma and encounters with so many different people to form the perspective and empathy that he has now.
He didnât have any of that when he fought Sasuke the first time at the end of Part 1. His unique perspective doesnât come just from him being the main character-over these 400+ episodes, we saw Naruto genuinely suffer and try to learn and understand the perspectives of so many different people before maturing into the person he is now.
so no one's mentioning my boy finally mastering a one handed rasengan in the middle of the fight? anyway tho, this fight was probably the highlight of my entire life ngl, the most emotionally invested in anything, Sasuke still at least this time thought out his plans (while not that practical but I mean that he considered all perspectives) an incredible journey it's been so far with ups and downs

I like how in the first fight they had in part 1 where Naruto and Sasuke start out slow and as the fight progresses it ramps up in intensity and power. But in this fight they start off fighting hard using all they have in big attacks and it trickles out into this exhausted fist fight between teenagers. Reminded me of the 1st Pokemon movie tbh.
Another thing I was just randomly thinking about was the reincarnation of Indra and Ashura. When Madara first died he was very old. But somehow Sasuke is still a year older than Naruto despite Hashirama dying awhile ago who is also the reincarnation of Ashura. Which leads me to believe that Ashura waits for Indra to reincarnate so that he can follow his brother and live along side him again.

And he's not wrong about that. Back at the five kage summit, they spent the entire first part agruing amongst themselves. It wasn't until after Madara(Obito) declared war on them that they finally started working together. What do you think would have happened if Obito never showed up there? Do you think they would have ever come to a consensus? That's why Sasuke believes having a common enemy is necessary. And he thinks he's the only one who should have to suffer a fate like that.

Sasuke mentioned the Akatsuki, Madara, and Kaguya not because he has the same goals as them, but because he believes that the only reason the Five Nations became unified is because they had a common enemy.
He doesnât believe in Madaraâs Infinite Tsukuyomi plan or rule a dictatorship without pain like Pain did-he wants everyone to keep their free will, but theyâll all continue to be challenged and put under strife by him and him alone.

This comment was just going over Sasukeâs perspective and explaining his whole plan, and why he felt the way he did here. Itâs still wrong and irrational but you get why he feels that way.
Heâs only like, half-right, because the only reason the Five Nations DID learn to find peace together is because of a common enemy, and from common suffering. But itâs not how people should live permanently.
So just some insight into what Sasuke was really trying to achieve because I think you guys slightly misinterpreted his intentions. So he wasn't attempting to become another Madara as he never had any plans of forcing people into a genjutsu world or murdering innocent people to achieve his goals. He wanted to basically force the entire world into peace via fear of himself and his own power. So basically, he would be soooo powerful and sooo "threatening" (although he never intended to murder anybody other than the Kage) that the other villages would be forced into peace out of fear of his retaliation. So in his eyes, the world would be a peaveful place as fighting amongst villages wouldn't be actively happening because if it did, he would've stepped in and obliterated the people who caused the disturbance in the peace. He was inspired by Itachi's life as a "rogue shinobi" and wanted to use a similar method of existing in the shadows as a mysterious overwelmingly powerful force who threatens to destroy anybody and anything that gets in the way of world peace.
So just to clarify, Sasuke wasn't evil. He truly thought his way was the only way to ensure that the wars and fighting would end. He was willing to sacrifice his happiness and basically his life in order to oversee a peaceful world by using force and submitting into peace out of fear of his power.

This fight was cool and I'm really glad the anime added Kirin into the fight, since Kishmoto didn't have it in manga and a lot of fans weren't very happy that it wasn't there.
This is Sasuke's plan.
1. Kill the JInchuriki host of all nine Tailed Beasts, Naruto Uzumaki.
2. Kill the Five Kage while they are still trapped inside the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
3. Use the power of the Tailed Beasts and the power of his Rinnegan to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi and free the remaining people trapped inside.
4. Kill the Tailed Beasts so that nobody can abuse their power ever again. Not even him.
5. Begin building his perfect village.

It is difficult not to get emotional when watching Naruto form his last Rasengan of the fight. It showed all the people that had helped influenced and shaped his life and path, and how their wills will always be with him, starting with Jiraiya whom had laid the path out for him unknowingly all those years ago according to the prophecy.

I'm the type of guy that loves "the road continues" more than anything, I can listen to it in the gym, while cooking, while reading a book and whilst sleeping. It actually gives me feels, and strength. This will definitely be played at my funeral.
One cool thing I love is how the design of the Indra Susanoo resembles the Gedo Statue. Even the lightning that shoots from the back looks the weird stumps that the Gedo statue had.
Such a beautiful moment when Kurama says he will give his last chakra to Naruto and then go to sleep and Naruto holds up his arm with a fist and a smile of confidence that just spells "Believe in me, sleep well and see you soon."
Such and awesome fight til the very last of both of their chakra depleted, neither of them standing over the other one as a clear winner, so perfect

The people im these comments talking about agreeing with Sasuke have no idea of what the fear of living under a dictator does to you which is exactly what Sasuke is proposing. Yes we understand his viewpoint, but all that would lead to is more fighting. People planning assassinations to kill him. People cannot find true peace this way. In the same way Pain wasnt exactly right, the same goes for Sasuke. If you werent such fanboys you would have seen that.

It's one ( if not the ) most anticipated fight in a anime/ manga for the viewers and it's amazing and extremely difficult to satisfy and even surpass this anticipation. In addition they already have a legendary fight in the first part, to create parrallels to the first one and at the same time encompass their relationship with this final fight (and the next episode ) it's a stunning performance. The anime ( and even the story itself )has some problems that pretty much everyone knows but when it's really important the staff put all their souls and we feel it. Congratulations to Kishimito and Studio Pierrot.

To be honest, Naruto's (the show) entire future wouldn't have been peace if it wasn't for the Akatsuki. The 5 villages would have never united and the 4th Great Ninja War will come eventually but among the 5 villages instead. It's not ideal but nothing bonds people more than a common enemy.
Tbf present Naruto isnât much different. A big part of why the animosity among villages has died down besides the fact that they all fought together once is because Naruto and Sasuke could solo every other person on the planet with their eyes closed. Their existences alone serve as great deterrents lol

It's taken from Hinduism, Indra is the God of Lighting in Hinduism. Who usually carry his Bow and lighting arrows. he's leader of Gods faction during war.
Ashura is faction of demons or Demigods or different faction of gods (depends on what are your sources, Hinduism is huge religion).
But asthetic of Naruto here is definitely taken from Brahma, Hindu god of Creation. With 3 arms and 3 faces.

I feel like any time ya'll try to poke a hole in his plan it's either completely irrelevant or gets answered, and then the answer gets completely ignored... I mean it's expected but it seems like ya'll never really gave him a chance in the first place. I mean the final villain super genius isn't that dumb that you can dismantle his plan in secounds lol
Our main problem is that his plan is short sighted, and that he isn't in the right state of mind to accomplish peace in a true sense. So he has redefined peace in a way that is convenient for his want for destruction.
He is just as if not more naĂŻve than Naruto, and his plan is just as "peaceful" as Madara/Pain's plans. Which is to say, not very.
He has been broken by the current system and is justifiably scourned, and he is letting his own spite color his opinion of the future. So in response he wants to wipe the current slate clean of its governing bodies and rule over everything as an immortal-six-paths-vampire at the top of a fascist dictatorship founded on terrorism. He is willing to kill those closest to him , those who only want the best for him. What happens when families numbered in the tens of thousands no longer interest him? What will this bitter and resentful person do when they are completely personally disconnected from their subjects? Nothing peaceful, I would imagine.
But in the end, we're not even meant to take his plan this far because the entire point of this argument is not to make us think, "Wow, Sasuke's got a real good head on his shoulders. This plan is super logical and well thought out, and I'm sure if anyone knows how to create world peace, THIS is the dictator I'd want!" NO.
The entire point is to show just how far he's gone. How far into the darkness does someone have to be before their ultimate dream is to literally carry the hate of the world. He's not some benevolent genius infallable god. He's a broken 17 year old boy who has GOOD reason to be pissed off at the world. But just because his hatred is justified, doesn't make fascist totalitarianism good.
@@BOLDcast He's not the same kid from the 5 kage arc, even saying that destruction doesn't interest him, pains plan involved continually killing most of the population and having everyone fear and hate each other, while madara wasn't even concerned with reality and completely gave up on it, basically planing to end the world. Itachis life, conversations with the five kage and madara, and the inevitable truth of the world that if left unchecked, there will always be conflict and war, "darkness" as he refers to it, is what led to his opinion of the future. I'm sure him being the edgy emo boy also has something to do with his vision, but he was going off of only emotions till he met itachi in the war, after which he purposefully ignored his emotions to speak to the kage and make actually informed decisions. Getting rid of the kage who would unite people to war again instantly and the tailed beasts which basically caused most of the shinobi problems is also very necessary to the plan and not something done out of spite. Likening him to a real life dictator I feel isn't very accurate either, since he doesn't stand to gain anything for what he does. He isn't out to further his nation or himself, nor does he have any interest in fucking with random families, he exist only to stop conflict. You don't try to start a war and you don't get fucked, simple as that. Even then becouse he's all powerful he wouldn't even have to probably do anything, his mere existence would deter war. Also it's pretty well established that he cares deeply about those closest to him, but is able to suppress these emotions to further his goal. Him wanting the world the hate him isn't a twisted dream, it's the sacrifice his willing to make for peace. Saying sasuke would lose himself after while and just go insane and fuck everything up is a completely valid argument (tho not really part of the plan lol), and I'd agree if this was irl and he was just an edgy 17 year old, but these anime characters are already shown to have literal infinite drive and resolve, sasuke himself already forfeiting his life and happiness in his pursuit of itachi, and now this which is much bigger than just himself. You may argue he'd go insane, or get older and wiser and find a way to keep himself sane, it's not really something you can say with certainty, nor is it a critique of the plan per say since it requires it to go wrong. Also it's important to remember that the alternative is to basically let the fucked up world that ruined his and so many other lives just continue as it is, even now with the power to change it.

Imagine the threat of simply disagreeing with Sasuke and he drops a Chibaku Tensei meteor on your village! Like I said I understand Sasuke and his motivations and why he thinks the way he does, but his conclusion here is wrong.

It would have been more interesting if you had asked lindsay about who does she think would win at the end, sasuke or naruto.
Sasuke planned on stepping into the shadows. He would bear the hatred of the whole world. All of it, from minor countries to great nations, all hate would be focused on him and not on each other, and the second it was starting to move the other way, he would step in and act, and cause the hate to move squarely back onto him. He wasn't power hungry or wanting to be the next Madara; he was going to save the world the only way he knew how; become the Hokage as he thinks the mantle is supposed to be. A symbol for hate and suffering upon the bearer.

I like how this is literally theire characters down to the T...like Madara and Hashi they both want the same thing just differ on how to go about it.
Sauske's thinking is far more forward, practical and pessimisticly extreme than Naruto's because that's his character. He understands that while it might be peaceful because he and Naruto live and could rekt any village what happens after they are gone? Realisticly, and historically they will go back to fighting. So he takes a stupidly extreme measure.
Naruto is a now thinker, a super optimistic and extremely idealistic like he's always been. He believes that the world has seen the error of its ways and that they will now come together. While Sauske's belief is more realistic his actions to prevent it is far too extreme while Naruto's is far to carefree.
Ppl shit on Sauske but once you sit back and understand that Indra's reincarnations think like this it and it's not nesssecarily his fault it won't bother you so much, and considering that Ashra's way hasn't ever actually been able to maintain peace then maybe there is some validity to Indra's and Sasuke's points.
Basically they're both right and wrong. Them combining their ideals could make things better.
A small detail, in 32:41 the reason why naruto was able to move so fast is cause he used that moment of calmness to collect some natura chakra, thats why when you see his eyes reflected in the headband they see kind of different.

I find it super ironical, that Naruto's way of ending the cycle ended up as literally doing the "Pain" plan. Nagato wanted to create at least temporary peace via causing great pain through death and destruction caused by tail beast nuke which will make survivors not want to have another fight... And in the end we get told, that Naruto broke cycle of hatred by going through great pain brought by death and destruction caused by Madara/Great War which made survivors not want to have another fight... Naruto didn't solve anything... yes as long as the people who'll remember the pain of great ninja war live, they won't fight each other... But new generations? People/shinobi which were not part of the battlefield? For them nothing happened, just normal night => light => great dream => wake up... This makes Naruto's way basically the worse version of Pain's way, because if the immediate solution is the same, then he just removed the means to recreate the 'temporary' peace via the nuke in the future (if it does become needed)

With all its ups and downs, Naruto had a fantastic ending. The emotional weight of this final fight has me bawling. To me the series ends in 479 plus the epilogue but I guess you guys will watch Boruto. Iâll skip that, I prefer to have this high note be the last one.

if you have paid attention, six tailed naruto was able to withstand shinra tensei from pain due to raw power and foothold, here naruto was pulled by sasuke because he was in base, once he entered six paths +kcm state, sasuke doesnt even attempts any of the push pull or gravity
also its a crazy detail but please remember that using too much of the rinnegan also overloads it, 28:24
it has also happened before when pain used shinra tensei and his rinnegan temporarily disables due to overuse

when naruto grows up to adult he is able to withstand attacks much stronger than this chidori or fireball, truly a testament of his actual prime
