Hey which game was used in your intro?
It amazes me how few games there are around the early modern Era. To me that seems the pinnacle of tactical warfare and epic visuals...
It's an era almost entirely overlooked by all of media, if you ask me. Never was there a blockbuster movie or TV show about the Thirty Years War somehow, and astonishingly little on even the renaissance (a bit earlier, but still) etc
There are empire Total War and Europa universalis, and maybe some other little game but yeah this is not the most popular moment in history
It's not about unpopularity but lacks of successful entry using this time period as a theme to be utilized by game devs as point of reference
Try realpolitiks 2. I think it's what you're looking for.
that's because it's least interesting to many
Still hoping they announce TW: Empire 2
You and me both, Mace!
2023 looks like a great year for strategy games. A lot of really awesome looking titles in this video. Thanks for sharing these with us Andy, there were a couple I hadn't heard of. Exciting times, I'm so glad we are starting to see more unique strategy titles these days :)
The Great War looks the most interesting to me. I did find a few here that I had never heard of before, so I added them to my wishlist. You can never have too many on a wishlist :)
Awesome, great to know :D
I agree that looks promising. I really want a new version of the Close Combat series from the 90's early 2000's. They could do it just the same but with fabulous graphics , the ability to zoom in to individual hand to hand combat. The game play was just right for those games
Me patiently waiting for a sequel to Star Wars Empire at War.
Same :’(
Wow I hadn’t heard of many of these. Total Conflict has lots of potential, an FPS/Strategy hybrid sounds amazing!
Glad I could bring some new stuff to light! :) yeah, Total Conflict feels a bit ruff around the edges right now (obviously, it’s an early demo), but I think it can become something awesome in the future!
You should try mount and blade, it’s pretty much exactly that but medieval!
@@chrisboi584 haha I know bro ;)
Mario + Rabbids is really good
@White Fox gonna take a lot of work. I played mount & blade when it was in the early stages before it became the great full game it is known for today. It was fun, but rough. You could see the great potential it had though, like total conflict seems to look.
Had some of them on my Wishlist already. Added some new. Thanks for HeadsUp!
My pleasure, mate! :)
I played Warlord Britannia since launch and i must say that (as a roman fanboy) is awesome, very accurate historically and is good price too. Being with my own cohorts, building it's strength and getting to know each one of my legionaries is pretty cool.
By getting to know I mean learn their names and how many barbarians they kill and by that logic I upgraded and ascend them.
Yeah, that's what I love about it too! Also the music is amazing!
Thank you Andy for a great list of up and coming games.
Thank you for the nice comment, my friend!
Falling Frontier
Same! :D
Hey Andy; I keep checking back to your channel because I love your content, keep up the great work!
Thank you so much, mate! :)
Awesomeee thnx for list ❤️❤️❤️
fantastic video. you found a great selection and i wish listed almost all.
2023 looking like a good year for the Strategically minded. even got a few of those on my steam Wishlist.
Check out Tempest Rising
Total conflict is what Freeman:Guerilla warfare should had been, i'm glad that It came out, i've been itching to play Mount & Blade style game in modern setting, hope it will be good
Can't wait for Frostpunk 2 and Manor Lords 👍👍👍
I suppose the Great War one will be mostly about the start and the ending of WW1, because a game where you send thousands of soldiers to their death for close to zero progress doesn't sound like fun... or "charming" as the video keeps saying :p
Some exciting games, I am quite intrigued by The King's Orders
Where is the medieval 3 man?
I'm still looking too 😢
We need Empire 2 first
Charming review 😊
Great video, thank you.
My pleasure Tomas :)
08:50 where did you get that gameplay footage for Espiocracy? It's not in the trailer and on CZcams I can't find any.
Manor lords is the medieval 3 we needed.
Merci beaucoup. Thanks a lot for your video Sir.
Can you pls do a video on recently released strategy games just like this (2020-2022 maybe)? I'm tryna play some new games but these ones didn't come out yet. Not big games but games like this.
I’ll see if I can get around to it!
@@AndysTake yea thanks man! Waiting on it impatiently!
I really wish games like crusader kings would continue through to modern day.
Is that CK3 music I hear in the background? 😂 I like!
A man of culture!
@@AndysTake l just found your channel a few days ago. Love your vids - keep up the good work!
fun fact the map of warlord britania is the map of jersey island in the english channel
For me in this listing men of war 2 is missing especially if you speak about company of heroes 3
Good catch!
Company of Heroes is the best RTS ever made, followed closely by Supremme Commander and Sins of a Solar Empire.
Waiting for broken arrow looks like a mixture of world in conflict and wargame red dragon
Its sooo hard to beat Warhammer 3. I have tried many times to find something better but cannot.
Awesome
Can u plz make on strategy games for android?
Shit that total conflict game is such a great idea. I'm surprised it took so long for someone to create a game similar to mount & blade but set in modern era.
Díky!
Thank you so much! ❤🎉
What's that game in the display icon
Woow keren game nya, jadi pengen coba
Oh man I can't wait to play CoH3. I played Coh2 til 2021.
daaamn a loyal turtle!
What game is that at 0:05?
Homeworld 3
What about Men of War II???
Grey Eminence might become the most important game.
Homeworld 3 isnt on this list?
lot interesting games
Whoa whoa whoa Manor Lords in 2023?
Man I'd love a game like warhammer but mmo.. Like Evony was.. But not p2w.. Literally my dream game
2023 and still no empire 2 total war. Fucking hell 😢
Surprised to not see age of mythology retold in this list
Ah man I knew I forgot something!
No homeworld?
Should show the title of the game in the video
What CoH is getting a third game??? How did i not know this
Hear me out !! HEAR ME OUT !
FALLING FRONTIERS .....Horus Heresy Mode ....
0:14 game name pls
There are a lot of ads in this video. Still good though but the ads got annoying fast
Then don't look at the ads
@@FerdarPleaseSubscribe What do you think I don't know what a skip button is?? I know how ads work on CZcams you watch a little at the beginning then skip it but I had to do it like 8 times
did you get the ads all at the start? if yes, you're actually part of a test youtube is trying right now on a small percentage of users where you get many ads at the start and no ads afterwards for the entire video. they're kinda shitty for not disclosing this but yeah. if you ever get a survey saying "what do you think about the number of ads you have recently seen on youtube videos" before a video just say that you disagree. you yourself said it was annoying, just reminding you not to skip the survey
either way, i only got 1 set of 2 ads at the beginning of the video, so i dont think andy put that many in the video
Thanks for sharing, scula! You're right I didn't put many in the video, so maybe it was a fluke for JToegi! :)
Field of glory kingdoms is a big miss on your list. Field of glory empires especially when playing decisive battle on field of glory 2 was amazing and got under the radar because of imperator Rome. But the series field of glory is a must for history and strategic enthusiast. I can't wait for field o glory kingdoms.
Anyway nice video thank you for your work.
Oh really? I’ll have to look into this. I never got into these Slitherine games even though I own them… so how does Kingdoms look interesting to you?
@@AndysTake It looks really interesting to me because il loved field of glory empires and this game was set during antiquity. Field of glory kingdoms will be set during the middle ages and i prefer this tie period (i want to play as the french against England or the Russians against Mongolia). I will also have the possibility to play tactical battles with field of glory medieval which is great. The game makes you feel like you are really trying to conquer and hold your empire together it's a lot harder than in other games to snowball and like in history you can crumble in civil wars and decadence if you do not manage well. You can have massive battle that will decide the fate of your empire and playing them feel epic. For kingdoms they also say they will ad managing the class of your population with nobles, religion...I advise you to watch the strategy gaming dojo playlist on field of glory empires, you will get a good feel for the game and to actually play fiel of glory 2. This games made me regain interest in history.
Sorry for the long comment but since you asked i ad to give you some arguments. It's always a good time when i watch your videos as i can feel your passion for strategy games.
@@corentintiti49 Hey, thanks for the comment, the length is only a positive! Honestly I really wanted to love Field of Glory Empires but for some reason, I feel like the tutorial or SOMETHING kept me from learning it. I just never understood what I was supposed to do, and that comes from the guy who wrote a 2 hour Victoria 3 tutorial haha. Do you have any tips or which videos to watch to get more familiar with it? :)
@@AndysTake
Yes :
czcams.com/video/Eh3o4f1BQIg/video.html
try the "strategy gaming dojo" channel, he as playlist on field of glory empires playing the arverni, even though he makes the mistake of not focusing enough on culture.
I get you, sometimes a game is not for everybody. However if you like history and games like paradox, i feel like you have to give this game a chance. It does some things differently but it's a good simulation with plausible results.
Then if you feel like you can have fun with the game there is the manual which is fairly well explained.
Is there any free ?
Warlord Brittania? Man i want to be the british Caledonian causing any possible and impossible trouble to then ijn "Caledonia" (old scotland) region, and jump over Adrian wall to take big roman settlements.
Millenia! You did forgot about this one and it seems it’s going to be something special. Paradox controlling development of this one.
IS THE CAPS LOCK IN YOUR HOUSE BROKEN, SON?
YES, FATHER
Medieval total war 3 please
Hi, what´s game is the intro, min 0:15?
i think its age of empires Idk tho
its Knights of honor 2
No homeworld 3 ? Where is the hype for it its literally the grandfather of rts games reborn.
First homeworld was first ever full 3D strategy game.
Yeah I don't get why that isn't included.
Where is sins of a solar empire 2?
In our hearts?
@@AndysTake Its in EA on Epic I think
Qiyomat gamer strategy games Pc(Geroy):Dajjal, yajuj majuj, mahdi, iso, dabadul arz
My mos anticipated picks from this: the Great War, western front, Ratten Reich, and Manorlords... Great War the most. God damn that game looks like it will be the biggest time sink for me lol.
manner lord defently the best one in 2023
Super hyped for it!
As a certified Manner Lord player, I can confirm that we are the the best game ever.
Men of war 2 2023 where
Oh no, how could you miss Beyond All Reason!
Oh never heard of it, what is this!
@@AndysTake definitely check it out, it's a Spiritual Successor of Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander with beautiful graphics and best gameplay I've ever witnessed in an RTS (no kidding, after playing it all other games seems bland). It's in a playable state now, to be released on Steam in 2023.
@@PtaQ_Q Feels too much like PA, thank god we still have FAF.
@@AnonYmous-gg9oq lol what
Total war medieval lll
No strategy game will be better then civ for me.
Clearly you've never played Alpha Centauri
@@AnonYmous-gg9oq no i did not. Space theme is not for me , even in table top games , i tend to stay away from the space , genre. but its always a sid meier game , so thumbs up 👍
@@darren560 Missing out 🤷♂
No broken arrow?
Que? Broken Arrow is literally in the video
@@AndysTake Oh my bad I must have missed it lol
Buy a thesaurus.
It seems I need to buy a new gaming laptop..
You and me both brother
No new Total War game in 2023?
Not yet announced anyway, no :(
So rts games aint strategy or this guy just dont like Them? Because where are Tempest Rising and Stormgate ?
Or Ratten Reich is. But I tried many rts over the last 10 years, and I must say Tempest Rising looks as the most promising rts of Them, it looks as the succesor to Command and conquer
Never heard about Tempest Rising or Stormgate, so thanks for bringing those to my attention! :)
Having Broken Arrow in here and not Warno is frankly a joke
Warno is shit lmfao
So minecraft and bannerlord had a child
Yes indeed!
As a certified Bannerlord player, I can confirm that we did indeed have a child with Minecraft.
show gameplay
2022 was pretty disappointing strategy game wise tbh
First
Time to reinstall Warlord Britannia I see.
I bought the game 'Honor of the knights' because of your recommendation, but find it totally a piece of electronic junk. I found that you always have unreasonable positive attitude among games. You really never say a bad word about games, aren't you? Then your good words means nothing if so.
Hmmmm. I’ve said many “bad” things about games. Ever seen my reviews of Age of Empires 4? Total War Three Kingdoms? Tales of Arise? Ratchet and Clank PS5? I’m sad you didn’t like Knights of Honor 2, my friend, but I really love it. Why don’t you like it though? I gave a very throughout review of it, showcasing the entire game basically, so you should’ve gotten a good look at it from there - I even had several negatives to report even though I liked the overall experience.
@@AndysTake I apologize for my rudeness yesterday. I haven't watched many of your previous videos so never know your comments about some of the games you just mentioned.
To be honest with you, your video playing Honor of Knights was kind of fun, but never pointed out the shorting comings of the game, those would be noticed shortly after entering the game. Now the game is criticized not only by me, but many other steam reviewers, because of its low camera, oversimplified deplomatic play, no balance between ways to win, immortal knights, etc.
Anyway, it's not your fault not to mention all the aspects, no one can do that. I really shoud blame myself instead. Sorry, dude, my bad.
I bought the game 'xxxxx' because of your recommendation, .... I would not buy any game purely because someone recommended it. I'll do some research on it, read up , look at steam and watch as many videos as possible , but blaming him because ' you ' didnt do your research? I really shoud blame myself instead. Sorry, dude, my bad.
ok, fair enough .
About Falling Frontier: Personally, I can't bring myself to care anymore for those "space" games that have no idea how real space works. Dear developers: If you are unwilling to portrait space mechanics, then don't. Terra Invicta is a wonderful example how it can be done and be fun to play.
Can someone please agree with me?
Where is HOI4?
1aà
Victoria 3 was lam and boring after a while. It’s missing a lot
BAD !
Strategy needs to be actually a good strategy not only that it "looks" good
Ara looks nice, as Humankind was a shit game
Not even one of these games is worth money
timestamps and titles would be nice. disliked
OMG those games beside Manor Lords looks as made 10 yrs ago ( not writing bout graphics). You must be joking, games for morons/kids.
Wow, most of those games looked terrible.
mediocre at best
damn these games look very ugly..... wtf games only get more bad
such a boring list
