    I had a tibetan spaniel that lived to be 16 1/2 years old. She was the best dog ever! She was sweet and smart and obedient and was fantastic with my kids. Loyal and well mannered and never got into trouble. I think tibetan spaniels are a great family dog and she brought us much joy throughbout her lifetime. We miss her very much and are wanting to get another one of this breed.

    Thanks again for running this video. I've had Tibbies for years now. One thing few realize is that they also make marvelous service animals. My Buddha has been my current service dog for most of his short life (3 years old) before him, I had the privilege of having another one I named Maugui because he reminded me so much of the little critters in the movie Gremlin's. Maugui, was one for record books. He was actually certified in 3 seperate Medical service disciplines. A feet unheard of in service dog communities. Which if you think about, is like holding 3 seperate PHD' s for humans . They can be willful and stubborn at times, but have you ever met a PHD that isn't. All in all, they highly intelligent little dogs and great friends.

    My absolutely favourite dog breed. It has been four years since we lost our Lilly due to a kidney failure (she was almost 15 years old at the time - they live quite long if properly taken care of) and now we plan to adopt three new Tibetan Spaniels.

    I had a Tibetan, I found her infront of my house, I thought she had an owner and just got lost so I fed her a bit and went looking for her owner but couldn't find em. She wouldn't leave my side so I decided to keep her, She was the most laziest dog I've ever seen but I love her to death, she passed away on April, damn I miss her barking in the morning and driving me mad.

    • @maxbobo3904
      @maxbobo3904 Před 3 lety

      @@asanablue9628 i cook for her, just boil copped meat, lamb, beef, her favourite are ribs, no chicken, she is allergic. i also boil some vegetable like carrot and buk choy, all chopped into small pieces. after boiling the meat and vegitable, I would use a net thing to get rid off all the water, then wait for it to cool down, once it become warm not hot, I would mix with royal cain dog food for small dogs, mixed together.
      About five years before she died, I was walking her back to the car, there is a lady in just walk up to me and said she has a same dog, the first thing is the ear problem then come the eye, then the legs, that's exactly happened to my dogs, I only remembered years later. My advice is if you have the same kind of dog , Tibetan spaniel, brush her teeth every day, my dog died because of teeth, and don't put her on a table, she may fall, I went to two emergency clinic for this and she couldn't stop walking back and forth after, for three days, then I went to another doctor, turns out the little shit doctor in vancouver (the asshole have practice in yaletown)give her steroid, that's way she keeps walking. what else, teeth I have to say it again, you have take care of her teeth.

      @@worldhero2934 maybe wait for awhile, 6 month is too young to brush her teeth, I think maybe she is a little older like around 1 year old, you can try use clean finger to gentle brush her teeth to make her get used t o your finger, my little angle bites me every time. They sell one of those finger tooth brushyou can put on your finger. they also sell dental bones, see if she like those.

    I rescued my dog 2 yrs ago from my cuzn who is mentally ill and beat on dogs. So once I got my dog I didn't know much about her except her name. But her breed was so hard to find out. Finally a app shows what breed of dog u have by uploading a pic, which I did. And behold I thought my dog was a papilion mix and my own research was wayyy off. My dog is definitely a Tibetan spaniel. Looks identical and everything u said about my bella is so true. Thanks for this video I definitely needed it

    Was set on a Doberman , but ended up getting my little tibbie 13 years ago. She walks about 6 hours each day, loves to climb.. only eats pure proteins like fish, chicken, beef, egg yolk etc. In other words, more demanding than myself when it comes to food. Veterinarian guessed her being 7 years old, so I hope she will live many more years to come :) Weird little dog.... very selective and super intelligent. Only problem is that girls tend to give her attention, rather than me.. even on dates hehe ... She is very aware that she looks cute, and abuses the fact for all it is worth XD

    • @Rocadog

    • @fistefis

      Me neither , to be honest hehe .... Also it's the most talkative breed of dog I've ever come across. From dove like cooing to trying to resemble guttural sounds of humans. She talks to me for about 30 minutes every morning. Biting the carpet, and swaying her belly in the air. Now we are heading to her favorite restaurant, where she HAS to have ice water in her own bowl. AND it HAS to be more than 5 ice cubes, or she refuses to drink and gets grumpy. Most definitely the best dog ever. Loves all living beings, except kittens. Small kittens scares her XD

    I'm having a hard time on finding the perfect dog breed for me. Is there any dog breed that pops up in your head based on my preferences?
    1) medium or low shedding
    2) medium level energy (1 hour walk and can be extended)
    3) good for novice owners

    • @Rocadog
      @Rocadog  Před 4 lety +3

      Well, the first dog on my mind, based on your preferences, is Poodle. They are non shedding, definitely good for novice, but their energy level can be higher, especially when they are younger. You can find them in three different sizes (toy, miniature, standard), they are intelligent, friendly, trainable. They love affectione and are very eager to please. You can also look for some Poodle crossbreeds, almost all of them are good for novices, but some of them can shed. The most popular are Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. But be careful when choosing a breeder, many of the crossbreeds are bred poorly.
      From the smaller breeds that fit your criteria, i think Yorkie, Shih Tzu or Bichon Frise would be a great fit.
      Greyhounds might be also a good choice, believe it or not, they might be the fastest dogs in the world, but they are actually big couch potatoes. They do shed, but they have short hair, so its nothing terrible.
