The Appenzeller Schilthunde, also known as Plattenhund, is a superb herding dog and it is the original form of the well known Appenzeller Sennenhund. In this video i will tell you all you need to know about the Appenzeller Schilthund

The Appenzeller Schilthund is not officially recognized by any major kennel clubs. We know for sure, that these dogs were actively used for cattle herding in the Swiss Appenzell region since the 19th century.
The predominant color of Appenzeller Schilthund is white and they most often have either black or brown spots. Those dogs with brown spots are called as Havanna Braunen and the featured dog in this video is havanna braunen Schilthund. The coat is quite dense and firm with very dense undercoat.

I believe my rescue dog is part phalene, part dachshund. She definitely has the ears, face, and tail but her body is long and she has floating dew claws. I wish I could share a picture of Daisy Charlotte. I certainly appreciate the information. Thank you.

Me extraña que fueran pastores vascos, estan en peligro de extinción, quedan unos 600 y casi todos en el pais vasco España,me refiero a los comentarios👍 si tienen dos espolones en las patas en vez de uno, es posible que sea pastor vasco, si solo tiene un espolon, no es pastor vasco.,👍👍
