How To Just Keep Going

- Fr. Emmanuel recalls the pilgrimage he took on The Way of St. James (El Camino) in Spain in the summer of 2013. He tells of the time, in the heat of that journey, he wanted to just rest in a ditch on the side of the road. But he knew if he did that he wouldn’t get up. So he told himself, “Just keep walking.” And so he did, one foot in front of the other, and met up with a fellow pilgrim and brother shortly after. Then they arrived at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela together.
The connections between this pilgrimage and the journey of faith are many. For one, it’s important to remember that the best thing to do, when tempted by sin, is to just keep walking. If you do fall, get right back up (go to confession), and just never give up. “We are pilgrims. Little by little, we will arrive.”

As someone who at one time kept falling into sin and lay in that ditch, the way I did it was pray the Rosary EVERY DAY, and our Lady obtain for me the Grace's to break free. Oh and frequent confessions! God bless all who view this and read this. God Bless.

Your video brought me back to a pilgrimage I did in Poland in 1982 or 83. We walked something like 200 km in 9 days heading to the shrine of Chestokova (not sure if this is how to spell it). It was during the communist regime...I was so impressed by what I saw. We were thousands of pilgrims walking. I was with a small group of canadians. It was hard at times, under the heat, in the rain, feet hurting...There were times where I just felt like crying and quitting...But I got to meet some of the most wonderful people, especially from Poland and I can say today that this was one of the strongest experience I lived. God talks to your soul while your walking and like the message says : "Keep walking by putting one foot in front of the other." It's all about perseverence...

Made the pilgrimage during winter. Would have loved to have Fr. Emmanuel walking with us from France to Our Lady of the Ship shrine 3 days west from Santiago. Definitely hard, but after you have those "What am I doing here?" moments, it all falls back into place. Many pilgrims were not religious, but according to their words, it was impossible not to be spiritual walking towards St. James' relics. Doesn't matter where you come from, just walk and the Father will know how to call you. Definitely a journey you might start on your own but will finish with friends you end up calling brothers and sisters.
Just got back from the Portuguese Camino and last year I walked from Sarria on the French! Beun Cammino!!!

Thank you very much for these words of wisdom and comfort, personally I've been struggling with some sins for many many years and sometimes I feel tired and sad that somehow I can't seem to overcome those sins even when i pray daily, read the bible and do the sacraments (even though I do admit that I've seen many "small" changes just like you said, I'm definitely not the same as 2 years ago) the problem with me is that I've been in this path alone for all those years (got no friends, no girlfriend and not even my family goes to church) and tis is why walking this path has become very very hard for me. :/
Please pray for me so that I can find that passion, motivation and courage to keep moving forward with a pure, calm and prudent heart.

@@ralph7545 Fr Mike Schmitz had some great videos were it also ahelped me cope last February, i myself had suffered a bout of anxiety and panic attacks where i am restless even at sleep. It was not a happy place to be, i cry to God and never ceases to pray the rosary whenever anxiety tortures me to sleep, and by the grace if God, it work. Hope you'll be okay. Im trying my best to uplift anyone be it my words or by deeds. May i know if this has anything to do with ❤ problems?i may suggest or give u a copy of it to make u laugh😊let me know.

I was looking back when we had the Prayer festivals In Pantasaph in North Wales UK and each year a couple of the Friars of the renewal would come to join us , I covered the Photography for the event and after visting this channel went back to my archives and found pics of Brother Emmanuel evangelising on an outreach in 2006 !! , we got to know him quite well, if he and the Friars of the renewal would like these photos please let me know . Thanks for the video! How about this: in my language, Lithuanian language, which is in a top ten oldest indeoeuropean languages in the world. The word FAITH is TIKĖJIMAS. And if you split this word in two you will literally get TIK (meaning JUST) ĖJIMAS (meaning walking). So in our language Faith is just-walking or simply-walking. Cheers.

So, I’m ten years old, and I’m going to fifth grade next year, and I have two really good friends and this one kid that has known me since kindergarten at this public school and a lot of good friends at this catholic school. Both of the schools would be about the same price because my mom works there. Anybody have any suggestions?
Henry Centlivre well it depends, do you just want an education or do you want both education and Religion. I went to catholic school from 1-8th grade and I am so glad I did. I went to public for high school and it can never compare. However my daughter went to public high school and it was a great a School. Pray on it and the answer will come to you.

ASHLEY SHARON you will feel it in your heart what happens when you don’t lead a prayerful life. When I don’t pray, I find myself feeling lost, easily confused and manipulated by the enemy, and I let the things in life tear me down easily. But when I pray to God every day, I feel stronger to face and overcome everything that comes my way. I don’t let the enemy try and make me believe that I am unworthy. Because when I pray to God, I get to know Him more and more each day. And I know that all those negative thoughts I have about myself, all those times where the enemy tries to tempt me. I know God isn’t the voice of those negative thoughts. He would never think of me like that. And God would never tempt me, instead He will strengthen me. When I pray, I find it easier to believe He loves me. So pray every day, lead a prayerful life! It doesn’t matter how long you pray for. Even if it’s for five minutes, God listens because He loves you. The more you pray, the more you’ll want to pray every second of the day. God bless you!
