      @@talesferreiralimadossantos8806 i agree, as like in our own timeline there would be little to gain and it would certainly upset China. The main reason i think the Russians are stronger in this timeline is because of their internal situation and their huge eurasian alliance with Italy and China. Of course one could argue that they are weaker because of the giant european alliance which exists specifically to counter russian influence and expansion. However, i still stand with my earlier statement that they are overall stronger than the soviet union of our time.

As for the foreign policy, it's possible the Tsar could try to be in good terms with France, Germany and even Poland. Ukraine, on the other hand, would be harder, since the best lands for agriculture is there and the country controls Crimea (maybe it's not sooo important since they have Turkey on their side). Italy could very well make trouble with Serbia and Croatia and take the rest of Greece and I think this would be a point of atrition between Russia and Italy. What do you think?

    I find this scenario fascinating in a lot of ways, but In terms of where you left it, I'd like to zoom in on Romania.
    I'd imagine in your Balkan war scenario, their military performs fairly well to successfully cross the Danube and secure Dobruja, without even collapsing to Hungarian pressure and holding the mountain line. Losing Dobruja when they had won World War 1 would have already been an outrage, but losing what they'd gained in Transylvania too would I imagine, be a very large bruise. Economically and Geographically Romania may have been forced to align with the "Axis", but even more so than OTL, they despise nearly every one of their supposed "allies" for various reasons.
    With all this in mind, and given the prevalence of Nationalist movements in Romania otl even without this complete land loss humiliation, would be very strengthened in this scenario. Irridentist and Nationalist fervor would likely be sky high in parts of the population and it's not unlikely a weak King Michael II, without a Greater Romania economic boon, ends up being subverted by a rising Nationalist movement, whether Iron Guard or otherwise, who win elections and strongarm their way into control of the Romanian government.
    Ideologically, this kind of government would appear to be a perfect fit for this scenario's axis, but all of Romania's geostrategic goals align against the Axis. They have almost nothing to gain by fighting for Russia and Italy, and everything to gain by fighting against them. Just like how Communist Romania was in the Warsaw pact in otl, I'd imagine this Romania is a Maverick in the alliance, refusing to allow others to have bases, station officers, move supplies, or in any way assert control over or with the Romanian military, which themselves is rapidly expanding from purchases of French and Italian equipment, two nations they share immense cultural ties with and which exported a lot of arms in this time. Like Communist Romania, this Nationalist Romania would also necessarily have to vastly expand domestic industries, propping them up with whatever duct tape and glue could be found, closely aligning with the Serbs/Yugoslavs on these weapon developments. This could lead to a very surprisingly strong Romanian military, They'd have access to almost all of the experienced officers from WW1, the new officer corps they trained, and the excellent defensive and artillery training and tactics learned from there, as well as whatever solid offensive tactics let them seize Dobruja against the odds.
    With such close cultural ties to France and economic interests north in Galicia, it's also possible Romania establishes a secret alliance, much like they did with Germany and Italy before WW1 in the "Triple Alliance" to protect against any aggression in the meantime. This could include plans in case of war to Neutralize or force Hungary's hand, by Romania continuing it's Maverick streak and refusing to join a Russian Italian war against the Intermarium/Franco-German Alliance, and thusly cutting Hungary off from any ground support, leaving it vulnerable to collapse with a German and Polish border. If the Russian/Italian Axis try to press Romania with their superior military force across the Danube (a tough task with only 2 or 3 bridges on the whole length), Romania could then also activate her secret alliance with the Intermarium and seal Hungary's fate in the meantime, allowing, even if they fell, a very fervrent Nationalist Romanian free government and forces to retreat backwards and link up with Intermarium forces to continue the fight.
    TLDR: Romania got hella humiliated in this scenario, and there's not a shot in hell they don't try to go against the Russian/Italian Axis with their geostrategic position and very likely Nationalist sentiment

    Also, as a side note, it seems a tad bit strange that the Polish government -- which at its time was rather hard-line nationalist -- would simply hand over territory it viewed as part of Poland proper (i.e. Lwów and Wilno) especially considering those areas were more heavily Polonized. Even if they were pursuing the Prometheist doctrine of the late Piłsudski, it would be highly unlikely that the Sanation government would simply turn over the entirety of Eastern Galicia and Wilno. Just some food for thought in future mapping!

      @ee822 Před 4 měsíci +6

      Perhaps the Versailles treaty having combined Poland and Lithuania, with Lithuania being given major influence from being the primary sea access of the nation, is the source of what caused Poland to diverge? The Intermarium's state at the end of the video is an economic union, but the plan could be to combine into a new, fully realized Commonwealth. France may even be encouraging that so the alliance between all of them has three semi-equal partners to it that'll make the arrangement more stable.

    I have my doubts Mussolini still comes to power without being able to rail on Italy getting ripped off in the peace deal. Further I don't see Europeans letting Turkey have Constantinople back. Also seems kind of weird that the US Navy wouldn't intervene, or pressure Japan into accepting the peace deal, if Japan was losing so badly they'd lose their ability to repay debts to the US, especially with a Russia that looks like its on a conquering spree.
    Further I'm not sure we'd have a full on Great Depression in this world, rather than just a recession.

    Suggestion of a what if:
    What if Napoleon escaped to Brazil?
    In 1817, 2 years had passed since Napoleon lost in waterloo and some revolutionaries from Pernambuco (state of Brazil in the Northeast) had an impossible plan to liberate napoleon from his exile in St helens. Since Napoleon was a admired not only by the French but by Revolutionaries and independent movements from south america that even the peruvians and chileans had discussed this before. The plan was that a Revolutionary known as "Cabugá" would go to the USA and buy some weapons to fight off the rule of Dom João VI of Portugal and would later recruit 4 french veterans. But when they arrived at the city of Recife (Recife is a city in Pernambuco that is a state of Brazil in the Northeast) The portuguese arrested the 4 french veterans and the plan would have never been continued.
    But, what if it went different? What if Cabugá managed to recruit more french veterans? What if they did managed to rescue Napoleon?
