Home girl been tossing stuff and flipping here, and leaping there, and crawling she done accidentally unraveled her ponytail in like four segments of the special 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But she was a true genius at heart, mind, BODY, and SOUL! Fly high Queen! Merci Mademoiselle Eartha Kitt🕊🕊🕊🕊
😭😭 I seriously love learning about her so much, but this is a lil cheesey 💀 Edit: I revoke my statement, only the intro was cheddar! Everything else was superb.
Eartha was beyond category.”come on to House” was brilliant along with all her other foreign language songs. This was a brilliant self made entertainer.
I wish there was a song list for this video! Soo, here's what I found: Sell Me! (Eartha Kitt) Mad About the Boy (Eartha Kitt) My Heart Belongs to Daddy (Eartha Kitt) "Mas que nada" & "O Pato" (Sergio Mendez and Brasil '66 ) No clue about the third one, although it sounds familiar Just an Old-Fashioned Girl (Eartha Kitt) My favorite of this list C'mon A My House! (Eartha Kitt) Uska Dara? (Eartha Kitt) I Want to be Evil (Eartha Kitt) Santa Baby (You Know Who ;)) C'est si bon (Eartha Kitt) One-note Samba (Sergio Mendez Brasil '66 AND Eartha Kitt) my second favorite :) Day Tripper (Sergio Mendez Brasil '66 AND Eartha Kitt) When the World was Young (Eartha Kitt) ♡
She should have had a variety show like Judy Garland. There should have been at least one movie made about her life. This was some cool shit back then...and still is if you are old enough to know what is truly cool.
A true testament to the power grace and fire that was Eartha kitt a Diva in all her glory blazing and heartfelt a moment now crystallized in our hearts forevermore
P.S. She had the BODY of a GOD at 40 YEARS OLD! Not excluding GOD by any means, but HE did a phenomenal job making this loving, caring, and kind cat in human form. One fine lady in her years on this earth 🥰🥰🥰🥰
SHE'S ONE OF THE FOUNDATIONS OF BLACK FEMALE MUSIC! : MAMIE SMITH, MA RAINEY, JOSEPHINE BAKER, BESSIE SMITH, ALBERTA HUNTER, MARIAN ANDERSON, SIPPIE WALLACE, VICTORIA SPIVEY, ETHEL WATERS, PEARL BAILEY, LENA HORNE, EARTHA KITT, BILLIE HOLIDAY, KOKO TAYLOR, BIG MAMA THORNTON, SIS ROSETTA THRAPE, LUCILLE BOGAN, DINAH WASHINGTON, SARAH VAUGHAN, MAHALIA JACKSON, CLARA WARD, MARIE KNIGHT, DOROTHY LOVE COATES, BESSIE GRIFFIN, DELLA REESE, ELLA FITZGERALD, ETTA JAMES & ARETHA FRANKLIN....

Can you imagine one of today`s "artists" just singing live in studio and without giant screens? The stage and a little scenography is enough when you have TALENT.
There are two singers that are so strange to me. I don't think that they can sing, but you are so mesmerized by their performances. It's always been Marlene Dietrich and Eartha Kitt. I was lucky to see Eartha Kitt in concert and she was so much fun.
Considering her large range, her powerfull voice (even when dancing), her ability to sing in foreign languages and her carreer as a singer that spread over a half century, it's strange to hear that she's not a singer! Then who's a singer to you?
@@MegaUsed in the instance of high art, theatre, comedy and my culture sorry but yes its very important to express quality over imitation. Eartha kitt was probably one of the ten greatest female performers of the last century. where as fey and Poehler and every mediocrity that helped decimate western theatre and arts completely (and was rammed down our threat by force for the last two decades - resulting in the total destruction of western music and comedy - for political purpose) are not just benign failures. they are malignant in their association to kitt through the sheer classification of their profession. and its important to make a distinction between them. thanks for stating the obvious but I realise that one can give a compliment without giving an insult and one can give an insult without giving a compliment. to me this is a war on culture. so its absolutely imperative that I point out the difference between a woman (African American too!) who gave us decades and decades of a totally unique characterisation in which she put herself out there to get attacked and slandered as a 'crazy'.... and did not take anything away from anyone. but rather gave to so many of us in music, dance, comedy and acting and made men realise women could be as funny as men whilst being sexy - and BLACK. (orson Welles called her 'the most exciting woman in the world') and two people who got there on ingratiation, nepotism and slandering victims of genocide... as Tina fey did when she played a concentration camp guard in a Russian gulag where millions perished, singing a song about how the inmate were all violent, bad, deranged criminals. (can you imagine doing that about auschwitz!?) we now know that millions and millions of ppl who died in these gulags (which fey seems to think are a holiday - and that her doing so is all so funny) - were political prisoners and dissidents. they were totured, raped and worked to death as 'enemies of the state'. she is not funny because she has no moral backbone. unlike kitt who is a queen. she supported the US neo con war hawks invading 4 innocent countries and murdering millions of muslims and she then had the audacity to call herself left wing at home and witch hunt conservatives, libertarians and dissidents for being 'non politically correct'. truly becoming her gulag guard character in person. watching her and Poehler try and be funny at the oscars was like hearing nails down a blackboard or a paedo uncle at a wedding get up and talk about love. it just makes one want to throw a chair or something. I would die before I let people forget the worlds of difference between orson Welles and earth kitt and the likes of puppets for the establishment like fey and Poehler. yours truly signing off

wow - its telling that she lets other women shine on her show too - like sexy redhead Casanova girl

I think Sérgio Mendes was dazzled by her enormous brilliance. I would dance prettier with Diva "Eartha Kitt"
