Old Head Golf Links - Ireland - The Boss Golfs Review

Old Head Golf Links might be the favorite course from my last Ireland trip. While not the truest definition of Irish Links, Old Head is visually mind-blowing, a lot of fun to play, and an all-around great experience. One course comparison, that is most fitting, is "Pebble Beach on steroids." Old Head feels like playing golf on the edge of the earth. Most of the course is set along the edges of a narrow headland jutting two miles out into the Atlantic Ocean atop 300-foot cliffs. Old Head does not play like traditional Irish links with massive dunes throughout the terrain. Instead, Old Head is more open and exposed, offering gorgeous views from every location on the course. The course struck an outstanding balance between spectacular clifftop holes and engaging inland holes. Old Head is different from most Ireland courses and feels more focused on tourists even though it has a small membership. The Staff helps create an atmosphere typically associated with great American resort courses.
