Well this was all Greg's idea, and at first we were just going to make it ghost pepper flavored. Until Greg suggested we add orange to it as well (he has a lot of good ideas). It was very hot if you couldn't tell from the video! About half the people had to spit it out after a while because it was too hot for them! So if you want to join the Hercules Candy Ghost Pepper Challenge record yourself trying the candy and share it on facebook, instagram or tiktok with the #herculescandygpc in the description! đ About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steveâs side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70âs, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesnât love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. As someone who grew ghost peppers in my garden last year... That was a lot of powder to add... Like a tablespoon for the whole batch still would have made it very spicy.

I have a high heat tolerance and have eaten ghost chilis before, but I am not sure I would try these

The almond milk would technically not really work to help to alleviate the discomfort caused by the capsaicin as it does not contain casein. Casein, a protein contained in dairy products works like a detergent to pull the tiny capsaicin molecules from the pain receptors and wash them away. Now I need to go order some of this candy.

The best remedy to spicy is a milkshake or ice cream. Both are dairy products that contain casein and theyâre already cold.
Any dairy product would cut it, as long as milk was used. And which idiot decided to use the whole bottle? 1 tablespoon should have been more than enough.

Ironically, sugar can be an antidote for the burn. When I tried the Paqui One Chip Challenge this year (just don't) the only thing that killed the pain was eating a super, super ripe pear. Still had massive tummy issues, but the major pain was gone. I basically nursed a bottle of Pepto all day! Also, I do believe *ahem* Carolina Reaper peppers are even HOTTER than ghost peppers. So there.

Personally, tasting chilli chocolate and some hot candy, I would probably pass on this as I can't take heat. But I can imagine having fun with family with these.

I paused it at 7:35. Yeah depending on how aggressive you spread and mix in the powder you could be fine but could essentially pepperspray yourself. I think some will get airborne and cause some coughing.

Oh man, citrus makes the capsaicin even hotter. It enhances the burn. Should have definitely gone with mango. And the whole bottle?? No way!! Could have used a 1/3 or less!! Sorry guys. And fyi almond milk is not going to do anything to help. Next time use straight sugar water (lots of sugar)!!

We do habanero's on the regular back home. So the GP would be a general heat while tasting.
But definitely not taste testing on an empty stomach, coz that would be bad.
Im sure someone mentioned this already but what about making a challenge box.? Make every hot candy and display box Like the hot sauce challenge box but with candy. 1 piece in a box that explains what it is and the Scoville unit. Bags and labels would work to. Fortune cookie paper thing with candy detail in individualy wrapped piece in a big bag would work too. Just a few thoughts. Have a good one.

There's a product called Pure Cap (IDK how to spell it) it comes in a two ounce bottle with an eye dropper. I say mix 1/2 a dropper full with peppermint and call it "Double Trouble"
