- I made an overpowered samurai dexterity build using some of the most powerful weapons and skill in the game. Since filming this, Patch 1.07 has buffed Rivers of Blood's weapons skill Corpse Piler to deal even more damage. So your playthroughs with this build will be even easier than mine!

Gotta say, the build is lookin sick, but my Elden Ring hasnt been working for like the last 4 months. I've had this problem with crashing where attempting to change the resolution would cause me to freeze. I looked on reddit and nvidia control panel isnt a viable solution. Any help from people here is appreciated! :)

Turn off anti aliasing
What elijah said, verify the game files or reinstall will probably do the trick. If you don’t know how to verify the files there is bound to be a tutorial on youtube :) first time i did it my friend taught me and it was super simple

Use add/remove progs to remove any geforce experience software then use device manager to remove the GPU drivers, then reinstall the latest ones. Verify game install and use steam to move install location to another drive. Make sure windows is up to date. Start the game without the easy cheat software - offline mode and try and change it then...just some suggestions to try if you haven't already... Edit: make sure nothing like MSI afterburner is running or rtss (comes with afterburner) turn off steam overlay... Edit X2: if your CPU has a GPU onboard use device manager to disable the main gpu so the game runs on the slower GPU, the game will be slow but it could eliminate if your main gpu is causing the problem if you can change the resolution on the onboard one.
Also another fun idea I’ve loved in my dex build. You could go for a dex faith paladin type build, and create Isshin Ashina. Putting flame art infusions on the uchi and dabbling in some of the flame incants to mimic him in the shura ending fight.
Oh I’m definitely doing an Isshin build at some point. I hope some better samurai hairstyles get added in the DLC! Thanks for watching!
I started a slight alteration of this build just today. Got the Wakizashi from Gaol Tunnel to powerstance with the Uchi, put the Parry AoW on it, and added Flame Grant Me Strength, as the build does physical and fire damage with Bloodflame Blade. Also put the Double Slash AoW on the Uchi to really rack up the bleed buildup. Been pretty fun, beat two demigods within three hours of starting and am on the way to Altus
The double slash move is basically the same as corpse piler. Add blood flame and viola.
since corpse piler got nerfed, I think a really good idea would've been to use bloodflame blade + Uchi with double slash. It uses the same animations as corpse piler, but wasn't touched in the last patch. Don't mean to sound condescending, I really enjoyed your last 4 build videos, and you also taught me about Ordina skip! You've got a sub outta me.
Yeah, double slash and Bloodflame works a treat. Didn’t do it as I knew I’d be using corpse Piler for the late game and Unsheathe is really good for staggers. Corpse Piler being buffed in 1.07 was a nice suprise! Thanks for watching.
Liked already for the deadpan humor and presentational style and quality . Subscribed for the well-thought out and efficient guide *and* mechanically optimized build. And it's nice this far into a game's lifespan to see endgame builds that aren't at RL200+
If you want to do PVE then feel free to level up past 125 if you do PVP I guess don't I just play PVE
Thank you for this build guide. I was actually planning on making a Samurai build but was looking for ideas on the matter. Only difference is I'm planning on using the cross-naginata (not duel wielding) as the main weapon for this setup.

I’m currently working on parrying the Godskin Noble in my journey to creating a Shura character
funny bc i pretend my samurai is from sekiro aswell but mine is a rookie that becomes a samurai god😁,basically his whole squad died and now he has to learn to fight like a real samurai
But i gave up on parrying i just carry my uchi and nagakiba so far. I might rebirth again, bc i think i overdid the lvls for endurance. I would always lvl out vigor and endurance but I need extra lvls for arcane and dex

I have only played elden ring one time and I’m planning on doing this for my build I just wish it was a little slower paced and explained a little bit better about the areas but great build

If you stick to just 1 katana this is also a great STR build. Fire unsheath with flame grant me str. And since str naturually buffs itself when 2handing the dmg ramps quicker while getting some spare levels

This is awesome lol Shura is also the name of a comic I used to draw as a kid, made a game based on it with some friends in high school. Going to be redoing both, after the first project I am working on ^_^
Cool. I want to do a dex build but was worried about the damage potential of katana's vs twinblades (still on 1.06). Good to see I can use either, or eventually, both.

The hero's grave mentioned in the guide is the Auriza Hero's Grave, NOT the Saintly Hero's Grave. You can get to it by following the path like you're trying to enter the Captial from the north, and turning to where the archer golems are. There's a spirit spring you can use to safely jump down, then follow the ledge to the south east and it should merge with the lower path and take you right to the statue that is just outside of the dungeon. The smithing stones in the statue are, for some reason or other, NOT marked on Fextralife's map.

What a masterpiece of a guide. For Mogh you can run the successful attacks tear with dual wield kats (RoB weapon art spam works with it too)
another good choice for a weapon if you dont care about the samurai fashion is the guardian swordspear. Its got crazy AR on keen
In the place where you can get wakizahi dagger which has unique dual wielding moveset when paired with katana, you can also find naginata weapon, it's basically glaive but if you want to roleplay as samurai I find it pretty cool, I did it on my 1st attempt

Yeah I love the wakizashi moveset. Think it could do with a bit of a buff though, as it’s just a no brainer to use a second katana, DPS wise. Great for the style points though! Thanks for watching!

This may be absolutely stupid to say: but I’d love to see a Strength Intelligence build. Something about looping magic and bonking morons with whatever big stick you can get your hands on just sounds fun.

My first time playing elden ring I decided to look on youtube to find a build to center mine around. After I found your channel I immediately swarmed towards the nearest build that used a katana, and followed this one step-by step. I'm writing this just now, after beating melania. I've never been so nervous or excited during a fight, and this build really brought out what I believe was the best gaming experience of my life. ..Besides Battlezone Combat Commander in 2018, of course.

I'm doing this build, but have decided to go with the Great Épée instead. I'm using a combination of Piercing Fang for high damage and repeating thrust with bloodflame blade if I feel safe enough to use it. I'll throw on the prosthesis and the winged sword talisman for the repeating thrust and combine it with the spear talisman. I'm unsure if the spear talisman works with the AoW but it's been a blast.
For anyone following this guide currently one thing I would add is you can use sleep pots on the first Godskin fight as well if you are having a hard time.

Huh, I wasn’t aware Unsheathe was so good! I figured if I ever did a katana build, I’d go for the Wakizashi dagger with a parry AoW. I might have to reconsider.
Oh no Unsheathe is REALLY good! Big stagger damage for the speed of it. Bloody slash is another good contender if you were going for bleed. It got buffed yesterday and was still pretty good before! Thanks for watching!
Oh yeah, I think I mentioned in the comments of a previous video, that Fingerprint + Scholar’s Shield, and either a bleed Lance or a cold cross-Naginata, completely breaks the game. There was no strategy, you just win, except maybe the oversized bosses like Beast.
Well, 1.07 might have killed that. It’s now impossible to get 100 Guard Boost. With my own limited testing, it’s seems Scholar’s Shield gets diminishing returns the higher the shield’s boost, and there might be a hard cap on Guard Boost somewhere in the 90s. Still great, but you probably can’t tank Waterfowl anymore.

I would update your materials run to add the spirit spring in Caelid near Fort Faroth. There is a formation you jump onto that has 7 and 8 :D

After you pick up the smithing stone 6 at volcano manor after you say (Past the invader, pick up the smithing stone 6, then down into the darkness) Where is this darkness you are talking about? all the doors here are closed and the one i think you refer to says doesnt open from this side? Have i missed something?

great video. question, why not use dual uchi up until you get rivers of blood?
In short, upgrading a second uchi. Getting all the stones to do it would probably add 10 very boring mins onto the video, and buying them would set you back enough levels to be counter productive. Thanks for watching!
For the Niall fight, I always recommend getting some bewitching branches. It’s safer and it can even get some free hits on Niall.
(Edit) to clarify I mean to use them on the knights so they kill each other, not Niall.
I did a whole twitch stream of testing bewitching branches against Niall to try and find a consistent method, to no avail. Sometimes they’d do nothing, other times they do 60% of his health. It is a good recommend though, just very RNG. Thanks for watching!
@@ThingfishyGaming That’s weird. They always consistently work for me on 22 playthroughs. To be fair though, I only think they should be used for the banished knights. They always consistently kill each other. Niall is not the target, but sometimes they do hit him.
As a ultra great sword bonk boi this is a pretty cool build, you could try switching out the uchi for the meteorite blade since it's R2 does good stagger damage

A quick tip you may be aware of:
You can actually complete the needed 12 stones (5) for +15 and level up the weapon to +16 before facing Margit by looting Sealed tunnel and Sellia crystal.
One more stone you can find it just after entering the sealed tunnel and jumping down the cliff?? before collecting the bell bearing, and one more stone in the Sellia hidden behind the wooden shack in your right after collecting the first two.
Try this build, beast champion armor set(altered chest piece), bloodhound sword, carian knight shield, Demi human queen staff, any type of sorcery ,
I’m really enjoying this build. One question… since you’re investing in arcane, would it be better to use the Dragon Communion Seal instead of the Finger Seal?
i think you still get higher buffs with finger seal compared to dragon communion, kinda funny but yeah. i could be wrong though so anyone correct me.

This was actually my first thought, but after having just done the arcane build with dual wield jump attacks, I didn’t want to make the exact same video again with different weapons. Will definitely do this in the future though. Thanks for watching, George!
After finish my playthrough I may tried this guide. I hate bleed because it sucks against boss that immune to bleed while doing little damage against them with normal attacks, but this guide changed my mind.
Yeah, don’t think of this as a bleed build. It has bleed as little bonus (1 proc per fight mostly). But the vast majority of the damage comes from physical and fire. My last guide was a “true” bleed build, which is why it sucked for Radabeast. Let me know how you get on with it.

I disagree that there's a larger benefit in having the warrior jar shard for most bosses than the shard of Alexander for the last few bosses. Because most bosses are easy except Malenia. I always wait for shard of Alexander and I don't use rune arcs at all until its time to fight her. Knowing she's there at the end colors my whole playthrough.
Would the nagakiba work just as well as the uchi?
If you have to off Alexander, I appreciate that you didn't make the rest of us watch.

I just finished up NG+ with the Blasphemous Blade which was a blast. Used the Black Blade as well which was so satisfying when it worked. Looking forward to different builds.

I wish you would do a full play by play and walk through, it’s extremely difficult doing what you are doing if we dont know the game

this shouldn’t be a tutorial on how to play the game, just a fun build to make once you’ve actually played it, you should just explore and do things your way and then after you’ve done it like that you should make fun builds if you want

Yeah a quality build in Elden Ring is an interesting thought as it’s probably the first souls game where a particular weapon doesn’t jump instantly to mind. Many of the better weapons fall into str/fth, dex/int and str/int. I’ll have a think about that. Thanks for watching!
@@ThingfishyGaming when a friend started elden ring I recommended him bloodhound's fang and he did a quality build duel wielding it with Dismounter early until he got the Zamor Curved Sword, he said that he beat fire giant first try and Malenia second try, it's unbelievable as it took me many tries to beat both

@@ThingfishyGaming Do a vampire build with talismans that steal health and summons. Rosus’ axe summons spirits and rat ashes are fun, and poison/rot can also be thematic for vampires.

I love your builds I was just wondering if you did or are you going to do a pure faith build and 2 a pure archer build?
He has 4 pure faiths and bow only is usually regarded as making the game harder

Still works on 1.07. If you’re anything like me, it’s probably the second input being off, make sure you go to 7 o clock for the second jump. Feels completely unnatural, but that’s the bit I messed up when I was learning it. Let me know how you get on. Thanks for watching!

Divine Dragon (the old god the dragons were waiting for) left Placidusax and ended up in Ashina after the Greater Will chased him off. Once you leave Ashina with the Divine Children you journey West to the lands between to return the Dragon Heritage and destroy the Golden Order. I think that fits pretty well hahahaha
