Instructions good until the end, here’s clarification: after triggering the hollows, go back and rescue stranded Yiga Blademaster, then defeat all hollows and make sure no Yiga Blademaster dies, after defeating the hollows go to the red circles on the map until you find Thunderblight Gannon and Windblight Gannon, defeat them first, then head to the yellow dot and defeat Fire Blight and Water Blight gannons to unlock Sooga. Don’t kill Fire/Waterblight until AFTER finding and killing Thunder/Windblight.

I did the exact same but i still didn’t unlock him
Run back to the gate as soon as you get on land and the hallows appear. Save the yiga member that stayed back. Fight off all the monsters and Wizards, don't lose a member of your clan. Rush back and beat the hallows monsters and Wizards that appear. Now, I didn't have to fight those flight Ganons, but it might be because I did that task before trying to unlock sooga. But I think all of the memory tasks have to be complete. Otherwise, all you need to do is beat the generals, Wizards, and hallows and make sure you beat the mission without losing any members.

I just did the fire blight and water blight Ganon and it unlocked him. But thank you for the other tip of saving the blade master. I didn’t know that part.

2 years later and i just found out about him and can finally 100% the game, i kept thinking i had to defeat one of the hallows aswell but that just insta killed him

You can use anyone after completing it once.
I sort of thought that the secret unlockable character would be a human ganondorf
that's a very entertaining thought. I hope they do come up with something awesome like that in the not so distant future

You only need to kill fire blight and water blight to unlock him
I think you need all three tasks unlocked so you'll have to kill them all if you haven't already.
Hey so ive been trying to do this mission but for some reason i can only play as master kohga, how can i play as link??
I was Master Kohga the first time I did this. Once you finish it and re-run it, you'll be able to use Link

this is very easy with the master cycle, i just chainsawed through the enemies' health bars

Imma be honest, I just booted up the game, I have the whole expansion pass bought and when I loaded my save, the game didn't highlight any new quests and it's 11pm over here, so I can't be bothered to check for myself. What I'm trying to say is that I don't know how to access the DLC, it just showed you the lab for the first one and it showed me nothing for this. The game also says I'm on the latest update. I'll try again to find the new stuff tommorow when I'm not mad tired, I just hope it's not a software issue.
Update: Apparently, it didn't Download the second DLC when I transferred my data to my new switch, so I had to Download it again without anything or anyone telling me. I hope it'll work now
You should get new EX Missions. I had the same experience as you, expecting that there would be something like the ancient lab.
Are the missions already there and you have to actively look for them or do they pop up? 'Cause nothing popped up for me

I don't have any new missions, I just checked. It also says DLC 1 is "now playable" while DLC 2 is "now available", so it probably comes out later in Europe than in the states for no reason which is just lovely

It starts out that way. Once you do the steps here, you'll unlock it and get sooga at the same time

You have to complete the level first then you can go back and play again with different characters
