Found your channel by accident, I like it nice car you have a lot of mods I dream of , im working on my 69 chevelle for the first time in 20 years. I’ve been slowly working on it since my day left 3 years ago and I’d like to make some videos. Your content is inspiring thanks
Love the car and tou do great work. You should build the motor yourself. You do everything else. Great channel cant wait to see more.
Agree! And that would add more content!
I can't do the machine work. Even if I were to assemble an engine, the block needs to be bored, honed, and decked.
@@SS454LS6 that's normal, I'd like to see you assemble it if that's something you are comfortable with
Came across your channel and love it ...
Watched the videos and i might have looked over one of the vids...
Did u ever find out what was causing your vibration?
If so what video is it ?
Not 100%. I have had 3 bent axles, which certainly has played a part in the vibrations. For some reason my drag race wheels vibrate more than the other wheels. But even with new axles, new freshly balanced wheels/tires, perfect driveline angles, new clutch, etc. I still get a vibration.
What is the reflective material you speak of above your headers?
I think it is a DEI product. This stuff has a fiberglass fabric in it to help insulate the heat.
What was ever the issue with the vibration?
I have a 70 Chevelle nomad, 565 BDS 8-71, 930 hp, 870 lb ft. Car shakes the dash and the seat. Driveshaft seems fine, Dennys shaft, wheels wobble in drive on jackstands… Done balanced the wheels again, going to have driveshaft checked make sure it’s fine, maybe bent axles..? I have no clue and super frustrated… any help would be great! Thanks
I would recommend you check my other vibration videos, you can see how bent the axles I've had. Unfortunately that hasn't been my primary issue. Driveline angles is often a big cause and I've checked mine many times and have them about as good as possible. I've had bent axles, and changed those. I have 3 sets of wheels and they all have a vibration. I've changed my clutch. The only thing I havent changed is my driveshaft, which is a top quality Denny's that is balanced to 10,000 rpm. But who knows. I do know my Weld wheels and drag radials amplify the vibration, so there is something going on there. Despite all this, mine was never so bad to rattle the dash. You must have something very much out of balance. Check anything that rotates. Checking run out everywhere hopefully narrows down your issue.
What headers did you use? Do you have anything you dislike about them?
They are Hooker 2455's. They hang a bit low to the ground which I don't like. No issues with spark plug access, which I do like. They fit my car with no dimples or dents required. I wish they had thicker flanges though.
@@SS454LS6 thank you for the input
Did you fix the vibration problem?
Not completely. Still something that I can feel.
@@SS454LS6 thanks for replying 🙏
Hope you get it fix.
Build a 496 stroker
4" stroke for me. I prefer the lower piston speeds and better oil control since I race on the road course from time to time.
@@SS454LS6 oh ok! I guess a 468 then😆
When did you buy your Chevelle? I imagine it was MANY years ago, before collectors and greedy car flippers drove the prices on ALL old cars UP.
2009 I think is when I got it.
