Hi, it was great that you invited musician friends to react to Dimash. Upcoming songs, "Adaggio", "Autumn Strong", "Daybreak" "Unforgettable day", "Daididau", "know", "Show most go on" (Dimash version), "Diva Dance" version Bastau 2017 (5th Element , adds a great final note that the Alien did not make), I would have about 80 more songs to write, not counting the last great songs that he has released these days. My contribution to Sinful Pasion is to explain the history of this song.
The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash reinvigorated the song. In addition, he added the final part, with a traditional oriental technique to honor his dead (when he speeds up his vibrato). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the name of the band is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The late singer (of whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik along with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboard player we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

This is one of my favorite Dimash songs. That 24+ seconds run at the end establishes him as an alien who does not need to breathe oxygen! Of course, you have to invite your vocal coaches back for Dimash's cover of a small portion of the Diva Dance (from the 5th Element) + another song as the Diva Dance is less than 2 minutes long! They were all about vocal appreciation and did not go into these intricate technical aspects of what Dimash is doing with his voice. Most importantly, you all picked up on Dimash's humility, something that inspires the loyalty of his fans as much as his voice. I call him the Anti-Diva. He's a breath of fresh air in an industry rife with bloated egos.

Love to see more fellow South Africans getting the wonderful Dimash... there's been a lot of discussion around the "yodel"-style passage. Some say its in memory of the previous lead singer of this band A-Studio, who died some years ago, its clearly a technique or combination of techniques from the Turkic /Mongolian/Arabic styles of music. Dimash is a total music geek, has studied it all and loves to bring it in to his music.. "Hello" cover shows this, and it takes the whole performance through the roof! Also his performance of Samaltau at Tokyo Jazz Festival shows authentic Kazakh music with kobyz and sbygzy, Kazakh instruments. Basically Dimash is bringing advanced musical knowlege and techniques into popular culture, I have learned an enormous amount about the art of singing and a lot about music from him, altho I did courses in History and Appreciation of Music at Wits during Medieval times. Dimash is really a phenomenon, the gift that keeps on giving. May I suggest you guys set up a regular reaction to his music, say weekly, you've got more than 2 years worth of performances if you do that. And you will get lots of subs because of your genuine flabbergastination! I suggest you start with I Am Singer 2017, first episode SOS, next Opera2, Show Must Go On, Adagio....by then you'll have plenty of guidance. Maybe invite more SA musos, to join you... Great reactions by all. Greetings from Muizenberg!

Hi guys!! I loved your reaction so much!!! He has a new performance that would fit a tv series/movie with an epic theme so much!! It's called "stranger" :D
Dimash studies and practices music since he was 5. You can find performances/music videos of him with many different genres (pop, rock, opera, folk, ballad...)
About the fifth element song, he has sung it a few times 😂 One of the best versions is "Dimash diva dance bastau concert 2017"
He has 7 octaves of voice, but he doesn't like much when people only pay attention to this... He likes to show emotions when he sings and to make people feel what he is singing... We can see he does that very well 😂
He has a bunch of outstanding performances... You guys are gonna be amazed every single time! haha

Please react to everything this guy has sung, he's amazing - this includes, Endless Dimensions which was a song he was requested to do for a movie called Creators - The Past. His new stuff is even better, if that's possible, Stranger, Ave Maria, Fly Away are his very latest ones. Please make sure you use a filter, or it may be blocked on You Tube.
