Today (March 27, 2024) would’ve been the fabulous Sarah Vaughan’s 100th birthday. I was so fortunate to get to work with her on a number of projects, including our 1982 recording of Gershwin Live! with the LA Phil, which won her the GRAMMY for Best Jazz Vocal Album, Female. Here we’re working on Gershwin’s “Sweet and Lowdown.” She was gone too soon, but all the music she left is a gift.

When I say this, it's real talk. Im currently 54 years old, and Sarah Vaughan has been my favorite artist of all time. Not being overly dramatic but before I pass away, seeing the full concert of your production Gershwin Live with Sassy would be a Dream Come True ❤❤❤
