  • In the shadowed aftermath of the devastating Clone Wars, the galaxy found itself ensnared in the clutches of a new and more ominous epoch of tyranny and strife. The rise of the Galactic Empire, under the cold and unyielding dominion of Emperor Palpatine, signaled a stark departure from the democratic ideals of both the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This era was not merely a transition of power but a profound metamorphosis in the very essence of warfare and governance that stretched across the galaxy. At the heart of this dark transformation lay the Reconquest of the Rim, an Imperial campaign that epitomized the grim realities of this new galactic order.
Following the Declaration of a New Order, Emperor Palpatine realized his long-cherished ambition of absolute sovereignty. His reign extended over a sprawling civilization, bolstered by an unrelenting police state dedicated to preserving order and a formidable military-industrial apparatus designed to suppress any form of dissent. With the Jedi Order, once the stalwart defenders of peace and justice, now a mere shadow of its former self, a gaping void was left in the moral fabric of the galaxy-a void that Palpatine filled with a merciless efficiency unmatched in history. Commandeering legions of adept officers and countless clone Stormtroopers, he forged a regime that thrived on identifying and combating both real and conjured enemies to legitimize its repressive actions.
The campaign known as the Reconquest of the Rim, which captured the public's imagination and fear in equal measure, became a symbol of the Empire's new order. In the aftermath of the Mission to Mustafar and the obliteration of the Separatist Council, the Confederacy's backbone was broken, its armies left directionless. Yet, the spirit of resistance that had fueled the Confederacy lived on through steadfast supporters who dared to defy the nascent Empire, especially within the lawless expanses of the Outer Rim. This resistance morphed into a kind of second Clone Wars, now veiled under a much more malevolent banner.
Between the years 19 and 17 before the Battle of Yavin (BBY), the Imperial Military embarked on numerous campaigns to quell these Separatist holdouts and their new allies among various pirate groups. Operations such as the Ciutric Offensive, the Sy Myrthian Insurrection, the Five Veils Campaign, the Listehol Campaign, the Noolian Crisis, and the Western Reaches Operation were marked by their strategic brilliance and efficacy in extending the Empire's reach and cementing its authority. These military conquests elevated figures like Grand Moff Tarkin to legendary status, their images burnished by the Empire's propagandistic media outlets. However, the Reconquest of the Rim was also synonymous with a level of brutality that surpassed even the horrors of the Clone Wars.
Deprived of the Jedi's guidance, who had once infused the Republic's military endeavors with their wisdom and ethical principles, the Imperial Military adopted tactics of unparalleled ruthlessness. The void left by the Jedi and the unchecked brutality of the Imperial forces fostered an atmosphere of dread and subjugation, a stark departure from the ideals once championed by the Republic. Notably, the Reconquest of the Rim, marked a dramatic shift in the nature of military engagement and the treatment of civilian populations, especially those with past affiliations to the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The clone troopers, who once fought under the principled leadership of the Jedi, now exhibited a chilling disregard for civilian life, a stance that was not only permitted but often spurred on by their commanding officers.
The first of these campaigns was the Ciutrric Offensive. In the aftermath of this purge, remnants of the Confederate forces, reeling from defeats on the battlegrounds of Muunilinst and Mygeeto, navigated the treacherous expanses of the Void of Chopani. They sought refuge and a new bastion of resistance within the Ciutric sector, cobbling together a semblance of power with the aid of enigmatic benefactors from Serenno and Celanon. Their ranks swelled with the addition of pirates and Thalassian slavers, who cast their lot with the Separatists, now rebranded as privateers in a bold challenge to Imperial supremacy. The Empire, ever vigilant and relentless, was quick to respond to this nascent threat.

Personal head canon: The Reconquest of the Rim is the reason why citizens on 17 BBY and onwards, call it the “Clone War”s”. The first Clone War was 22bby-19bby while the second one was 19bby-17bby

Vader's reaction to the enslavement families is just more proof of the light of Anakin within him! Too bad Vader himself was pretty much a slave to the Emperor due to his cybernetics being vulnerable to Force Lightning! Really goes to show how far Anakin had fallen to the point he found himself in league with an Empire that tolerated slavery!

I wouldn't love him focus on the CIS Holdouts and Republic Planets in the Bad Batch and more of how Clones were treated as Canon fire to the Galatic Empire ❤

would the Clones have been wearing their phase 2 clone armour for these offensives or would they have switched to stormtrooper armour by now? I often see contradictory evidence for both.
