@@pubgone-iw7bz The Magnus effect will become weaker. His opponents do not yet count on such mistakes from Magnus. You don't believe that Keymer or Abasov would need an engine if they had checked the position. For example, Keymer did not even consider Nxe4 (and magnus is out) ... precisely because of the Magnuseffect. same by Qf1 for Abasov. Everybody need some "Luck" for win such a strong Tourney

Abasov spotted the idea actually. His idea of going Rg6 was to follow up with Qf1 and Rg2 winning the game.
He just did the move order wrong.
Qf1 is not a hard move to spot since you only need to calculate 2-3 moves ahead. It wasn't a long variation

Yep, far too early to call. Magnus is still the highest rated player in the world, but losses are happening a bit more frequently than they were a few years ago - he is clearly a little past his peak. So I wouldn't write either Prag or Fabio off yet - on current form Prag, especially, is a big threat.

Bravo Magnus, he found Kb4, while Nijat, who played a very good game against the highest rated player, missed Qf1, which was honestly more difficult to see.

Qf1 was by far harder to find, it was normal he missed it. Magnus only noticed that move in the Interview and he was shown that move

At 6:30 how does black lose material after Rxd3 Re7 Rd7 ? I don't see any tactics in white's favor after Rd7 and white also stands to lose the g4 pawn after that. What am I missing?

I dif not understand what agad ment about he hoped that Magnus would capture king A7!? (When Magnus played d4). What was black's hope he would blunder? That he did not se that his bishop was attacked? 😅
