Great way to steam buns. Unfortunately, being in Chicago they will now proceed to turn a hot dog into a salad on a bun. 🤣

Yes, I can do that! When you leave hot dogs in the steamer for too long they start to change color. I think it's from sitting on the hot metal. We try to manage our inventory so that they stay fresh
I read that some vendors mix liquids and spices into the water to prevent darkness and give flavors but I have learn not the precise substances.
That's interesting. We've never done that. I'll have to read up on that!
Delicious and good recipes
I use a wet clean rag and double layer on the bottom and insert two foil sheets on top and i never waist buns.

Also you can keep the lid off
For sure. Keeping the lid on helps stretch the steam/water. When you're mobile, you can run out of water a lot quicker than you've anticipated if the lid is off

Yea, time went by so condensation built up on the pan lid. I don't remember how much. Probably a few minutes
