Great video. Just finished my first feature and starting edit next week so this is a very timely video. Great advice and insight
I'm glad you found it useful! Congrats on wrapping the feature and good luck with the post! :)
Thx for our tipps.
Glad you found it useful! :)
I have learnt something today, thank you so much sir
Glad you found it useful! :)
Your channel has been super helpful for me! thanks man
Would love see a video about how you lit some of the shots in Almosting it.
Cheers!
Thanks man! Sure, I would actually really like to do more about that film--I'll see what I can put together in the future :)
Awesome content man! I'm waiting for your BTS video on Heritage and Almosting It!
Thanks man. Most of any BTS from those will be found in this current video but I do want to do a bit more of a "making of" at some point :)
Another great video, Will. Really appreciate the advice from someone who's been in the trenches. All great points and I would especially echo the point about getting wides and inserts. I did a feature that was completely "real time" in a contained space a few years ago (would not recommend, continuity nightmare) and would have loved some more inserts to give me more control/flexibility in the edit.
Thank you so much! And wow! That sounds like a crazy project. When was that?
@@WillvonTagen Shot in 2016, finished editing it early last year. I don't think the film will ever see the light of day. Was approached by a producer to do it, so it wasn't my original script (though I got to do re-writes) or me funding it (well...mostly), but was close to no budget anyways. I don't own it. Anyways, kind of okay to have nothing happen with it at this point, proud of the hard work and that I finished a film, not super proud of the film itself. Happy to be moving on and would love to make a feature that's mine from the ground up.
@@obscuritypictures Finishing a film is a huge accomplishment. What ever happens, definitely feel proud. Congrats :)
Great Channel and I enjoyed all the tips on re-shoot. . I just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you very much!
Cool
Thank you!
Can you make a video on how to get the best voice recordings, as in your videos. I am most of the time a one man show. My footage is good, but I still want the best sound, especially narration.
I'll see what I can do! :)
Hi, is really necessary an IR filter ? Thanks in advance
If you want to use ND above 0.9 (3 stops) you’ll need IR cut. However, 0.9 or less is generally okay to use standard ND without much color shift 👍🏻
Wil what camera do you use to shoot your youtube videos ?
