Quick question. How long before the computer noticed a new catalytic condition ? After changing mine it still had a surge at part throttle getting on the freeway. FORScan brought up a maturing P0430 ,but no light.
@@tilt213 You can disconnect the negative cable from the Battery, turn on your lights to drain all electrical from the system, wait 1 min, connect the cable back on. That should clear the monitors and pending codes. Drive it for a couple of days to clear the MONITORS and hopefully that should work. It needs to complete the drive cycle MONITORS in order to clear any pending or permanent codes. Bank 2 is the front one so it's just probably taking time for the ECU to recognize it has been replaced. Good luck buddy! Thank you for your support!

You have 2. 1 in the front behind the radiator and another behind the engine. Bank 2 is the front and bank 1 is the rear one. Thats the one its throwing a code for. That looked difficult when I was down there. The front one is easier. Sorry bro but if its throwing a code for it, it's starting to go bad. I e noticed that after 100,000 miles they start to go bad...this is a Dealer Item only due to emissions. Good luck bro!

Does it effect on fuel consumption? Mine have the same error and my only concern is that I drive 14L/100km. Also is there any risk for not changing the converter?
Hey brother quick question i have a 2013 ford explorer with a check engine line i scanned it and got P0430 catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2. Now is my issue the sensors on the cat or the cats itself? Truck is driving like a new truck no issues super great on gas showing zero signs or anything bad. I also cleared the code twice it stays out for weeks then come back on what should i do?
Yeah for code 420 and 430 are the cats. The oxygen sensor is doing its job, its detecting the bank2 cat is going out. Sometimes you get a rotten egg smell. Bank 2 will eventually have to get replaced. Sorry bud.

My experience its cats. Their is no getting around a 420 or 430 code. 100% cats. The oxygen sensor is doing its job. Found this... (Basically this means that the oxygen sensor downstream of the catalytic converter on bank 2 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). Not any real loss of power but bank 2 I felt the loss as soon as the light went on. Anyone looking at this the government pays dealers for up to 80k miles and I believe 8 years

Yes fuel consumption will happen if this doesn't get changed. It can get clogged and ruin the engine over time

The dealership only, California will not pass aftermarket cats.....and it will cause a check engine as well

The sensor i looking at is it bank 2sensor 1. Cus i got 06 ford freestyle. N i got a code saying bank 2 sensor 1
