  • The Supreme court recently directed the central and state governments to issue Voter IDs, Aadhar cards and Ration cards to sex workers in our country, which is actually their fundamental right. This community has been socially stigmatized for a long time and in this Episode we talk about some of the problems faced by the sex worker community.
We also try to find the answer to the perennial question: Is Decriminalization the next logical step?

Both these are important but people think these are just taboo. I hope people like you give us the proper education which we need. As I haven't read or saw such things of that period but yup i saw gods being genderfluid like lord krishna who was very well known to incarnate as girl and doing rasleela with other gopis & even he moan for a men in mahabharat ...king bhagirathi was given birth by two women on the order of lord shiva...varun dev and mitra dev was a homosexual couple nd much more but plz it's a request dont include those man made shitty prathas in our culture!!!

Thanks for covering this taboo topic 🙏
The fear is that legalization may lead to exponential rise in sex trafficking & normalisation of sexual exploitation in name of work/ industry.
The question is if this is a legal industry- will we want our mothers, sisters & daughters to be employed there? Then why do we want "other women" to be there.
Are we ok with our fathers & sons hiring for the industry & taking "legal services" from the hires?
What prevents men from transferring the same attitude of commodification to other women around them.
Turning a human being into an object of use or sale reduces respect & dignity for other living beings as equals.

Thanks to Meena Sheshuji for her lifetime work & efforts on marginalized communities, prevention of AIDS & sex workers betterment. 🙏

Great work . Sarthak. There aren't many who spoke about such a very relevant topic. And there aren't any other than you who has researched this issue so much and presented the same so impactfully within so much less screen time. You have mastered in delivering big in short timelines .. And as even others commented, the last line is such a punch. I remember the time I saw you first on Haftaa Nikaal. To be honest your weren't very impressive. Then from thereon the way you worked yourself and leaped higher and higher episode after episode .. It was just awesome. And let me add ... With this piece of work you have placed yourself a lot more higher. A lot of respect brother.

And forget about legalising it at least recognize the fact that they are human beings succumbed to their situations.

Sarthak, wishing you the very best in this journey. Been seeing your growth since Hafta Nikaal, and I agree with many of the comments, that your strengths are growing very consistently and awesomely. Keep up the fantastic work. I especially appreciate your first topic; as it challenges many of us, to be rightly discomforted and, at the least, think about socially stigmatized and legally oppressed individuals. What got me to tears was learning the fact, that is 2004, there were 1,008,000 (1.08 million; thr 36%) children in the sex trade.
Thank you for doing what you do. Bravo!

Hey Sarthak! It's another great show. I have been watching you for one year and am a great admirer of your presentation approach. One suggestion though, consider citing the sources within the video (maybe at a corner of the frame or below the snippet) when you show snippets for reference. It would increase credibility of the info. I'm just writing my opinion as a viewer and friend, who craves your videos and want them to improve over time. Please don't take it otherwise. Good luck😊

Good job! Shining light on a serious subject. Mazey lene hai toh istemaal karo, taqleed bataayi toh bhaag jaao. Hypocrisy ki seema. I believe that we as a nation are maturing superfast. Marginalised community issues are being dealt with at a rapid rate. If this "world's oldest profession" has crores of members I think politicians, activists and the public should get together to do something radical. The SC has taken a huge step in this direction. I think they should be allowed access to financial market services, so they can increase their income through investments and get out of it sooner if they so desire. *Vishwa Guru aise hi nahi bantey"👍

A topic well addressed!! With years of socialisation, the majority of population has been conditioned to disregard the existence of sex workers, alienating them from the society which selectively 'utilizes them as a commodity' however fails to socially accept them & protect their rights. Irony just died!
Thanks for bringing this onto your platform, Sarthak. Hope we evolve as an inclusive & sensitive society.

We need to find the root cause(s) of such problems, which cannot be done by looking at them through a specific perspective. We need to consider hell lot of factors, which are resulting in such situations.
In my personal opinion, Society plays a very important role here because the Society doesn't want to look at other POV at all. That can only be changed when Educated people start becoming the part of society who have seen everything so that they can judge things from a bigger perspective instead of their own angle only.
