I was hoping Dee would burst into a chorus of Good Morning, Baltimore when you looked out upon the skyline!
My biggest takeaway from this vlog is that this ship needs a full renovation ASAP. Or the scrapyard.
Just from the balcony door? The main parts of the ship look pretty awesome to me.
The ship is really in good shape! I don't know why they didn't do a better job repairing that door!

Something I've noticed about Spirit class ships in general is that they tend to keep some of the traditional stuff when the rest of the fleet has done away with it. The Spirit to Alaska had table cloths every night in the MDR, for example.

In Tampa, at least for the Pride, but probably all the Spirit Class ships, but they were designed around the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. I think they said there was about 20ft of clearance under the bridge.
Cant wait to watch this series and see you explore Newfoundland!

It is really cool when you are driving over the Bay Bridge and you see a cruise ship sailing underneath!
You need to add the Sydney harbour bridge to your sailing under bridges list.
And the Dames Point Bridge in Jacksonville, FL! ;)

My favorite bridge to go under is the Golden Gate but do love the one out of New York City. Love your vlogs. Thanks for all the work you put in

I can't believe it! We got off The Legend in Baltimore and you were getting on it - Sept.2, 2023. Our cruise didn't work out the way we planned. We were suppose to go to Bermuda, but went to Bahamas. So close to running into you. Love you all!
I was on that same sailing! The rocking on the night before disembarkment woke me up at 4:30 in the morning! I went and got coffee played in the casino and banked $500! Was a good morning.
I was disappointed when the ship sold out and I was unable to book it. Considering, how the sailing turned out glad I was unable to book it. 👍
True! For a $6,000+ bucket list cruise, we were a little downtrodden with how everything turned out, though we obviously prefer safety over anything else!! :P

The water lol yeah no joke! My second cruise I was making sure to drink more water but it was from the machines and my ankles swelled up so much by the 3rd day yikes! So annoying bc I had the drinks package and could have gotten all the bottled water I wanted! lol next time 🧐

We were right above you, well almost. 6218. Hope your A/C worked better than ours. lol I really hope they do some updates on the balcony doors. Ours was a hot mess too. Had to slam it shut and it still didn't close right.
Those ships in the Bay near Annapolis and the Bay Bridge are waiting to unload at the Port of Baltimore. The Port of Baltimore has increased their cargo business over the past few years. Also, NCL is now sailing out of Baltimore (in addition to Carnival and Royal Caribbean).
Missed you on formal night, we were there too. lol you went up to 10 like we do. Not sure how folks don't know you can do that and not walk up that staircase. Eeeccckkkk.
Between 10:33 and 11:22 the bridge you went under just collapsed.
I had planned on going on this one. I decided to hold off til Jan 2024 and do another Journeys cruise in the Southern Caribbean instead.

Ooooo, I am booked on the Legend in cabin 5123 (but not until she sails from San Francisco in 2025).
I personally would say it’s pretty impressive to go under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on a cruise ship. But that could be just be me.
Yesssss, we did that on Princess which was awesome, though the captain decided that we needed to hear the "Love Boat" horn a hundred times, ha ha... :P
We were on the Miracle in July 5, 2022 to Alaska and it was quite thrilling to sail under the Golden Gate

The only time we had tough lobster was in the MDR not the steakhouse.

I just had a wild thought. What if there were ramps rather than stairs. Now even wheelchairs can move up and down easier.😮
We had a 1 PM embarkation time and didn't get the famous "Show up an hour late" email. We got to the port at 12:30 and got right on the ship!

We were scheduled to leave out of Baltimore on the Sept 23rd on Royal. Vision. They canceled the entire cruise. At least I have your videos to keep me going. Don't think hubby wants to plan another :(

How long after you left port did you go under the 2nd bridge? We are sailing out at 5PM in december and I'm assuming it will be dark but I am hoping to catch a glimpse of it because that's the bridge we cross on the way to beach every summer. Thanks!
According to the timestamps on my video files, we passed under the Key Bridge about 35 minutes after leaving the pier, and the second bridge about 1 hour 45 minutes after leaving the pier.

So do they have sea day brunch on all 5 sea days?
No, they seem to pick and choose. Some sea days, you end up with breakfast and possibly a separate lunch service in the MDR.
I know 8 days plus are free of the dregs of society on Carnival, but I love older ships, especially older Princess ships that have wrap around decks and a lot of activities on board. Also I like a ship that feels like a ship, and not your local mall.
How long after sail away till the ship goes under the bridge?
I thought that Ricky and Laura were going to join you, and also a bunch of your cruise friends.
We don't recall Ricky & Laura being booked on this cruise, but there were a handful of vloggers booked at one point. They all changed their minds though!! :P ~Jay

I would NOT be getting a spa pass if the gym overlooks the thelosotherapy pool. That seems like a major design flaw.
I keep only seeing the lack of things even on day one, compared to other cruiselines they are very old and not like up to scale for what you pay for it seems
Totally not true! Just sailed on this ship in July with 2 teenagers and we all had a blast! We were always busy, and some days were not able to get everything done!

I am so confused by the theme and decor of that ship. It seems so over-the-top.

This was promoted as a "bucket list" cruise and the minimum cabin rate that we saw to get onboard was $6,000 unless you were a casino player, which we sadly aren't with Carnival! We paid the big bucks indeed. Yow!!

Agree. I cruise on legend to Bermuda but I can't deal with that room and bathroom for 2 weeks for Greenland
