Great video and overall review of this trip. I was on this cruise as well and after 15 years of complete loyalty to carnival my next two cruises are booked on Royal as it's time for us to experience another line. There were too many little things on this cruise that fell way flat of what I have come to expect from Carnival. We are gonna attempt Greenland again next year on Royal out of Boston.
So glad I got to cruise with y’all again. Hope we can do it again in the future. We didn’t have any problem with laundry and we sent in several bags throughout the cruise. My opinion on food is it was ok. ( my favorite was the pb&j sandwich..lol ) I think when you cruise a lot and eat the same food you kinda get tired of it. Maybe we need to do more of the larger ships with more options. Over all we enjoyed it. Jay thanks for my song…I still chuckle every time I watch a vlog in this series 😂 Y’all are the BEST!
The tender ticket thing was a total dibacle. I know exactly who you were talking about and they were causing a lot of issues. I personally sat at the little couches and watched the line and got the last tender zone and was off the ship in St. Anthony within an hour. So moral of the story, they all lined up and acted crazy for no reason.
I think folks were most concerned about getting the tender tickets for the private tour groups in Greenland, though that turned out not to be an issue, sadly. So even the last tender groups were off in an hour in Saint Anthony? Wowwwww, that really puts the whole thing in more perspective now!!
@@parodeejayyep I was Zone 24 and on the dock in St. Anthony at 8:50. And yeah that was their biggest issue because they were told the last shuttle was leaving at 9:45, well they would’ve made it in plenty of time and could’ve enjoyed all the throwback sea day events.
@@parodeejay we didn't have plans so we were off and there in port about 9:30 like @andrewadkins7449 stated. We were at the alchemy bar and the line was to the aft elevators and were actually chuckling about the line. Folks were getting in trouble for taking chairs, stools, etc to sit as they waited in line then got mad because they had to put them back. The "instigators" are still at it. Sadly, because of their nonsense we had to pause our group page. The "ring leader" just WON'T stop. They even caused John Heald to address the "can you sell things on board" stuff as well as "can you take a collapsible wagon on at embarkation" You just have to shake your heads at the childishness in all honesty.
Watched every video. Sorry you guys didn't get to go to Greenland, but I think it's great that at each port you went out and made the most of what was in the area, checking out different things. Love the enthusiasm you guys bring to cruising.
Glad you are home safe and sound… definitely sounds like a different carnival cruise… Concerns me a little bit since we're taking our family on the legend next month during Thanksgiving… The uncooked fish should never have happened… I'm wondering if they cooked the fish from the frozen state... so dangerous to serve uncooked food… My girlfriend show me a picture of totally undercooked chicken and I believe it was the magic… Hoping our experience on the legend is better than yours, especially because this will be our grand children's first cruise… Thanks for all you do!! I would like to add that we live in Virginia Beach and have cruised on the legend a couple of times with very good experiences… Hopefully your cruise was a little off because of the crazy hurricane… hopefully future legend cruises go back to their normal quality🤞🤞thank you for your honesty
Very nice series! Having been on the Legend this year, we really enjoyed it. FYI: If you liked Newfoundland, you may enjoy the book The Shipping News by E. Annie Proulx. I loved the dry humor, and it has a certain aesthetic appeal; much like Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales, in the course of telling a story it paints a lovely picture of every day life in Newfoundland.
We were on this cruise and were also very disappointed that there was NO 80s R&G party 😢 heard that the Aug Greenland cruise had the 80s party and there was very scant response due to the age demographic.
Thanks for the videos, we were on this cruise also, but you guys did different things on the ship and on land than we did, so it was fun to see other activities! I heard about the accessibility early on the process, I felt Carnival re-enforced it later on.
Great video! I always enjoy your thorough reviews - including the laundry. We went to Canada on the Venezia and packed light with intention of using the laundry service. The 1st x it was delivered in the room and perfect; 2nd x we were coming back to our room and saw our bag sitting outside our neighbors door but again all perfect; 3rd x I figured around delivery time I better go to the room and see if I see it coming and I did and the guy gave me the bag but most the clothes were damp. Now I’m pretty easy going because I get how it’s just not an easy job so I didn’t worry about it - I just hung everything up and went on my way. But given your feedback it seems they probably just get overwhelmed as the week goes on. I didn’t put that together then but realized it now and since we just booked two more cruises on the Venezia 🎉🎉 I’ll know to have a good laundry game plan in place!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Again - thanks for all your information- you’ve made our return to cruising so much easier!!
Good morning dee Jay. I love your vlog but 7,99 for the shower it s impossible fo your notation i put 0,00 i am sorry. I think that your preferate cruise company it s carnival. Sorry for my english 🙂😉
You guys are very understanding - I wasn’t on this cruise but if I had been I would have been PISSED! I only go on 1 big vacation a year, if I’m lucky, and after missing out during Covid if I had wasted my time and hard earned money on a cruise that was not what I had paid for and lackluster to boot I would have been downright livid, especially since Carnival seems to have done practically nothing to make it up to all of the guests! 😱🤦🏻♂️
95% of the time it’s not an issue. What happened was there was an independent tour operator onboard who very graciously booked all kinds of excursions through third parties. That tour coordinator also started a lot of drama onboard and made people feel extra anxious about missing the excursions they paid for. When in all reality, there was never going to be an issue. Yes we missed ports and scrambled the order which caused problems as you could imagine. But one port in Greenland would’ve been a tender nightmare because they could only run a single life boat at a time. Well we never went to Greenland so never hit that port. St. Anthony was the only tender port and like I said seamless.
We were on the Legend with you and I understand what you were saying about the Legend. We were a bit disappointed in the ship. I think I read or heard somewherE that the Legend is going to be redone next spring. We are booked to do a Grecian cruise on the Legend In Oct. of 2024 and the the TA back to Tampa. Do you think the experience will be different next fall ? I am a bit nervous now about the ship. 25:3425:37
Yes, the Legend is going into dry dock so hopefully the "glitches" in things will get fixed. Like some A/C issues, our balcony door and I know others were in dire need of repair etc. Hopefully they get their staffing resolved in the laundry because I know they were short staffed, and some machines needed repair. I would love to do the Grecian and the TA back. Stay positive, remember that "things" happen and while disappointing if it isn't something you can control but you report issues and try to resolve the situation in a way that it is a positive discussion that goes a LONG way.
It did look a fine cruise indeed and know Carnival did try their best. Think if it had been my one cruise this year I may have been somewhat disappointed though. Could you use the $400 dollars towards another cruise?
Curious what you did with your car for the duration of this cruise and the Alaska cruise? I imagine you had long term parking somewhere in Baltimore, but I would be interested in knowing where you parked and if you were comfortable leaving it for such an extended period. I'm sure you made the best choice from a logistics standpoint to disembark in Halifax, as flight schedules over that weekend were a mess.
We used Parkway Parking for the first time, and they were good to work with for extending the parking when we needed it. We’d definitely use them again!! :D
It would be interesting to know since you cut your cruise short due to unforseen circumstances. Did they give you the full 14 days for VIFP point for did you only get 11?
Are the sharks on the Kayak commercials the current cruise line executives? Because ordinary folks who have been watching cruisers on CZcams get us to safe sailing are now priced out of the market.... Just wondering!
No, there were quite a few people who exited the ship over those few port days, so it was not due to any special circumstances with us that we could tell.
You both are too polite. This cruise was a waste of money! No Greenland! 4 comedians doing repeat shows over 10 days. Boring! No Deck parties. Too few shows! Overall lack of entertainment! Mediocre food at best. Carnival ripping us off. Won’t ever sail with them again because of the way they treated us on this very expensive cruise.
I totally agree with you. Jay and Dee like to highlight the thrill of cruising, and this was a horror. Not only did they take a cruise to nowhere, the food and entertainment were terrible. An old cruise ship with average food and passing cruise member karaoke as entertainment is unacceptable. I looked at the Cheerios in the bowl with fat free milk from a carton and thought that this was more of a sentence than a vacation.
@@gregdrivesdriver5104, I too agree. I enjoy watching Jay and Dee even though Carnival is not a line I would cruise. The food looks and is repetitive, quite greasy and so much is deep fried. TOTALLY agree about the atrocious adults and it's STILL going on. Which just blows my mind.
