Was on legend the week after you just to Halifax and St. John, Portland maine, and Boston, had been on legend back when it was Destiny in 2001, before remodel. Great size. We got back late to Baltimore due to Ophelia churning up the seas, noon instead of 10am .
I feel so bad for everyone on that sailing. I heard it was expensive. But maybe it's a cautionary tale about not sailing in hurricane season. Not sure why Carnival scheduled it in September.
The height of the hurricane seasn is on Sept. 10 every year. Hurricane season starts on June 1st. When is it warm enough but not super hot to be able to sail to Greenland?
@jeannecrawford6324 Typically, there is not significant hurricane activity until later in July and beyond. They could offer June sailings and pax can dress like it's May in Alaska. This was a Journeys cruise so a lot more at stake, in my opinion.

We missed Bermuda the week before you guys. We really enjoyed the group playing in the Red Fog Lounge. We went there several times even for sports trivia. Really liked this old ship! Jay,Love ur socks
Our Greenland had cancellations also last year. Cruise lines should track how many times these occur and adjust the timelines during certain times of the year to avoid these disappointments and compensations they have to give out. Just saying... Rock on !!
We walked out of the Al fresco dinner. They sat us at a guys bench and then the menu was mdr. Glad we did the buffet had the only dish in the two weeks that had any flavor. The shrimp creole and they only served it one time. I asked for it on Day 13. Maitre d got the chef to fix one just for me. Highlight of the two weeks
Even though I knew what was going to happen it was still disappointing to see… I was like one of those people at the movie theater yelling at the screen at 9:23 when you were looking at the forecast and we’re still optimistic about making it to Greenland! Or when you were sure they would do more than a measly $400 onboard credit per cabin! 😱😭
We ate so many nights in the MDR for anytime (YUMMY food this whole cruise btw). We just requested the table about 10 minutes after they opened requests and got super lucky with times. I'm chuckling watching this because there were so many things that I saw and you were right around us and I just didn't even see you two. Apparently my attention span is minimal for people watching. lol
How Disappointing but understandable, Safety first of course. I have to admit as a Viewer/Subscriber I was looking forward to seeing how Greenland differed from both Iceland and Alaska and maybe spotting some Polar bears. Never mind I can enjoy imagining how Jay feels on an exra long Poutine and Beaver tail expedition instead. 😜🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

For us personally, better portion control and the ability to get more vegetables and avoid excess sauces, things like that. We were trying to eat a little lighter on this long sailing!! :P

When we were on the Legend we called the Buffet the barfet
Was not happy with the quality of food. Mushy pasta et al. The salad bars on the Spirit class ships are by far the best dinner options on Carnival.
