I have been going to Knock for years for the first Saturday devotion, but I got so fed up listening to climate change homilies that I stopped going. Last Saturday I went for the first time in a while and I heard a homily about fasting. Praise God. It is one of the most amazing apparitions but there is no will to get the message out there and the Irish have thrown out the faith faster than any nation on the planet. My Mayo ancestors suffered for their faith and I wish more people would realise how it sustained them through brutally hard times. I hope people wake up fast because we are in for a tough time in the next few years, and they have no foundation and no relationship with God to get through it

I am with you one hundred per cent on all that you have said. As so many have said in recent times, when the Church decides to be 'relevant', that's when the salt begins to lose its savour. I can understand that people going to Knock nowadays may not fully appreciate why we are remembering those events from a far distant past. People go there out of curiosity, or by accident, or, if they're lucky, with a parish group. We have to acknowledge that few people today are as knowledgeable about their faith as previous generations. Far easier to talk about climate change.

This new climate cult within the church is devastating and creepy. There’s definitely a wing in the Vatican that wants to throw out Christ and replace him with man.

These are the last of the very last days!!!. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth no one will see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." For God so loved the world that He give His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the World through Him. God's Word in the Bible also says, " For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, and All who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." " If you want to be sure of Heaven and avoid the other place below say the following prayer sincerely from your heart." Lord Jesus I repent and am sorry for my sins forgive me. I forgive all who have offended me.I believe you died and Rose again .Come into my heart and save me. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and baptise me with your Holy Spirit. Fulfill your plan and purpose in my life. "I recommend you read John's Gospel especially chapter 3.Gbu.John 3v3v22,John 14v6.

In August - September 2023, I visited Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland from Toronto, Canada. While I was in Galway for a week, I took the public bus to Knock for a one day visit. While I enjoyed my visit to the Shrine, I found the village underwhelming and disappointing. As I waited a little over an hour for the public bus back to Galway, I walked around. It was difficult to find a place to for a quick bite of food at a reasonable price. And, yes, I agree. Besides the daily Mass, there was not much more on offer spiritually at the Shrine. Hopefully, the arrival of Muslim refugees will light a fire in the Irish so that they will fight for the One True Faith and Holy Mother Church.

Monsignor Horan got Knock International airport built to develop a fabulous pilgrim site, but Irish peoole use tge airport big time to fly out! All back to front. A small perpetual Eucharistic adoration in the Apparition Chapel is the first thing that is needed, along with confessions in the old church. My favourite memories of Knock as a child, was the overnight programme where we walked around the church all night long saying rosaries. Bring all that back, we don't realise how much we need this food for our soul.

We are now Cultural Catholics in other words we still have Catholic values and the government is taking advantage of that. Adortion was pushed to replace the Irish. So sad about Knock. The closest equivalent, Walsingham in England, has a proper programme every day, the village still has pubs, gift shops and everything else. And it sounds as if it's cheaper to stay there as well, although accommodation prices have been rising rapidly in the past few years. Considering England is not a Catholic country and hasn't been since the reformation, it does reasonably well. I just pray for the future of both shrines.

    I agree 100% Robert -
there is no interest in knock as a destination pilgrimage -
the bishops lead their dioceses to Lourdes every year and that is very expensive for participants - money is not the reason people stay away from Knock.
It's the total LACK of clerical information to the laity
Knock SHOULD. Be promoted as a Eucharistic shrine -
I have NEVER heard anyone explain well about the Lamb of God on the alter in the apparition
As well as a Marian Shrine, and a Eucharistic Shrine, Knock should a be a pilgrimage destination too because of St Joseph -
how many places has he appeared in the world -

yes you are correct .. there are of course many from all over Ireland
I didn't explain properly I was meaning for longer than a few hours -
it takes longer for many parishes to go and return from Knock than the time the people spend there
there is no consistent regular programme to nurture and support pilgrims .
      no Eucharistic adoration ...
Not much opportunity for confession in a few hours there ..
.nor opportunity for reconnection to the faith if one has fallen away -
there is no active visible ministry there really...
I've visited many times in the past few years and it's as Robert says...
And that is a tragedy from a place blessed to have had a visitation not only of the Mother of God But her Son as the Lamb of God appeared in Knock

Hi Robert, Greetings from America! I wanted to give you my point of view as someone who visited Knock from another country. Here in America we only have one shrine where Mary appeared that has been officially approved by the Church, and that is the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Wisconsin. My family and I visited there a few years ago and it was peaceful in some ways, but also very empty of other visitors. I was longing to go to a place where Mary had appeared that was a little more vibrant. A couple of years ago I felt moved to take my family to Lourdes so we went, and it was moving to see the place where Mary appeared to St Bernadette. I was grateful that I was able to visit, but I was a little disturbed by all the vendors and commercialism. Then last year I took my family to Ireland as I always wanted to visit the country where my father’s family originally came from ( my ancestors were Reddingtons from county mayo, and O’Briens on my grandmother’s side ) and also to do a pilgrimage to Knock. A great love for the Blessed Mother was passed down to me from my very devout grandmother :) I planned our visit to Knock for the feast day of 8/21. We arrived the evening before as there was going to be a Mass there in the evening and I was shocked that the place was nearly devoid of people until just before the Mass. We returned on the 22nd and there were some visitors but no where near the number I was expecting. My take on it is this… we are living through a time when many have fallen away from the faith and there are only a remnant of faithful Catholics left. In spite of the lack of numbers of faithful visiting, the experience was still awe inspiring and honestly very peaceful as I felt Our Lady’s presence there. In some ways, I liked it better than Lourdes where there were so many who were there just to take advantage of the pilgrims. We also visited Mount Melleray in Waterford County earlier in August on the day when Mary allegedly appeared there and except for 1 or 2 people, we were the only ones there. Do you have an opinion on the validity of Mt Melleray? I actually got chills while standing there looking up at the statue of Our Lady mounted on the hill where she was said to have appeared. Thanks, and God bless you Robert! I alway enjoy your videos!

So... very important to hear about Knock, but can't you be a bit more brief... or at least be a bit more positive... we get the message in the first few minutes.
So - what are your POSITIVE suggestions? Otherwise your talk is one long line of horrified exclamations... SOLUTIONS? that's what we need to hear... not endless negative comparisons. I'm so sorry it's so difficult in Knock. How about a rallying call, instead of what has NOT been done. God bless.

Regarding knock, it is the most important shrine possible in the world. I think that’s why it’s suppressed because it’s so important and people don’t realise. I myself had two miraculous healings in knock from growths on my skin. About 7 years ago on both my feet and they were gone next day after months of trying to get them heal. New Year’s Day 2024 the same thing happened. I had a growth on my lip for a year. While Waiting on a consultant I went to Lourdes in October hoping it be healed. But not, and I went to knock on New Year’s Day without planning it. I asked mother Mary in apparition chapel to heal it. Next morning it was gone completely. Not a trace left. So keep your faith in knock. Mother Mary is more powerful than anything else. Everything around it might be disappointing but our lady’s presence and the holy family are ever present. I love knock. Would have liked to have moved there, but I think I’ll pass on that now. I wouldn’t like the changes but I’ll still visit as often as I can.

One ironic observation. A few years back, we noticed a sign at Knock Shrine referring to a respectable dress code. On visiting the shrine at a later date, some young women decided to take off their coats to reveal scanty party dresses in the Apparition Chapel at Mass while partaking in the Liturgy. It was not hot weather and they were clearly part of a larger family group celebrating some event. We then noticed that the dress code sign outside had been removed. We also felt at the time that this sort of irreverent display was highly unbecoming of a unique Marian world shrine, never mind a Holy Mass.

I agree with you 100%, on absolutely everything you have said. Mons. Horan created Knock Airport in order to bring pilgrims here… but instead it is an Airport for people from this area to visit Medjorge !!
This has annoyed me for years. I live in the locality, (but not a native), brought my children there weekly for yrs, …but no other children from the wider locality were brought there. At that time, I was ridiculed for my faith and for my weekly visits.
I really love Knock, …. It is the only place in the entire world where Jesus, the second person of the Blessed Trinity, God the Son, appeared as the
    Lamb of God…….
    the only place!
(And we race to touch a relic!!)
I, and my family have experienced wonderful gifts, both spiritual and physical there over the last 40 years.
But, like you, I have always felt that Irish people didn’t appreciate this wonderful, amazing gift of Jesus (as the Lamb of God,), …Himself, and his entire family coming to visit us, honouring us …. Such a privilege!!
As you said….. if you don’t use it…. You lose it.
My husband and I attend Holy Mass and Eucharist Adoration almost every day and are so privileged to be able to do so. We had to leave the country for over a week….. returned Tuesday night, but only felt I had truly returned home after attending Mass in Knock yesterday, Wednesday. Knock is my spiritual home!
Mass today @3pm, had the smallest, worst attendance that I have seen for years!,
We have been praying for Knock Shrine for years… that God’s wonderful plan for it will happen.
I, 100% agree with you re “climate/ green/ecology/ earth worship walk….. absolutely appalling ….. an insult to our Creator!
We need to only adore and worship God… not His creations!

Knock is more like a large village than a town....as a shrine it began to lose visitors when airtravel became accessible to all.. the glamour + cultural attractions/climate of Lourdes, Fatima, Medjugorge ,Rome drew pilgrims away.....inteterestingly Garabandal is much smaller than Knock and has v little accomodation and no after prayer/ evening attractions yet is never off the lips of Catholic bloggers/websites....... i never hear of any miraculous reports from Knock and unless such are collated ,reported and broadcast Knock will continue to decline......a mass conversion of hundreds of Muslim immigrants could do wonders but more likely we'll be being told planning permission for a Mosque is pending.....Islam has the inherent obligation within its adherents to bring about a world wide caliphate....and here we are inviting it with open arms as the vacuum left by lapsed Catholics Christians has a very willing spiritual force which surely believe just how easy the conquista is proving to be ..... Ireland turned its back on God since it became affluent and delusionally self important....God is allowing Ireland and the West in general to have what it wants, freedom from Christian principles ...and the west is apparently blindly actively bringing about the implementation of Islamic society where Christianty established the wealth of culture, education, stability and the Word of Jesus Christ ..... We reap what we sow.....May God Forgive Us.....

Refreshingly informative, forthright and insightful blog; I recently submitted an offer to purchase a derelict property close to Knock Shrine, unaware of of the 'asylum' centre proposals. I viewed Knock as a quiet, safe, crime-free rural location and had planned to retire there after renovations to the property.
Now I am seriously considering whether or not to revoke my offer before the vendor jumps at the opportunity to get their hands on my hard-earned life savings.
I feel as though a 'Guardian Angel' has guided me to your channel today since I wasn't surfing for any information regarding anything to do with Knock.🤔🤝

Robert, you made a good point about the people of Ireland in this video saying that they voted to repeal the eighth amendment and allow for a liberalised law for abortion, they voted for candidates who would support almost unlimited immigration into our country every year, and they voted for same sex marriage, you are right in saying that many thousands of people would go to places like 'Lourdes' and 'Medjugorje'every year, the probability for that could be that these people including me do not realise that we have a beautiful Eucharistic shrine where the Holy loving Mother Mary appeared with Saint Joseph and Saint John the evangelist and Jesus appears in the form of a Lamb. The town councillors and politicians in County Mayo need to get some business into and promote Knock in a more public way.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Noel Smyth.

God in His humility uses us poor instruments to help Him redeem souls, turning them back from the hell of self hatred, to the heaven of loving communion. That's what Mary, Joseph and John along with all the angels are co-redeemers assisting the Lamb of God in His work of salvation and redemption which was, is and will be an eternal act. This is Knock's message and needs to be the key to it's existence and promotion. A hostel in Knock with teaching rooms for youth groups, young families etc to relearn how to be the domestic church of loving relationship might be an idea that the hierarchy could run with. There are so many dysfunctional families that need help, as you point out the loneliest place in Europe.
