I often wondered what was the point of the apparition. Thank you Fr for this insight.
Fr. Brendan is right. Knock is straight out of the Bible. Revelation 4, 5 and 12, and Isaiah 6. The visionaries saw Heaven, as Isaiah did, including the Seraphim, and the worthiness and worship of the Lamb as seen in revelation 5. It is the greatest of all global revelations to man and it is unique in giving us this vision of Heaven. It is silent adoration personified, and the summit of our Catholic faith in the sacrifice of the Mass. Next time you go to Knock, take along your Bible and read the passages I mention. It will change your perspective on Knock totally. I also believe it is a calling back to silent adoration, and the sacrifice of the Mass. Knock is not a Marian shrine. Our Lady appearing is only part of a much bigger picture of the revelation at Knock. This shrine is totally underrated in the Catholic Church, and when She finally accepts what happened at Knock, its status internationally in the Church will change. Where else in the World has man seen a vision of Heaven, with our Lady, Joseph, and St. John guiding us to its Biblical understanding. Knock is truly miraculous.

Fr Brendan, I wonder is the testimony of Bridget Trench (the Irish speaker) available anywhere? Not the testimony translated into English, but her original one in Irish. It would be lovely to read the testimony as Gaeilge.
