    In this video, we will look at what Miyamoto Musashi had to say about achieving more with less effort, on how we constantly make things much more complicated for ourselves and do a bunch of useless stuff and drain our "energy tank". We will look at his quotes and ideas from his books Dokkodo/The Book of Five Rings.

    I love the theory sometimes I over analyze and over fixate and by the time I do the task I’m already overwhelmed and have to calm myself through the task. I feel taking life with ease helps us complete tasks with a clear mind although being too careless can be a problem it’s the middle ground that promotes growth

    I really liked these modern applications. I think saying “more with less effort” gives a false impression of the idea though. It’s using less energy but definitely more effort and intention. I think when people hear “get more done with less effort” they think it means easier. Effort has to be high, but energy does not.

    • @andybsg2802
      @andybsg2802 Před 2 dny +1

      I disagree, the less effort the better. The path of least resistance will alway be less effort. Effort is meaningless in the real world. Results, performance and efficiency are what matters. 2 software engineers can put in 1 hour of “effort” if one is more efficient they will produce more.

    • @Pongwise
      @Pongwise Před 2 dny +2

      @@andybsg2802 okay sure I understand what you’re trying to say. I’m talking about effort as in “focused intention”. If 2 people wake up and 1 person scrolls social media right away and the other goes for a walk outside in the sun (like mentioned in the video), who used more effort but also conserved more energy? Also, if your mindset is to go the path of least resistance, life will be harder, sometimes in a very subtle way, depending on your awareness.

    A few times in my life I've achieved this state of perfect avoidance of lost energy. And I'm not talking about hardcore, cold pursuit of goals here, I'm talking about doing more of what matters, goals, relationships, experiences, life. Each time I was basically scalded for my "careless" and "boring" attitude by this or that person, people very close to me whom I hold dear. I would have a close call getting ran over or some drama happened and the second the situation was over it didn't bother me whatsoever. And so I too started indulging in the muck after being afraid of trying to seem better than them, high horse stuff. Well, that shit ends now. This time I'm better equipped to deal with the questions.

  • @MariosAntonios
    @MariosAntonios Před 2 dny +1

    I understand the energy tank idea, there's a reason we make our best decisions early in the morning after some cold water or maybe coffee and we do get sidetracked cause we're programmed to do so, but we've always been a consumer's and salesmen society and now with the stream of information it's even more abysmal, our own inventions and means of comfort troubles rather than serving us, after that cold water and coffee most people are wired and ready to work/study but you might take an alt route to get where you want faster but instead get stuck in traffic and lose every ounce of peace and patience.
    I guess livin in the present and emptying your mind and taking a distance and detaching ourselves from hurtful parts that do not benefit us paradoxically works given the previous statement.
    Now I have one question I would really appreciate if you could answer and btw I'm not a very good listener or properly educated but what do you think is the reason -as-I-have-noticed- that when the day ends and we're ready to rest if not most of us some of us leave a huge sigh like we just stopped running in a race with obstacles, instead of breathing out in relief that we were alive for another day no matter how hard it was?
    What I'm asking basicaly is why do the facts of the soon-to-be past do not satisfy us compared to the problems of now and of a self-prophecy of a horrible future given how in the end we do find a way most of the time.
    We are willing to accept the statistics of impending doom but not past survival/success, is it the overload of data, negative vibes, not being in tune? what do you think is the reason for that? sorry for the tldr I will space it out.

    Musashi was noy lazy. From the Book of Five Rings, Its all about training every single moment of your life. "Make your everyday stance your fighting stance." He conserves his energy for TRAINING. Everything else does not matter to him. He is all about overcoming the other guy. So he trains, day in, day out. Hahaha

    • @ouijasleeper609
      @ouijasleeper609 Před dnem

      Perhaps lazy is a strong word that gives you a negative connotation. Think of it more as efficiency. The “grind” mentality is very common these days but doesn’t equate to true progress. Same idea though. More isn’t necessarily better.
