The T22 has a storied and solid combat history but her in game performance hinges upon the use of torpedoes effectively. The 105mm gun mounts are horribly ineffective at this tier, and really only have the ability to traverse 360º as their claim to fame. While the ship's guns are horrible, the torpedoes are not. Being quick and hard hitting, if you can aim with them, you can be quite effective with them, but that hit or miss nature makes for a very frustrating ship to play.
The torps are good and it's the tier where people like sailing in straight lines. However it's pea shooters are just under-gunned for the tier. And even tho other destroyers make the 4" guns work, they do so with superior velocity/penetrating power.
I'll give this DD an edge over Mutsuki in a gunfight..that's about it :(.

I play Mutsuki now ... and look at the T-22 and go, "Wow! Look at those guns and AA!"

I hated this ship, but its also the only ship I earned a solo warrior on before moving onto the Gaede.
An odd DD for sure. I got my first 100k+ damage (and many more) game in the T22, shot many an American and Russian DD to death, and generally kicked arse. Best DD games I ever had were generally in the T22. That said, it is also the most exhausting boat to do well in for me. IJN and USN DD are just so much more relaxing to play.
Call me crazy but I really have very good matches with the T22, damage and wt, even against T6, yeah T7 are hard, but really have very good concealment.
Shaka kuchiki I won't call you crazy, but I had some good games with the T22. Nothing particularly epic, but good for me. And I try to use every weapon (tool) that a ship gives me. Unless it's something like Russian torpedoes and even then, I try to be alert to possibilities.
Yeah is a good shipt, not super good but it is a good ship, the buff of the concealment really helped her.

Thanks to the new year campaign, i found my self jumped up at tier 6 destroyer which i enjoy a lot. I will still try the t 22 for curiosity sake.
Damn that thing used to have good concealment. Now its utter garbage with 6.5. actually unplayable

Uh, dude? It IS a torpedoboat. Only use it as a spotter for your team and back them up in battle. Support your teammates.
Do you know how you come off when you tell us how mad a ship is, then have an 85k game?

I HATE the T-22. Slow, weak guns, and mediocre torps. It is at my bottom T5 DDs, even the Jaguar, Podvoisky, and Acasta ranked higher.
Gaede is pronounced Geeder.
