Live on Lake Murray SC. Productive with baits on Carolina rig or shaky head but can't catch a cold on spinner / crank baits. Have tried swim baits(flukes) with little success. Your video suggests I'm rigged correctly but I'm retrieving it incorrectly... pull motion. Thanks for the video and best wishes for your continued success on the tour. I live on a River that the Blue Back Herring migrate up to spawn followed by striped Bass, anyways there’s a moratorium on the herring but striped bass along with everything else eats them . With that being said I never understood why the last val tactic is to bounce a paddle tail off the bottom of the River , Herring don’t move like that
Mike, I will certainly try dragging a Walking bait versus walking it. I think an osp bent minnow would be killer. Do prop baits like the devil's horse work well on Herring Fisheries? I figured they might because they're long and skinny.
I liked Ike's advice on retrieves.

I plan on fishing this weekend no matter what the weather. I don't own a boat but the banks are free and I will pick these up on my way to the water.
I have a boat and a canoe but still fish a few spots from shore and I do very well and you don't spook the fish.
