Wow ...I have forgotten all about the Mojo rig. I got to put it back in my arsenal. Congratulations on your Hall of Fame nomination and keep these great videos coming
Ike, I’ve got a rig for you that doesn’t get a lot of video play by most of the fishing channels….a swing head jig. There so many advantages to the swing head jig over a traditional lead head jig…
That's kinda weird cause I learned of swing heads by watching NJ g you tube videos. I can't remember which channel it was though. Lol. Fishing is about all that comes up on my CZcams lol. I don't listen to or watch music videos don't care much for TV or movies anymore so I have almost every pros channel and some non pro channels. I'm all about learning and improving at this stage of life and fishing. Good luck tight lines.
Hello Mike how are you it's Bill old school LOL Mike Awesome video yes I forgotten so many times to use that rake and tournaments also and it is a good rake and I'm going to start using it for sure Mike excellent presentation and absolutely awesome also congratulate you on your entry to the bass fishing Hall of Fame that's what I'm talkin about y'all again congratulations Mike well done talk to you soon Mike God bless you and your family
Hey Ike, I still fish the Mojo Rig. Yes I'm an ole guy lol. I was disappointed to find the Lugworm is discontinued. Can not find it anywhere. Most places were out of stock. Still a great rig!!
Ive always used a split shot thats about an eighth of an oz pinched on my line about 8 inches above my hook throwing a fluke... this has been a rig that I've thrown on Toledo Bend for 20 years during the spring and I've caught tons of fish on it including some of my best fish. Its amazing to me so many people havent heard of this rig or hates it... the same goes for a Carolina rig but it seems like if you fish on lakes in south Texas or Louisiana, you'll probably see both on every anglers deck this time of the year. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
I'm a bank fisherman and what I do is start off with a 10 in leader and swivel ,I then install bobber stop, bead and sinker .slide bobber stop close to swivel when fishing cover and slide stop up line if I want to extend leader length
I remember that "drop shot" originally referred to split shot/mojo rigs, in the mid 1990's, S. California. It was before the technique we all call "drop shot" today became popular after it was used by a Japanese angler to win a B.A.S.S tournament. The original cylinder weights sold in the mid 90's were made by the "MOJO" tackle company. They were originally used as inline spinner bait bodies before being sold as weights. If you pour your own lead fishing tackle, the mold is called an in-line spinner bait body mold.
Same as this but Carolina is heavier weight and heavier gear rods reel like hook etc. This is basically a mini Carolina and I wouldn't call it a split shot rig that's Mike's bad. Cause a split shot rig has a split shot weight that doesn't move at all.
Congratulations on make it to the bass hall of fame mike
Congratulations Mike on getting into the Hall of Fame.

are you AI? you sound so disconnected from reality.
@@erniebrightfishing they all cover the swing head eventually. .
FYI a jig is not a "Rig"
@@secretbassrigs You’re absolutely right…I had a brain fart when I wrote my reply…💭🤭

I have to try this setup I love learning new things about bass fishing and learning new rigs also
I still have MOJO weight Kit.Have caught many bass using that rig.great info video Ike
Excellent
That split shot rig works here in Louisiana , I use it a lot in the marsh , in shallow water ponds , cuts
I'm a bank fisherman and what I do is start off with a 10 in leader and swivel ,I then install bobber stop, bead and sinker .slide bobber stop close to swivel when fishing cover and slide stop up line if I want to extend leader length
Thanks
I still throw the MOJO all the time with fluke, but with a slip weight and 2 bobber stops
That’s the way to go I do the same , you can adjust your leader length on the fly and don’t damage your line
Nice tips, guys. Thanks!
It works better when they're straight tails, smaller and rigged upside down/flat side down.
Never heard of this looks thanks for sharing 🎣 👍
Like your Kellogg chicken.
good info. thanks for sharing
I may give this a try. The Carolina rig always gets me in trouble with the larger weight.
Hey when we started split shot and hooks is all you had maybe three diff kinds

Thank you.. Great info.... Question, what about the wind?.. Have alot of places but wind is like 7 to 9 mph
Hack yea Ike !
What bait is the best for that rig? Love your vids. Keep'em coming. Ike clan 4life.
straight tail, small, short worms/flukes with flat side down.
Is it a good idea to use a small crawl as well?
I went to using "finesse" versions of the Carolina rig - essentially a micro Fish Finder. I didnt know it had a name. LOL
What’s up Ike ! You fishing the bass master kayak tourney on the susky this year ?
🤘🤓🏴☠️
Carolina Rig?

@@erniebrightfishing now I remember, the cylinder weights were originally called MOJO weights. The company that sold them was called Mojo.
