Got this on a spinning rod right now. Going to try it out tomorrow.
Great presentation ike, I've got Gilly's in all sizes,in both the natural gill and the black/blue colors. I've rigged this thing in a million ways and they've all been productive. The blue/black color is killer in my muddy ponds,caught my personal best on the blue/black 110 gilly this year,I'm gonna stat using those rattles

Srry Mike, I’m hoping to prove you wrong this weekend. I’m throwing the Agent E for spawning fish. Using it in place of a finesse jig because everyone else I believe will be throwing one including the big dogs in the professional league that’s also going on at the lake of the Ozarks.

Love the vid :D and i been loving the gilly bait ... but i'm just thinking to myself and giggling of the thought, of how much little things and stuff put into the bait, then having a bad cast or something where the baits lost :D ... all that work :D but i'm deffinately gonne be using the noise technique tho for sure !! that's something i've known of but never bought or tried it for some reason. OMG That 3rd hack !! freaking genius dude !!! deff rigging a SHORT leader/weight with the packing peanuts !! ... Would love to see some water footage of the baits like that, but thats ok, cause i got a large tub to test stuff :D
Hey Ike! I fish almost exclusively farm ponds (NW Indiana) that typically have an abundance of moss, even early in the year. I haven't figured out the best way to fish a gilly in these conditions. Really enjoy your presentations!!

@@mikeiaconellifishing tried it this morning on my home lake, started dropshotting roboworms and caught 2 Bass under a pound. Switched to gilly and ended the day with 2 more that were 2lb+.

I caught I first bass yesterday on the gilli. The first cast I caught a nice bass, my very next cast I hit the female but I lost her she was big!

Dude! I love ya man! You have the same intensity and excitement when it comes to new gear that I have. AWESOME! People call me too intense but whatever. HAHA I love the new Berkley Gilly and wish we had a lot more places to purchase up here in the True North Ontario Canada eh?! lol Unfortunately, they are sold out at the places I have checked both for in store and online. Hopefully by end of this year I can load up on them for next season 2023! Great video as always Mike and I look forward to more great content.

I wish i could get my hands on some of them. I've only been able to find the 130 in green pumpkin. I've ordered a couple of the smaller sizes in hd colors but my orders got canceled due to no inventory. You should get on the horn with Berkey and tell them to shut down production on a couple of their other soft plastics for a little bit and start pumping these gilly baits out faster. These very easily could be their number one selling bait if they invested in bulking up inventory. Hell, I'd even buy some from you for double price if that was an option

Most packing peanuts nowadays are biodegradable as soon as water hits it so you may want to check them first!

Dang I knew some company would patent my idea!I used to take markers and paint them to look like bluegills.Then my fishing partner bought an airbrush system an we started using that.Great video Ike!Now my secret is out J/K lol!

Mike, you're a great guy, a great fisherman, a great educator. The only downside is that you're "almost" screaming in your videos lol but that's OK, you are enthusiastic :) And this video is great. I was watching it and thinking "fish goes for easy prey, so why not have the lure sideways or slightly slanted? Then you came up with that and the baitcaster! And the red mark on the nose is simply awesome. I'm going to try that this week. Keep up the good work, we love you :)

I can't get mine to swim straight up. I bought the small and medium size gillys. Used the hooks you said to use. Nail weight under the lip. Packing peanut in the top and it's top still swims at about the 3 o'clock position. I thought it was cool because you designed it so I got them. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've seen them swim correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
Make sure the hook point is coming out beneath the pectoral fin

Has anyone tried using foam earplugs instead of styrofoam peanuts?
Packing peanuts often dissolve in water, in (UK) and Europe we use them for that reason to mask hook points when casting.
I'm surprised you dont have that on a finesse tokyo rig
Make sure to use styrofoam peanuts and not the corn starch ones as the corn starch ones will disintegrate in water 😆

If these guys really want us to believe them, they need to review these baits a year later. Like every pro says "This bait is the next biggest bait!" But a year later they dont even use that lure. Anyone can open a box from berkley with a nice shiny check inside.
Wish they were made with better plastic.. can’t seem to rig them up without tearing the shit out of them 🤷🏻♂️
So a bait that was just released has a proven system for spawning bass during the first pre-spawn/spawn it’s been on the market? Sounds legit
Uhh... Mike... those Packing Peanuts you've got are NOT made of Styrofoam... I guarantee you that I can tell by the shape... that those are made of Corn Starch and will INSTANTLY MELT as soon as they hit the water creating a slimy slurry that will make a huge mess of that Gilly. 😢😮

But Im sticking with my tried and true method for catching " spawners "
In fact, I cant really take credit. Its been a top technique for years.
If you REALLY want to catch a spawner....Just pay for her drinks and tell her youll respect her tomorrow.
