    I used to not like Bruce Prichard at any level. I thought he was a nobody who was just cocky and arrogant who didn't know too much. Plus I thought as I listened to various podcasts that he was on and he's grown on me so much.
    My apologies if Bruce reads this. I enjoy your wisdom and experience and you like know so much behind the scenes. I really look forward to more of your conversations and podcasts.

    I remember the indy hype after his Samoa Joe matches around 2004. At the time my GF and I were going to PWG cards and after hearing Punk was signed by WWE, I saw he was on the upcoming PWG show, probably finishing up his indy commitments before going to WWE, and I told my GF: "Hey! This guys is supposed to be amazing!" He did the match right before intermission....it was boring..it was lame...My GF was like "What? THIS is the guy all that hype was about?" Sp he finishes his match, intermission starts and he goes right to his gimmick table. I walk up and say: "Congratulations on the WWE deal"....He was cordial...but my take away from that first match and meeting was.......This guy is all hype.

    Punk forgot he was a fan, if he wasn't...why would he have signed with the WWE...if he did it simply for the money, well that does not say much for him or his passion. If he loved it and was passionate about it he would have taken what he had to at first...he pushed HIMSELF out of the WWE because he thought he was so good.

    • @rleonardgreen78
      @rleonardgreen78 Před 6 lety +4

      He left WWE, because they killed his passion for the sport. He was a Top Guy who actually drew for WWE, and they treated him like qa 2nd class citizen.

      @Last Drop Falls Punk was a draw, he put Butts in seats and. Brought viewers to the product.he deserved his championship run, he was a great talent. Putting part timers over him and not allowing him to Main Event ppvs was some bullshit. I get why you people don't like him quitting, but I also get him not feeling valued.

      He signed with WWE because that was the next step for him. He had nothing more to accomplish on the independent circuit I hate CM Punk but your argument againsthis passion is beyond stupid.

    • @Matt-cr4vv
      @Matt-cr4vv Před rokem

      The idea of leaving ROH or the Indies at this point in time being a knock against passion is pretty silly. The indies ar this time werebt what they are now where people can make a solid living on that circuit. So the idea of sticking in that at this time over going to a WWE is realistically expecting a guy to starve or struggle financially all for passion over ascending to the top level and making a healthy living. It isn’t even remotely a realistic thing to expect from a person. Maybe nowadays where you can make a solid living outside of WWE but at this stage of time wwe was the only place to really make any kind of substantial income in wrestling.

    I never cared for punk or Ring of Honor! To me it was for the hard core fan who didn’t care about build up or spectacle only two guys wrestling each other and not much more! I gotta give WWE that they put on a show it’s a big spectacle when they come to town in the bigger events anyways. And I know little company’s like this need to exist so people can learn and get over with fans but they will never draw mainstream money or fame like WWE or WCW in it’s day! I even placed TNA and ECW over Ring of honor. They just had a generic indie look to them I never liked. Even Smokey mountain tried to make it a big deal!

    • @kendallfleming5858
      @kendallfleming5858 Před 6 lety +5

      Thats why CM Punk got over, for the exact reasons you dont care for why he is over. Vince stapled this image in your head that you have to be a muscled up larger than life person to get over. Prior, it was all about technique. And Vince created that image that you need to look muscular. It worked for years, but just like time, people change. They have different interest. If you can go, you can go. People are tired of paying money to see a 5 move big guy and go home annoyed. Face it, that day is over! Reigns vs Samoa Joe proved that for instance, people left the PPV. Reigns isn't over due to no fault of his own. He was a big good looking guy shoved down people throats and the fans regurgitated. Side note: Most of the big muscular guys looked to be in their 50's when they were in their 40's. The ones in their 50's look 70. The ones that weren't jacked on steroids and average build look their appropriate age. Edge for example is in his 40's and looks early 30's.
