Got screened at age 50. Two high grade dysplasia precancerous polyps found and removed. One of the smartest moves I ever made.

I'm a mixed bag, Rectal Cancer with pretty aggressive features but caught at a t1.. Only 36. Screening guidelines are what caused me to become a cancer patient rather than getting this caught while it was still a polyp. Too many people

My father in law is 92 and has colorectional cancer. He decided to have no treatment at all. We're now 15 months later and he's still alive. How long can someone survive without any treatment?

My mother had a tiny cancerous polyp removed in 2011 and I mean the polyp contained a tiny cell. Fast forward in 2015 she was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. She had all the regular colonoscopes and CT scans and these failed to stop it spreading silently. I'm fed up of hearing that colonoscopies and removal of polyps stops cancer - IT DOESN'T.

Geeze really ? Doctors couldn’t even see it with test? Like how? Even with the colonoscopy?

Maybe you can tell me or others if there were any warning signs that people should know? I have a friend who is suffering from the same cancer. I would like to advice his doctor. Why did the doctor miss it?

Bob Marley had very small cancer on his toe and it spread all through his body. But this doesn't happen to everyone. As most rectal cancer don't spread so best get them found and removed

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2001, and was a lucky man as it was caught very early....no chemo or radiation required, I was 39. There were no risk factors (no family history, etc) Just had a colonoscopy today and they found and removed several polyps. One they described as a "large polyp" that is suspicious. My colonoscopy was 5 years ago, so hopefully it's nothing. I just hope that the message goes out that all should be screened at 50: even earlier if there is a history or symptoms........

Like you Russell I was just diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer on Feb 7 of this year.
After my colonoscopy I was told they found a mass and it was likely malignant. Scheduled CT scans, MRI and an appt with surgeon. My surgeon said I needed chemo/radiation prior to surgery in hopes to shrink tumor first. So that the surgery can be more successful. This has been a nightmare to say the least.
This next week marks the end of 6 weeks chemo /radiation and overall I’ve handled those ok all things considered. Surgeon says he prefers to wait 4-6 weeks AFTER this treatment to do surgery.
To give things time to heal from radiation. After surgery I then have to do another round of chemo. I had exact same symptoms as you. Good luck on your journey and prayers for healing 🙏🏻😊
