Giving Tien a whole saga would be the greatest thing ever. All of the paths you mentioned would make for an extremely engaging story. Sadly, I don’t think they care enough about his character to so this.
His power creep would be justified too, because he has the lineage and we’d truly see that he earned his newfound power.

Krillin is far better fighter and much stronger than town in dragon ball super and that’s the most recent to he’s not the strongest human anymore maybe during dragon ball z the early time

Very entertaining stuff man. And of course I agree totally. Tien makes too much sense as an arcane warrior using spiritual/metaphysical powers to overcome opponents that are much stronger physically. Unlocking his divine nature by having his spirit uncorrupted by Kais, Whis, or the likes of Pybara would be a no brainer if Dragonball was a good storytelling manga. All the non Vegeta/Goku Z fighters should receive Yardrat training anyway...because why not? Heck, with what's going on in the Super manga currently you could even have Tien visit Zuno and just find out exactly what he needs to do to fulfill his true potential. To add some comic relief to such a scenario, Chaotzu, Puar, and Oolong could help out by using their various powers to wheedle the information out of Zuno. I imagine an unlocked enlightened Tien would have a vastly increased life force, and given his innovative genius (that he once displayed and could again) he could invent an entire class of super powerful techniques all based around the same life force sacrificing principle as the kikoho. I'm talking massively strong barrier shields, enhanced multi form with more copies and no division of power between them, enhanced solar flare that even blinds an enemy that is shielding his eyes, long distance healing/draining/strengthening beams, space/time influencing powers. Think about all the weird powers of characters like Guldo, Babidi/Bibidi, Moro, Hit, even Chaotzu and Fortuneteller Baba. Enlightened Tien should be able to do most of if not all of these things, and more. Sorry for rambling, but I can go all day on this topic.

OH, and what about the Mufaba/evil containment wave? Sheesh. Imagine Tien combining his multi form with the ECW
to avoid the user risk of the technique. That's something that might be possible even with his current capabilities. And THAT relates to the niche I would be happy to see Tien have in the series. The dangerous nuisance archetype. Such characters typically don't get the glory, and enemies don't necessarily fear them, but they definitely want a dangerous nuisance safely dead and out of the way while they battle the hero protagonist. And the dangerous nuisance is crafty and talented enough avoid that. I was very annoyed that the DBS writers gave this role to Android 17 in the ToP. Why they chose to elevate THAT guy over established characters is beyond me man.
I think it'd be a breath of fresh air to see more utility based powers like this. Playing a support role in battles would not only make Tien useful, but integral to the team effort. Instead of Goku Super Saiyan - God mode - Kaioken times XXXXIV - Ultra Instinct Godzilla doing everything, we'd see the Z team using teamwork and strategy. In addition to fighting, Tien could have magical powers ranging from mater manipulation to healing or even a shared form of enhanced perception - much like battle meditation in Star Wars. The human spirit seems to have an unusual versatility that others lack. Saiyans have raw power, but some of the greatest techniques all came from humans. I've always wanted to see more creative solutions to battles in DBZ that go along with the hard training. Indeed, Tien would be a great choice for this, and so would Piccolo.
Given his ability to bond with other Namekians, imagine what strange and unusual powers Piccolo could unlock were he to fuse with long lost ancient Namekians. Travelers much like himself who went to other corners of the universe. Perhaps unlocking cosmic secrets was the entire purpose of their departure from Namek in the first place - that Piccolo is but one part of a greater being similar to Slug or Guru.
There are actually some hints about last sentence. Dende telling about Guru says that all namekians are his children, But when Guru sees what happened to Piccolo/Kami , he surprisingly tells " so the son of Katas has passed", not Gurus son. Also we knew that Kami ship escaped during the start of great drought...so it is very possible that Katas was a brother of Guru, that's why Piccolo got so much potential, and thats why Nameless namekian could potentially withstand Freeza.
Not gonna lie bro I came to check your channel after you replied to my comment about Tien with little expectation but you are pretty good. Keep up the work, I'll be here to watch you grow.
I like your analysis. Magic in DBZ is very rare, as it can easily be chalked up to just the use of Spiritual Ki or just basic ki manipulation, but that would be a very good way to make Tien even more different than how he is currently. Most of his techniques are pretty mysterious as it is, like how his Tri Beam literally eats at his own life force.

Exactly! Tiens versatility really opens the door for whats possible to him and in studying him, I gained a new appreciation and perspective for his backstory and hidden potential
How Kikoho eats his own life? That not so hard to explain. Ki blasts are using Ki energy as you guess. And Ki comprises of 3 components body, vigor and mind. So master Shen taught Tien how to add extra energy to your blast and make it strong as hell for a cost of your life.

Love to see a Tien spin off, where he gains incredible power, splits into 4 separate Tien's, 2 train in time chamber while other 2 wait, then the other 2 train while the other wait, the bond of the different times give him crazy power, also i like your idea of him being trained by gods.
He's such a wasted character, what they've done to him is a joke. He got beat by ROSHI!! How stupid is that?? Roshi has been redundant since DB, Tien would be above him as much as Goku is above Tien. Hate how Kikoho is used all the time by Tien now, he has so many moves and this is like the only move the writers have him use. Disappointing.
Also even Kikoho he cant use properly. In DB Kikoho was feared, it would disintegrate Freeza soldiers like none there was, but hey its children show, so Kikoho is just fucking kinetic strike now.

Firstly, on top of being well spoken(a factor I greatly appreciate), you have a very serene & soothing voice. Both are great qualities for any public speaker.
Secondly, I completely agree that Tien(& anyone who isn't Goku or Vegeta) deserve more. I've always wondered if Tien was a human who obtained a third eye, or a natural-born triclops. But I never considered the hybrid idea, let alone any alien origins due to how diverse the species of Earth are. It's a VERY cool & interesting concept that I would love to see you delve into deeper... SO many possibilities there! I personally had gone in the direction of the third eye being a part of the Crane School training. Tien obtaining the "physical" eye, which would work much like the sharingarn. Giving him perfect perception, heightened analytical skills & the ability to strike with surgeon-like precision. And given Chiatsu's "meta-physical" eye, which is more psychic based, they were the perfect team. I could go on for days about the backstory I have in mind for these two, so I'll save that for when I start making my own content(currently in progress).

DBS must do something with the humans. Tien can have a powerboost and introduce as to a new alien race that Tien comes from. Krillin and Yamcha can get some hidden earthling transformation similar to super saiyan that no one knew about cause no human reached such levels. Maybe Uub will be the first to reach this earthling transformation. Then is Master Roshi, They can give him a power boost from the thing that he drunk and became immortal from old age, they can rebrand that story and say something like the older he gets, the more potential he will have. Also they can unlock earthling powers by having the grand priest unlock their potential
Very cool ideas! It would be incredible if they could do something like that to honor the rest of the Z-warriors!

Some additions
Shape shifting has been available since pretty much day one, and while the Dragon Ball version doesn't increase the user's stats (though that doesn't matter at the current scale anyway) it does open up avenues by which to outwit and outmaneuver their opponents, as well as being a neat throwback to the Journey to the West.
Magical weapons and armour would also be useful, just look at what Yajirobe and Trunks could do with apparently mundane weapons and how much use Goku got out of the Power Pole.

It would be nice if Dragonball would lay off the Saiyans and develop other characters. The franchise has been growing stagnant since Seni-perfect Cell.
Tien Shinhan. My favorite Z Fighter. He was truly done dirty. He never even fully unlocked his third eye. He could be so much more powerful than we've seen. Sadly, we'll never see it.

This was a fantastic video. Might I suggest doing one for both 18 and Videl? Other than that, you hit all the right notes on Tien. I mean it was implied that he's trained all his life with a primary goal to defeat Goku. So he should be just as powerful as a Super saiyan grade 2 IMO. But nowadays, no other race of warriors are going to get any recognition or power boosts unless they're a saiyan or their name is either Goku or Vegeta.

Gohan's power is not even organic he had it just pulled out of him not once but twice. Tien held back semi perfect Cell and then never stopped training,it doesn't make sense that Roshi would be stronger than him in DBS.
I agree. DBS's power scaling is really all over the place. It will be interesting to see where they go with things after the Tournament Of Power. I too found it very odd that Tien has regressed so much that he is actually weaker than Roshi (now officially). I guess they would chalk it up to age but even then...Roshi is alot older than Tien

I think his or the writers mistake was not upgrading his training style or seeking out new teachers. Excellent video this info needs to get to the writers.
100% I couldn't agree more. Tien doesn't seem to lack the dedication. In fact, people could even argue that his dedication is near the same level as Goku/Vegeta's when it comes to training. He just needed to study under better Masters like Goku did. Then again, maybe this was a deliberate decision to ensure that Tien doesn't rival Goku, the main character too much. But years after Goku has basically become a god (DB Super) it really sticks out like a sore thumb that guys like Tien have stayed at the same power level for so long. Btw I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and support and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 👍

I always thought that if anyone on the team decided to use magic for combat it would be Piccolo, but this idea is actually awesome and it really would be a great way to push Tien back into the heavy hitter levels. I always felt when people call Krillin the most powerful human I keep looking at Tien and thinking shouldn't he be the strongest? Awesome video 😎

@@equanimity92 Hey thanks for that! 😎 I get frustrated with the show sometimes because of how the main cast are almost all relegated to commentary and Goku has to be the only person to save the day. What's the purpose of making a team of fighters if none of them can, well, fight 😅 I do want them to give more shine to the rest of the team, they don't have to close the power gap, but they could have Goku and Vegeta off somewhere else maybe another universe and the team faces new threats they can overcome. Making every villain scale to their (Goku and Vegeta) power levels just leaves the others twiddling their thumbs and spectating 😑

Tien with magic is definitely the way to go. Imagine him having Janemba's space distortion techniques? No one will be able to properly land a hit- instead, they will just hit themselves lol. Lastly, that 3rd eye needs to become OP. It needs to cast a genjutsu to confuse it's enemies.

Great video, Although now I'm sad to learn Tien-Mystic was not a spoiler, or cannon.
Also, just a thought, but Tien multi-form was unique in the way that it splits his power, contrary to Piccolo's cloning or Cells kids. Going with what the anime says about fusion multiplying instead of adding, couldn't he do the fusion dance with his clones to power boost himself for 30 minutes? That could be cool.
Also, I saw some comments saying his training alone with Chiaotzu was casual. That can't be true based on how his whole dojo came together because they thought his training was a spectacle. It's gonna be cool to see if he can ramp up his training with a whole new crew of fighters, and he should be a pretty good teacher being he's the only one to have experienced the only two martial arts masters in the world; Master Roshi and Master Shen).
And just one last thought, if he does visit Baba or dies again, it would be sick if he could train against all the opponents they've defeated in hell, being as he would know about them while having the least beef, including cell who was more pompous than spiteful. Even Pikkon would be a cool sparing partner. Anyways, great video, and I'm for sure sticking around for more. Tien #1!
First and foremost, I really Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and show your support for my Small channel! It means everything to me and its why I do what I do.
Secondly, You have some excellent insight and points! Regarding Tiens' Training, I think most people who have commented criticize his decision to mainly limit himself to sparring with Chiaotzu. And this is understandable, as it seems Tien could have made much greater strides had he chosen to study with more powerful/mystical masters instead. Your last idea seems very exciting! I definitely feel there could be something to that. It really wouldnt hurt anyone to allow Tien to get some sort of power upgrade at this point. As in my opinion, its long overdue. He strangely very well may be one of the only legacy characters not to receive any sort of powerup at all. Infact this was one of the main reasons I thought I really had to make this video just to discuss some of the immense untapped potential Tien has.

last line is beautiful. Nice theories you have here, but ...That is not even needed if Tien followed Gokus path, racing him as Tien oathed in original DB. Go to Kami, Kais, Gravity chamber, Time Chamber, whatever... There Tien could progress greatly and be like on par with Piccolo. But in contradiction to his character of master of martial arts, Tien ignores those possibilities and just stays with Chaotzu like 90% of time...Why? I dont know honestly. I love Tien , but this seems just stupid . If he cares so much about Chaotzu then just leave him in safety, with Launch or other Goku friends for example, why not? Is it because Chaotzu is forever child because he is a ghost? Or they suffered so great trauma, so they cant really join Goku friends team? I guess the only explanation is that Toriyama ignored him for economy of time.

Firstly, I really want to say thank you for taking the time to support my small channel and video and sharing your thoughts! Secondly, you make some very good points. Its really a shame the way they handled Tien's Character development. I wish I could really give solid concrete answers to your questions - But the truth is its anyones guess as to why things got handled the way they did with Tien. Personally, I find myself preferring most of the non-saiyan characters in DBZ. They just seem alot more relatable and interesting and I really wish we could have gotten some kind of a spinoff series set in the DBZ timeline to give some of these legacy characters the shine they deserve.
What baffles me is why wouldn't King Kai teach his techniques to the humans, Tein i can kinda get as he is all about getting stronger on his own but why couldn't the rest of them learn the Kioken.
It would of made them more useful and we know that they were able to handle it as they were far stronger then Goku when he first when to King Kai
Couldn't agree more. Especially concerning the KaioKen. Its not like its a completely broken buff. Infact, its probably one of the most balanced as the user can only maintain it for very short bursts at a time. And when we see other characters getting buffs in the shape of transformations that far outclass it later on. It kinda just comes off as the writers/Goku/King Kai being a bit of a jerk for not teaching it to the others tbh. >:( dont get me started on instant transmission too

Incredible hidden potential? You mean like grinding 24/7 only to be outpaced by Krillin, who became the most powerful human because *checks notes* he’s Goku’s best friend and got a modest power boost on Namek 20 years ago? Right.
Haha you got me with the "Checks notes" 😆seriously though... In my mind I respect both Krillin and Tien. The fact that Tien could hold off 2nd Form cell for as long as he did should prove that he was able to close the gap between him and Krillin, if not surpass it. So yes, I would tend to agree that he should at least be on par with Krillin in the current timeline if not be stronger as, he seems to have kept up with his training alot more than Krillin did. Either way you slice things...It makes absolutely Zero sense that Master Roshi can still outclass Tien all these years later in Dragon Ball Super. (despite never learning how to fly, which is a massive game changer in pitched battle) Let alone be able to keep up with so many fighters in the Tournament Of Power.
Man... Are the people at TOEI or Toriyama not reading what people want? Every dragonball thing I see, theres always a chunk of people wanting Humans (Especially Tien) to come back as a fighter.

I can see what you are going for. 😆👍Wendy has quite a few potent abilities. They also vary from support roles to devastating offensive ones if I'm not mistaken. Now take that idea and add in Tien's vast fighting/martial arts abilities he has been training for years and he would definitely be a force to be reckoned with! 😎
I respect Tien and believe he deserves better. But all that "trained whole life" thing is overestimated. What training regimen Tien actually have? He closed gaps between him and Goku 2-3 times training with Korin, Kami and king Kai. And then Tien got revived and there some peace time until Trunks arrives...what other guys do? Vegeta trains with 300 G, goes to Mountains and almost dies...Goku trains with Piccolo and Gohan. And what Tien does? He just trains casually with Chaotzu with a partner who is actually weaker than Tien, like significantly weaker, without any teachers or special conditions. WTF man? You didn't heard that you all gonna die in 3 years? You don't want to be any stronger than now? 10year old here is stronger than you. That is where Tienshihans dawnfall starts, that's why 17 easily chokes his neck... well just ignore that, androids defeated everyone aside Goku. Than Team wents to Outlook to wait and prepare to fight Cell, they use a time chamber to have a year of training in a day. A possibility for Tien to become relevant, no? Well when his order comes, Tien denies it. WTF? What is wrong? Did afterworld removed any steam from Tien? Goku died many times, but for Tien this is a deep trauma?
And after Cell games Tien just continued to train with Chaotzu, to just keep himself in shape, i guess. That s why he is useless in Buu Saga and further..
First, I really want to say thank you for your support and taking the time to share your thoughts! You aren't wrong, alot of Tien's choices post-cell saga and even leading up to the androids saga really seem off when you compare them with his core character.
@@equanimity92 Exactly. Tien in DBZ eventually just lost his determination and resolvness, that wakes up only in desperate moment (against Cell).

"Posing as con-men" That's not how that word works. That would mean they were pretending to be con-men. They were actual con-men at the time.
I apologize for any confusion. Since 'posing' is the present participle form of the root word 'pose', it can mean something is being "presented" contemporaneously in a particular manner. Which is to say, at this time in the story, Tien and Chiaotzu were being depicted as Conmen in the story.
By using 'posing' in this manner, I'm implying that this will not be the same state of affairs later, as from what we all know now, these 2 characters will grow and develop from this initial role into becoming more benevolent characters in the near future. Or to put it simply, my intention was to foreshadow what was to come.
