nope you only need 6 gen + just google the model number of the cpu and look for "Intel Quick Sync Video" and it should be able to play 4k, hdmi 2.1 cable (double check the hdmi 2.1 verson there all different now make sure it support 4k)
I got one of these and added an extra 8gb Ram but my dumb ass bought the silent low profile version of the gt1030 and it doesnt fit so ive got the side open and an extension cable with the gpu resting on a candle holder 😆

Ya that's what I thought. Lucky the NvME I had Win7 works completely fine on the dell

Yeah, Microsoft officially released a hotfix to do it, but have now withdrawn it. It can still be found on other websites though.
@@necktwister666 The OptiPlex 3050 exclusively uses PCIe for its M.2 slot, so NVMe. It doesn't support SATA.
