I met A -Rod when I was around 12 years old at an event. the guy was surrounded by adults, talking and enjoying himself. I remember I went up to him and asked to shake his hand, He shook my hand, asked me my name and said thank you for coming up to him and introducing myself.

phil licitra that’s completely wrong, steroids don’t improve you by that much. He was still a juggernaut of a player with or without them.

+Liam Markgraf Never could hit his home runs in clutch situations. His BA was .250... not to mention he's fifth in all-time strikeouts as a hitter. Sorry, but he ain't got a ring to show for 2015. all's I'm sayin

Good call yanks. I remember watching Mattingly, Winfield, guidry gossage Jim rice, Boggs, in there decline years it's a natural part of the game right of passage. It's a sad thing. It's an obvious thing. These guys couldn't go no more. And they didn't go out well. These were titans of the game, all of the sudden can't catch up to a 90 mph pitch. Or resting the bat on there shoulder, rushing swings, slow bat speeds. poeple tagging them when they are pitching. a once great pitcher throwing junk, to get to September. The Yankees didn't want that for A rod. it's embarrassing and just sad not right. watching or forcing a guy who can't go no more no matter what he says A rod is retrieing . cause he knows, it's time 700 or not. Was good call A rod, good call Yankees.

Because the Yankees even when they are bad like this year want to be the center of attention. They did the same thing with Teixera.
