Seeing A Rod so out and open about this tells me he really has changed as a person. people have their opinions about him but I think he's really come a long way from a kid in Seattle to a ⭐ in NYC.
Maybe so, but MLB wise, still A Roid.
Ehh prob not. Arod has said the same stuff as before and has aplenty of chances to not be so jerky. The guy just brings distractions ever since he landed in NY. Arod jsut never seems to accept responsibility for anything he really ever did-I do recall that he said he would never do drugs then he proceeded to do. Them again, and then threw a temper tantrum at MLB. He’s got a ego. But I do think arod is def not exactly a drama queen-we forget that he actually saved a kids life. How although if he wasn’t so cringy and tried focusing on being the best player ever (I do think he had potential to be the best) then no one would hate him.
Life is short. When ur friend is dead...,. all those arguments will seem pointless.
@@zacharypeery4082 said the professional nobody
@@Lewise512 why are you upset !? Lolz
man as a kid growing up in the 90s with these two it makes me really happy to see them at least genuinely comfortable around each other again...
Shows real maturity from Jeter to forgive ARod to an extent. He prob still doesn't like him that much but at least he's civil enough to go on national TV to catch up
What happened to cause the friendship to end? I’m not familiar with the situation.
@@BeingConsciousness-yw3zw there’s a good video on yt just look up Arod and jeter story

@@francisalbert1799 I don’t have a TV, neither do I have any desire to watch it. Which is why I asked for a simple explanation for what happened. And now two people have failed to answer my question.
@@BeingConsciousness-yw3zw AROD was a knucklehead that talked a lot of smack about Jeter back in the late 90s during interviews even though they were really good friends. Stuff like: opponents don't fear Jeter, they worry about the other bats on the team, or he's not a 250 million player, he's maybe 180, or 190 million player. Jeter got tired of it and froze AROD out.
These two guys are legends
Does that mean they will live forever? Legends live on and never die.

That’s so nicely done. Hope they get back to be good friends again.
Jeter is not that easy to get along with, from what ive read
I’ve heard the exact opposite lmao, he seems to be good friends with all of his other former teammates coaches and even Ex GFs
@@hmhm856 well that’s wrong. Jeter is a gentleman and A rod ruined their friendship. Jeter doesn’t like to be around drama so as soon as you get caught in something, he pushed you away.
why would Jeter ever b friends w/ a POS(**&&^ like Kay\Rod
You gotta watch the captain doc
this segment was so good, I didnt want it to end. A rod gets a lot of hate, and rightfully so, he cheated. But what he's done since has been great, he's owned it and asked for another chance, that's all you can do...
He got another chance and he blew that.
A large percentage of the players in the era he played in “cheated”. He still stood out.
And baseball idiots act like he was the only one that did
It’s easier now to love A-Rod. He’s such a great ambassador for baseball.
Haha good one
Arod brought exactly what George Steinbreiner loved the most = tabloids, attention. Im sure he loved every moment that Arod made the Yankees the headline.
Steinbrenner loved headlines about winning or moves related to winning. A-Rod was nothing but distractions, did it keep the Yankees relevant during the lean years… maybe.
@@marleychronic8530 yeah cuz he ain’t no jerry jones
I think the whole world wants Jeter and Arod back together.
Love to see then being adults and growing up and leaving the past in the past. 2 of the greatest players to ever grace the major leagues.
I caught this live last night and it was revealing and must see TV with Derek and A-Rod together again and getting things out in the open in regards to their relationship. Personally I detected that there was obviously still plenty of wariness from Derek, who handled things professionally.
Love these dudes!😃
Anyway to watch the full version of this?
Does anyone know where the full interview is?
Where can I watch the whole segment?!
Thongs change scent from one end to the other. Knowledge is power.
God bless
I gained a lot of respect for AROD last night, that was real, and the captain mentioned Gerard Williams who was one of the nicest athletes i ever met

I glad they work things out life too short
I'm glad to see he's matured this much.

This is so wholesome. 🥰
A Rod made a lot of mistakes. And he has owned them. Blames no one but himself. A story of redemption.
Thank you!! 🙌🏻
This was the only time I watched baseball, glad we got a World Series I’m from la too lol
🙏🏽
Alex Rodriguez was a far superior player but Jeter was much more clutch when the chips were down. The New York media liked Derek Jeter more than Alex Rodriguez. Jeter had an outstanding playing career, from beginning to end. Jeter has always been a class act. They were both very popular at the beginnings of their careers. Then for A-Rod came the steroid mess, and his image went down the drain. Both were gifted baseball players and I loved watching them both.
Facts of life -> people and things come and go!!
thats a very respetable thing to admit
If I was.arod I would just come clean and move on, Jeter doesn't seem thrilled about the friendship now and let's face it they are no longer teammates so they can move on and that's that.
Life’s short, don’t hold no grudges, enjoy life while we can. ok now back to schedule programming 😀.
Nothing about Arod feels genuine.
He is genuine. He’s himself, doesn’t put on a show and that’s why so many people don’t like him. Jeter seems fake, like he puts on a show and acts how he thinks we want him to act. We know how ARod is, don’t really know much about the REAL Jeter.
Wow ok 💯💯💯
A-Rod should have said that the fracture was his fault and said, “I’m sorry, it’s something a truly regret and wish I never would have done.” In comparison, he just kind of glossed over unless it was the editing of the inter that gave that impression.
clown
@baseballreg123 - you’re not aware of the Esquire interview A-Rod did so many years ago that led to Jeter exiling him from his circle?
@@roysreceptive Exactly
Maybe he said that to him in private? They were cool before this interview so I think they cleared the air before hand
I used to really hate A-Rod, but the way he has responded to things in recent years has really made me think the guy legitimately has matured.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
A Rod is a Baseball genius. He belongs in HOF. He was a 5 tool player, there are very few of those: Clemente, Mays, Ken Griffiey, Winfield, Dawson.... even Derek Jeter falls short.
Actually 6 tools, if syringes count.
Jeter was a great player as well
@@donnelladams8362Just not great at defense.
Barry bonds was a 5 tool player also and so was Mike Trout
Hank Aaron Mickey Mantle Joe DiMaggio and frank Robinson also
This is my opinion, but A-Rod seems like such a phony. Jeter seems like a stand up guy though.
yeah that is why every one has an opinion cause I heard of the complete opposite before too
ARod seems like he’s real…he doesn’t act or put on a show. That’s why so many people don’t like him. Jeter seems fake, like he acts how the world wants him to act. We don’t really know the real Derek Jeter. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was a covert narcissist. You know he hated sharing the spotlight with ARod. It was amazing that Jeter’s last year somehow coincided with ARod’s suspension 🤔. Hmm…ever wonder about that?
Respect
Egos destroy destiny

I remember watching this live and thinking like awkward lol
Jeter has moved on. He has a beautiful family now that he loves and concentrates on. He really couldn't careless whether he and A-rod are friends anymore. That was then and Now is now. No hard feelings and things will never be the same. period.
I can respect ARod for that for sure
That's cool Jeter forgave Alex for that...but he still stands that he clearly don't fw him no more
I loved both of these players and just wanted them to be boys and win championships.

They need to do what Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas and Shaq and Kobe did.

Arod was really the best shortstop on the Yankees that MVP year he had was a savage
I believe A-Rod is sincere.
Hindsight is always 20/20.
I believe your believe is incorrect.
Jeter has been humble and genuine his entire career. His reaction tells you all you need to know about Alex's latest performance for the cameras.
Don't we ALL love to judge others, even when we say we don't like to judge, we still judge. All those haters out there remember one thing; YOU are human and you, me, everyone, has DONE something in their life that you regret. Stop hating people you don't even know is not good for the soul. Be forgiving as you expect to be forgiven in your trespasses!
Glad to see Jeter and Alex bury the hatchet
Derek Jeter is a big dude.. I never realized that til now..
You don't realize that about baseball players. Most of those guys are 6'3" plus.
I was just watching a beef history about these two and they looked awkward together as recently as 2017, night and day from this clip
A rod has a lot of regrets because he’s never been pure to himself. He’s been lost in his own identity
He’s a man that’s becoming a better person daily

As a RedSox fan I approve this message . But I respect aroid after his retirement
Nah. Not craziness. /
athletes are forced to retire due to age, but there are other avenues available. this is an example of one of the reasons I tell everybody who loves charles barkley on inside the nba to give him a year or two to golf and fish. let him get it out of his system and he'll be right back on that show. retirement is overrated when you were in the proverbial catbird's seat
Angelica Guzman gurrea 🛃ur look bro we love you
A-rod is too much media trained for his own good
The money, ego, and greed for glory is what fractured that friendship. The owners and the media are the only ones who profit from it
No A Rod doing the interview in esquire fractured their friendship. Jeter is very private while Alex liked to make things public
Arod has always been jealous of Jeter. Jeter is beloved by NYC. Aroid will never know what that feels like.
Nah honestly it seems like Jeter is jealous of ARod and all the attention he got/gets. He was nervous when ARod came to NY, thinking he wanted to steal the spotlight from him. Jeter isn’t the golden boy he’s been portrayed to be.
@@someoneyoudontknow7705 I have to Respectfully disagree. Jeter had multiple championships, team captain, and a reputation for being clutch. Aroid arrived with nothing but a bunch of roided stats and he tried to remove Jeter from SS. I'd say he tried too hard to get the spotlight.
@eskayjo Disagree. He loves him some ARod.
who is DJ and KRod?
S/o to Michael Kay. Game changer
Call your brothers
I told Arod no need to regret if u smashed jlo
I knew him a J Low wouldn't last! Not long afternoon being engaged to him she married Batman! She had an afflecktion!
Jeter starting to come off as a diva, Arod said what he said and yea it crossed the line, but jeter comes off way too thin skinned, even in the documentary. Like all he had to do was embrace Arod in the yankee years and make him feel part of the team and he didn’t. And it took jeter all these years to forgive him, even tho Arod publically said plenty of times he made big mistakes in his career and life, trying to actually change who he is and become better as a person. The friendship seems one sided in general, Arod trying build the connection back up and Jeter just indifferent about it
This is why I'm inclined to think it was something A-Rod "did" rather than what A-Rod "said" that makes it hard for Jeter to ever forgive him or at least pretend to act cordially. And usually for those kinds of things its because of romance (e.g, you stole someone's partner from them or were their partner) or their family (you had a romantic relationship with someone in their family sibling, relative, parent) that forever burns a bridge lol Not saying its any of those things, but it's like you're almost 50 and you're holding a grudge over what some cocky 20-something said decades ago? It doesn't add up
@@kiroolioneaver8532 facts, All arod said was he’s the better player and Jeter didn’t have to lead playing for the Yankees. It’s not some crazy disrespectful stuff, it’s competitive nature. If you want to be the best in your craft, you take on the best. I can understand Jeter not wanting Arod on the Yankees or whatever, but they’re both retired, like they couldn’t squash their beef when they retired, had to wait another decade? It’s silly, and I actually feel worse for Arod, the dude putting all the effort to maintain the brotherhood and Jeter all indifferent when it’s really jeter’s fault for being sensitive like a highschool teen
Arod was a 100 times better shortstop than Derek Jeter who was statistically the worst MLB shortstop of all time. Google it you’ll see.
