your voice and accent has me curious about where you're from. Also, someone commented that this video is way too long for a review for us goldfish brains, and while that is true in a general sense, when I'm serious about buying a product and trying to get the whole scoop about it, videos like this, that really delve into the product and give it time and give their opinions over time as they use it, videos like this are super great to me. It's long, but it's really allowing me to kinda live vicariously through you to experience the mask. So anywho, I thought this was a great video for anyone seriously considering buying this mask.

I really really appreciate this video. I originally heard of this brand from another CZcamsr and though I love her videos, I can't ignore the fact that Manta was a sponsor. So that instantly raised a red flag for me, especially because I'm paranoid with my money and how/where I spend it. Other red flags include me being a side sleeper, and how my mental illness impacts my sleep. I work a morning shift every Friday and ALWAYS wake up some time before my alarm goes off, then I toss and turn until it's time to get up. It's so bad that I have anxiety every Thursday night, just dreading the fact that my sleep will be poor again. I looked up reviews and of course almost everyone loves the masks but then you see the poor ones sprinkled throughout (usually from non-back sleepers) which led me to do more research. I was really hoping this product would be worth it, but after watching this video, I think I'll save my money and just struggle. Maybe a better answer will come my way.
I have a bunch of other mask review videos that might be helpful to you. The one made by Owlzzz looks similar but is better suited to side sleepers.
I’m sorry to hear about your sleep troubles. I definitely understand how just one bad night of sleep can throw you off track. Since your body likes a predictable sleep schedule it’s a lot harder when you’re thrown off your normal schedule. If you get sufficient sleep the other six days, it is a lot easier to recover from. I’d make sure I was getting enough sleep the rest of the week to offset Friday.
They have one for side sleepers! Mine just arrived and first impressions are great. Cost me an arm and a leg but so far worth it. Those tapered eye cups definitely work

I used it for the first time yesterday. I too am a side sleeper, and it took me a really long time to adjust it perfectly. When I did go to sleep, the mask would shift to the point where I felt like it was on the edge of my eyelids. Overall though, it works as advertised. I guess it'll take some more tinkering with the fit of the mask.

This may help. I've been using the Tempur Pedic sleep mask for about 10 years. Nothing compares in my opinion. The material conforms to my face. It also provides total blackout. It's very soft and allows blinking. I love it. It's about $30. Also I'm a side sleeper.

Sadly the Tempur Mask can't be washed.

This is the best video review of a product I have ever seen! You did an amazing job! You are very articulate and you didn't talk too slow and hem haw around. Your presentation moved right along at a brisk pace that wasn't boring. I was interested the entire time. I love that you explained everything so thoroughly because you gave so much detail about what happened in your experience that I was able to completely understand everything that can happen and how it might feel! I am a side sleeper and I have had the same experience with the mask slipping when I move around and letting light in so I am grateful you let me know that it happens with this mask as well. Also, I wondered about how soft the eye cups are and if they would put too pressure on my eye sockets. You answered every question I had considered and more! You saved me some money! I'll keep looking and I'll watch for your future mask reviews. Great job!

I do not have a problem sleeping like I’m a great sleeper I probably sometime to get more sleep than most people so I don’t have a problem sleeping I do also watch ASMR CZcams videos which usually helps because in the first few minutes sometimes five minutes they how long the video is I usually don’t finish one of those videos depending on how I am that night if it’s one of those nights but I may finish a full video and then put on the second one and I get a few minutes in and then I’m falling asleep or sometimes it’s even the first two minutes of the video I am out. Yes I learned about that I don’t remember of the end of last year or beginning of this year I learned about a SMRA has really helped me sleep but at the same time like I mentioned the type of condo and the layout it is the type of layout I mean of our condo I can see the light under my door when my roommate is up in the living room watching TV and it’s really bothering me because sometimes I’m exhausted when I get home and it could be like 930 at night and my roommate wants to stay up for another hour and I’m exhausted and it sucks that I can’t go to bed because I can literally see the light under the door and it’s not like before where I could see a little bit of light under the door or no lights. It’s a lot more light coming in that it bothers me so sometimes I will literally just stay up in my room until I tell my roommate is done watching TV and turn the light off before I go to bed because I can’t go to bed. And I can’t have blackout curtains in my room because we don’t have a rod so that kind of sucks my room does get dark but like not dark enough and I have never been someone who has needed a way to make my room really dark. I almost thought about getting one of those I’ve seen one at Kohl’s it’s to put by your door so that there’s no draft if you have like a window or a door that gets like air coming through they have it it’s a it’s a long door stopper some of them are shaped like different animals are different things and you put it under your window onto your door so that you don’t get cold draft coming under the cold air coming through. Well I thought about getting one of those not because of that but because of blocking out the light that comes under my door like it’s a lot more noticeable in the new condo and he has really bothered me because I want those people I’ll go hang out with her boyfriend for example and I’ll come home and it’s between nine and 10 o’clock at night and not always but sometimes the roommates up watching TV and I’m one of lost it and I would just like for my room shut the door Gary for bed and I’d have no problem buying sleep when they’re watching TV because of the old condo we had it upstairs and the downstairs so the TV like the living room and kitchen and dining room audience stairs so I didn’t have to worry about the light I can kind of hear the TV but it wasn’t like noticeably loud or anything and I could just putEarphones in and listen to or watch ASMR in bed. But like the new condo we moved into I don’t like the layout because I literally have to stay up and wait for that person to go to bed because I underneath it’s just it’s annoying. So like I said those long door stoppers I almost died about getting one so that you could cover the light under my door that’s not what therefore but that might be what I’m gonna do. I would love to get a sleep mask but I have heard mixed reviews and I am definitely for sure a side sleeper so it’s something to think about I need something

I'd be curious of your review of the Manta Sleep Mask "PRO". I didn't even know a "pro" was available. Its expensive ($89), but it suppose to be for side sleepers.
I’ll admit, I’m curious but considering that the slim was also supposed to be good for side sleepers, I’m hesitant to try it. Especially for $90!
OK other models a different mask that they make and I’m wondering if any of the other ones would be better. They have the max which is bigger Eye cups. I’m actually it’s also good for someone with long eyelashes like extensions people with big eyes or if you have sensitive skin and it’s too tight this one will be looser it might be better on your eyes I wonder if that one would be better for you or they have silk they have a weighted one they have all kinds of other ones that maybe you should try. See your review is what I’ve heard some people say is it puts too much pressure that’s why I always thought maybe I needed the max but it cost more money so in the end if I ever did go with that one for myself I would just buy them separately by the slim mask and I’m by the max I cups to go with it and then you’re still getting it out a few dollars cheaper. But maybe you should try that one and see if it helps
I heard the max eye covers are less firm then the original eye cups

I got the Max cups and I don't feel they were like clouds, I guess the feel soft but they still force pressure onto the surrounding eye area with the strap firm. 2nd time tonight.

Are the eye rings washable?
Manta says it’s machine washable but to put it in the carrying pouch when you wash it. I didn’t get a carrying pouch so I would think you’d be ok to just use a delicates bag. Wash on cold and lay flat to dry.
Where did you buy them? They don’t look like the ones on there website. Are you sure you bought real ones?
I bought it straight from Manta’s website. I don’t mess around with Amazon since fakes are rampant for so much stuff. My mask is the slim, which is why it looks different.

Well I’m glad I saw your review because I’m a side sleeper I have tried I’ve tried all my bag I try to buy my stomach I don’t care if I fell asleep in that position I’m always ending up on my side. There’s some days where I don’t feel good or I’m sick or whatever the reason being and I have to let a different position that’s not sideways and I still wake up on my side I’m a side sleeper no matter what. And I moved into a new condo different from my old condo and the way this condo is there’s light that comes into it sometimes into my room when I’m sleeping because this condo has all wood floors are used to live in a condo that with all carpet so my door to my bedroom pretty much went down to where the carpet was a very little to no White came underneath the door. And because the way the condo it’s more like an open layout like the kitchen living room dining room it’s all one big open room and so when I open the door to my room I pretty much the kitchen living room dining room and to the left is my bathroom and a tiny hallway. And so it’s one layout meaning there are stairs that go to the garage or the front door but there’s no downstairs which I’m used to. I need to their stairs going down to the living room TV room and kitchen so because my room my room my roommates room is a little down the hall from where my bathroom is. We need a small hallway my bathroom is on the left and then you go straight in there is my roommates route but I feel bad because my bathroom is so close to my roommates room. That’s awesome to get used to where are used to live my bathroom was in my room so I didn’t have to worry about waking up the roommate. So if I go to bed or I get home and the roommates are watching TV in the TV living room and I want to go to bed I can kind of see light coming under my door from the lab in the TV room yes I can also hear the TV but like I can just put headphones on my earbuds and like play something to help me go to sleep so that isn’t a problem it’s more or less the light that comes under the door because this is Wood floors there’s more of a bigger gap under my door so I can see more light and the fact that my bed because my room is a lot smaller the bed has to go against the wall which is where the window is so safely on my side and I’m laying on my side I see the light coming under the door. My old condo I didn’t have a bed near the window it’s like in the middle of the bedroom so the one I like sideways I wasn’t facing I’m looking at the door to the door in my room so it’s me you need something and I would love black out curtains but I don’t have a curtain rod in my room we have mini blinds. My roommate bedroom is the only one that has a curtain Rod so my roommate could have blackout curtains if she wanted and then our little balcony area in our condo does have curtain rods to put a curtain there. So I had mixed feelings about these sleep mask things I have never been a fan of them I think they’re stupid my opinion but this particular brand seems to be the best one out there and I got them for my boyfriend good thing to know that if they come separately like when you get them there’s the sleep mask and then the cups there’s separate they’re in their own packaging when you get them good to know. Because I bought them separately for my boyfriend I want it the slim I’m ask and I also wanted to get the max cups because I thought that would be better for him he’s a guy so I’ve heard reviews that the original ones the regular ones or just a little snug and for his eyes I figured that would be better. So I thought the cups came in the same packaging as the mask they both come in their own separate packaging good to know I’m like oh they come in the same packaging but because I bought the things separately I figured they were in a come separately but they normally come in the same package no they don’t. I would have just bought the max mask sleep mask but I didn’t like that it wasn’t a slim band and in the end I save 10% and it was a few dollars cheaper to buy them separately then to buy the actual max Mask even with 10% off code with Dale little bit more. Like it would’ve cost more so I went that route and I’m happy with it it should be coming next week so I’m hoping he’s going to like it. Like I kind of want one for myself but I’m not for sure because I’m a side sleeper I’m not entirely sure like if my boyfriend is a side sleeper or he sleeps otherwise sometimes he sleeps on his side but when he actually goes to bed I don’t know if he has different ways he likes to sleep for napping he pretty much is a side sleeper. But he has sleep Aechmea so I thought this would maybe help because he likes to take a lot of naps even if it’s on his lunch break at work in the car or 10 minute nap somewhere I thought this would have maybe help him to be able to get quality naps in because he is sleep Aechmea it’s really bad it’s like the worst kind and so like he’s never fully gotten quality sleep and I have seen him when he’s napping and they say every so many seconds they will stop breathing and it freaks me out. So for my boyfriend who naps a lot because he doesn’t get quality sleep I figured this would help with it.

I reviewed the Nodpod, too. It's better in some ways but worse in others. I feel like it's SO much harder for us side sleepers to find a good mask.

Got the original manta sleep mask yesterday. I agree that the cups are quite firm and boy does it take some faffing about to get a good fit, especially if you want to sleep on your side. They're a little bit uncomfortable and the sweetspot where the band tightness and eyecup positioning is really quite small but once you find it the sleep mask is good. As for lying on your side, I eventually found it comfortable without having to alter my position. If, like me you sometimes sleep with your hand resting on the pillow on the side of your face then it's not much different but again you've got to get that sweetspot exactly right. I had a reasonably good night's sleep. Got up, had my shower, looked in the mirror and saw that I had quite a large red mark on my left temple, where the band/eye cup had perhaps rubbed or been too tight. The right had a similar mark but much lighter. hopefully they'll go away in a few hours. I'm going to keep using them over the next week and see if they get better and the eye cups get softer. Enjoyed your video.

So what's the best overall mask to sleep with
It depends on what your goal is. I’ve tried a lot of masks that are fine for back sleepers but not great for side sleepers. If you’re looking for something blackout, I like the Tepurpedic sleep mask.

@@ManapuaMan187 you have so many options as a back sleeper. Most masks will work well for you, since you don’t have anything putting pressure between the pillow and the mask. Most of my issues with this Manta mask are side sleeper specific - I’d assume it would actually be a good fit for someone like you.
