    Hi Danica. I disagree about this being boring. None of your videos have ever been anything other than useful and informative. Your charismatic personality shines through always. You’re honest and real. Thank you!

    Hey! T1D wife here! I'm not new to this... I'm also an EMT, but I always feel like a novice. Especially when it comes to insulin. He just went from a pump to injections (and our insurance sucks but that's another topic) I am loving these videos!

    Mine are in the top half of an armoire in my bedroom. I think I've managed to horde a year's worth of infusion sets.

    I open all of my supplies, then put everything I need to change my pump, including alcohol wipes, in a zip lock baggie. They are kept in a huge basket. I just grab one and replace the zip lock in the basket for the next ones.

    I bought my daughter a big zippered pencil case with multiple compartments that we keep in the kitchen. One side has lancets, alcohol wipes, gauze pads, glucagon kit, and glucose gel, with extra room to put a juice box & granola bar. The other size has her insulin, syringes, meter, and test strips. Quick and easy to grab and go for school or travel. We keep Dexcom sensors on a shelf in the dining room and extra supplies in a backpack to restock the grab & go bag as needed.

    As a type 2 diabetic I have probably don't have as much Supply as you do such as for instance no Dexcom no infusion sets. However I do have a specific drawer that I use for my testing supplies alcohol swabs test strips and lancets I would call this my diabetes door. I do use tresiba insulin FlexPen. However I also have syringes has backups in case if the mechanism on the pain should fail this way I could just draw the insulin as if it was from a vial.

    what sets are you using that have different colors? For my T1D daughter I use colored zip locks and put a "set kit" together with everything she would need for a set change. Also alcohol and tagaderm film. it's grab and go easy.

    I really enjoyed seeing how you store and organize your supplies. I'm not on a pump or CGM yet, but I always find I have boxes of syringes or pen needles that I need to store and I really like the idea that you had. I'm going to look for something that works in a similar way for me, big hugs!

    Stuff I don't use is in a bin under my bed. The excess supplies is in my desk hutch with the other medication like Tylenol etc. And the active stuff (including my pills) is in a craft organizer. I plan on making a quick video for my diabetic Instagram cuz I love it so much.

    I have something in my bedroom that's a cabinet with two glass doors and has two shelves you can adjust so there's like three sections and i stored all my medicines it looks like a medicine cabinet in the doctor's or hospital office. I got it at walmart online years ago and I love it I'm a well organized person. Except the insulin is in my small personal fride. I have emergency snacks in a personal box that it's labled EMERGENCY for low blood sugar ONLY I have my GLUCAGON on top of my table close to my bed. Have been on the pump since 2016 this my second pump I use libre2 sensors they stick and more accuate than medtronic. I can wear it up to 14 days and it only takes 1 hour to warm up medtronic sensors take 2 hours and it calibrates. Plus the medtronic sensors take a lot of battery juice on my pump and then you have to keep charging even if its not 7 days yet. I used to have to take it off by the 4th day battery was low. Put a new patch and skin grip patches are expensive! Plus my skin became itchy abd sore red around. Libre2 works for me and matches my meter!

    I should carry an extra set in my purse---just didn’t think about it. I want my next pump to be the T1 instead of the Medtronic 630. Problem is that I have A LOT of extra MIO insets. Does anyone know if I would be able to use the Medtronic MIO sets with a T! Pump? They looked very similar in Danica’s video

      @dwightl5863 Před 3 lety +1

      @@TheFieldhockeygk11 That's my biggest frustration with Medicare. The "just in time" delivery with Dexcom sensors! Crud happens and if you have to change a sensor early you end up sensor-less. Called Medicare and my Dexcom supplier to see if they could ship just a few days earlier but each points the finger at the other for a change to be made. Have resorted to reusing the same sensor for another 10 days so I can build up a supply. Crazy I know.
      Back to topic: I keep my supplies in a small cabinet in the kitchen. Close to the refrigerator , table handy and trash.

    Hi Danica, I'm wondering how you dispose of your Dexcom G6 applicator, the ridiculously large mega plastic monstrosity that cannot fit in the sharps container that's free. My pharmacy has offered me a larger box that would fit about 6-8 applicators but they will charge me 8.95 for it, so it will be an extra expense every two or three months. These cannot be thrown in the garbage as they are considered a biohazard since the needle goes into your body (as you of course know).

    It doesn't seem like you respond to your followers and that makes me sad. I am type 1 at the age of 31 with no one in my family with diabetes. I have been type 1 for 2 years started DKA 11+ last was 9.3 how do you get a cgm and pump in America? Medicaid won't approve it and private insurance is to much. I'm so scared. I wish my legs aren't so numb and my vision blurry. I try so hard. And I have severe anxiety over going low, so I tend high usually 180+

      Basically I'm jealous I need a cgm... Why because I'm poor can't have it? Oh yes my husband makes money and we pay 800$ month for my diabetic care and the co pays 20$ percent over copay. Can I see an eye doctor to evaluate my retine ... No ....can I see a podiatrist.... No..,... It's not preventive care. I have to pay. What's your insurance?
