You won't believe how good a whipple supercharged Silverado sounds with long tube headers.

    • @turbojeremy13
      @turbojeremy13  Před rokem +1

      @mauricioguevara7636 no, not at all. The exhaust doesn't care about the air temps and the whipple has antifreeze running through it just like the engine does.

    What was the boost control module again? Also, any info on the methanol set up?

    • @turbojeremy13
      @turbojeremy13  Před rokem +1

      It's called smooth boost.
      The methanol kit is your basic stage 2 snow kit with the pwm controller that ramps up the duty cycle of the pump as boost increases. The nice thing about that is if the boost is turned down with the smooth boost, the amount of meth sprayed goes down automatically because it sees less boost and reduces the pwm on the meth pump

    I'm contemplating on a new whipple gen 5 3.0 on my 2015 stock 6.2. Have you done any internal work to this engine? I've heard dredded stories about the pistons in these breaking under boost.

      No internal work of any kind. It has never been opened up. Just bolted up the blower, exhaust and water/meth kit and have been enjoying it

      I would if I was still there. I moved to ky in October of 22. The owner of the truck is still there which is why there hasn't been any new videos since then. Although, he plans to move out here later this year.

    Stock fuel system? Where did you mount the water/meth nozzle?

    • @turbojeremy13
      @turbojeremy13  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes, stock fuel system.
      The meth nozzle is mounted in the intake piping about 6" in front of the throttle body.

    • @kevinvieira2874
      @kevinvieira2874 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@turbojeremy13 ahh ok. I have a 2020 sierra 6.2 with a 3.0 whipple kit but my setup wont allow a meth nozzle on the intake tube as its a silicone coupler from tb to airbox. The snout has a 90 elbow so i was thinking of just tapping the nozzle on the outer bend of the snout. The reason im looking into water/meth is that im running out of fuel system. Even on the supplied pulley the low side is having a hard time keeping up. I put a 3.875 pulley that makes 9.5-10psi to tune it on but it was losing way to much pressure on both high and low side injector pulse was going beyond 10ms at redline which is quite a bit wider then the DI window allows for basically 150% duty cycle.
      You mentioned running 15psi boost, thats quite a bit im impressed just the water/meth can make up for the lack of fuel system our trucks have, although that is a 5.3 i reckon the fuel demand is less. I cant run that much boost on a 6.2 with 11.5:1 compression. Ill be happy with 10psi should be more then enough to take a trx to gapplebees.

    Is the transmission stock or has it been built for the extra power?

    • @turbojeremy13
      @turbojeremy13  Před 11 měsíci

      At the time of making this video, the trans was 100% stock. In the last month, an external transmission cooler was added. It wasn't over heating, the cooler was added just as a precaution. Other than the cooler, it's completely stock.

      Thanks for the response. I just recently bought a whipple 3.0 supercharger coming my way. I am debating between removing the cats or leaving them on. Tuner tells me he recommends removing the cats if going 12 pounds of boost or leaving them if run stock 6-7 pounds boost. I prefer to have cats on the truck. But I am concern I can clog the cats and damage the motor with extra boost. What is your recommendation or how long did your friends truck noticed he clogged his cat? How much boost was he running?

    • @turbojeremy13
      @turbojeremy13  Před 11 měsíci

      @cnctoolsl.l.c.9497 he never clogged the cats. He was getting a CEL for cat efficiency which means that cat wasn't cleaning properly but it wasn't clogged. He was already running 15psi. But thanks to the smooth boost, he could turn the boost down from inside the cab while driving. So he would turn it down most of the time when just cruising around. The other benefit of the smooth boost is that boost can be brought in progressively by how quickly throttle is applied. You will find that the mechanical bypass valve that comes with the whipple is either open or closed, nothing in between and it opens and closes abruptly. Gets annoying when driving in stop and go traffic

      @@cnctoolsl.l.c.9497with a blower set up you want the most optimal exhaust system I'm talked 2" headers x pipe no cats 3" exhaust as well as the largest diameter cold air intake that has been proven. Those two things alone will drastically effect the performance
